UGH.  Cullen has sprayed his turf on Sue’s book release. Any ol’ opportunity for him to re-seed his black and white propaganda about the boys.  He’s never even met Sue and says as much. How does this twerp manage to land interviews in connection with Sue’s big moment when he is just regurgitating the same, old prefabricated constructs he came up with since his book of fictional lies.  There is nothing new or factually informative to be had – just his usual interview tripe with that worn-out public agenda to reinforce his status quo disinformation. Grrr.

Here is what I had at the comments section of that awful article.. If my comment makes it through moderation, this is what you will find:

I am very pleased that Mrs Klebold is stepping forward and sharing her family’s story (and most importantly her son’s story) with the world. It can do a great deal of good. Her eloquence and honesty in previous writing endeavours (for O Magazine and through Andrew Solomon, respectively) have drawn my respect and my trust that she will carry this book forward with love and strength.

However, I am sorely disappointed to see the inclusion of Mr Cullen within this article. Mr Cullen has written a book about Columbine, yes he has. But what is often neglected is the fact that various “facts” in his book are not the truth. Various events he cites did not come to pass exactly as described and some were even discredited as false within the available evidence on the case. Mr Cullen also has developed the unfortunate habit of glossing over Dylan Klebold’s shortcomings and more vindictive murderous acts. Furthermore, survivors of Columbine and families of victims (as well as the community within Littleton) have spoken out against Mr Cullen’s work in the past as being dishonest and not at all in line with what really happened.

Mr Cullen has furthermore chosen to rely on a post-mortem diagnosis for Eric Harris as the gospel truth, even though Robert Hare (founder of the ‘psychopath checklist’, referred to in Mr Cullen’s own book) also stated that the test leading to that diagnosis “should be considered valid ONLY IF administered by a suitably qualified and experienced clinician under scientifically controlled and licensed, standardised conditions”. None of those conditions were met when so-called professionals set out to diagnose a deceased 18-year-old and set him up to be the mastermind of a terrible massacre. Eric set out to convince the world that he was evil, only leaving breadcrumb trails in his journal that pointed at his own insecurities and lack of self-esteem. A part of him would certainly feel vindicated at having pulled the wool over the eyes of Mr Cullen and his cohorts so completely that they could not even see Eric for who he really was!

The general public needs to understand one thing: Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were equals to one another. One was not pulled in by the other. One was not convinced to kill by the other. These boys both needed help. They both exhibited warning signs long before the massacre. Eric reached out for help; Dylan did not. Dylan wanted to die but also kill, expressing a longing for this dualism long before Eric ever said two words about it (that we know of). To presume otherwise would be to do their respective stories a grave disservice. It is time to put Mr Cullen’s shoddy research to rest once and for all.

Let Mrs Klebold and the actual story do the talking.

Well, I think this makes a lovely kick-off to a whole slew of (corrective) comments to come on that article.

Was Dylan wearing shoulder pads during the massacre? His shoulders look very broad/squared in the cafeteria footage. It makes him look a little built.

Nah. I think part of that is the angle he is at while walking and also the fact that he has black suspenders on that are strapped tight across the middle of his shoulders so it tends to make the muscle of his shoulders rounder, appearing more bulky and ‘built’ as you say.

I light blasted this famous pic a bit more so you can see the odd angle he is at and also a hint of his wide suspender cutting across the top-middle of his shoulder blade.

Note, that only one suspender strap is still fastened across his right shoulder. His suspenders were likely problematic the entire time during NBK and kept unsnapping from the top of his pants. He probably had far more issues with this than Eric because of how lanky and long waisted his physique was).  The suspender across his left shoulder is missing, likely unfastened upon impact to the ground and is caught beneath his back.

Some people forget that there were 15 victims in this horrible massacre.2 more sets of parents lost their sons. I DONT condone what happened, its horrific for all the innocent people killed, but its sad that the boys were in so much pain and no one even noticed 

Kids can be so fucking cruel! They dont realize the effect bullying will have on the individual or other people.No not every victim of bullying will choose to kill innocent people, but they must of been pushed so far that other peoples lives meant nothing and their own. After and still now people were so quick to judge them as monsters but refuse to look into them as people. How Dylan seemed like the perfect gentleman towards women and Eric seemed to have banter and was handsome. 

Looking forward to the Abc News interview with dylans mum anyone else tuning in?

Except that this never happened? Well, not all of those things happened in oneincident. This is a made up story which was fabricated to make readers knee jerk sad and upset.

What did my eye spy when I was checking up on the availability of Sue Klebold’s book? A Dutch translation of it! Available on February 16, 2016, or so they currently say: the same release date as the English one. It’s from a pretty reputable website (from the Dutchies among us: bol.com has it!) so this is potentially a very exciting deal. Her story will make it out there in more than one language if this is true and will likely reach an even wider audience.

Ok, so we know there’s a UK version and now the Dutch version will be available. Thanks for the FYI from @thedragonrampant  🙂

do u know who took the video of dylan walking down the chs stairs? is there a longer version?

No, we don’t really know who took that particular video clip. It’s likely Nate since Dylan and Nate filmed video footage on the morning drive to Columbine in Dyl’s car so they could give Nate’s dad in Florida a sort of ‘day in a life’ was like for them at high school.  I think it’s possible that Nate filmed Dyl at the end of the school day leaving school. But this footage is not filmed when the Morning Ritual was filmed since Dyl’s hair is much longer and it appears to be sunnier and warmer out than the ‘cold frosty morning’.   Then again, it could be any of his friends including Robyn or Devon messing around with the CHS video camera on school grounds. Dyl is a bit flirtatious in the way he tilts his head and full on smiles for the camera. We just don’t know for certain and it is a very short clip. There has never been a longer version.

just want to clarify some things since I got some uh. feisty messages:

– Sue’s coming out and talking about everything on her own. She’s laying everything out on the table for a reason. It’s a contrast to Kathy, who’s remain withdraw and may or may not want to put the past behind her. I wouldn’t even dare to approach Kathy given her case. Not in a million years. But Sue is talking out for a reason and therefore I don’t think she would mind being sent a small letter.

– speaking of which this is nothing huge. 2 photos of someone she cares about very much. An intro of my name. Followed by a list of names. And a very brief but meaningful thank you.

– I am making zero mention of tumblr when I include names

– If at any point Sue mentions in her book about how uncomfortable she’s felt with receiving any fan-mail, post, etc from in the past, I will cancel all of this entirely. Plain and simple. But as it stands she’s been receptive and very kind towards anyone who’s contacted her.

– I am likely going to mail this through her publicist. Not her direct address, which imo seems a little invasive to me. 

– This is for Susan. It’s not something that will be used to discuss how people love and worship Dylan. And it definitely shows: almost every single response I’ve gotten so far has praised her for being strong/thanked her for her work.

– I would do this privately, but it was suggested to include everyone’s names. And I agreed because I think it would be nice for her to see the support of so many others behind her. I mean, how much hate mail do you think she’s going to get from the random people who still don’t take the time out to look deeper into this matter, and who will always portray her son as a killer? And her a horrible mother?

I have more of an obsession with Dylan than Eric as well. Tho idk why an anon would care why?? Preference of what interests/ calls to you is different in everyone. Mucho love to yo blog doe.

I couldn’t have said this better myself. Agreed. It’s a matter of what speaks to you personally.  We all shouldn’t be coerced to like both equally simply because of the expectations others attempt to enforce upon us.  Dylan speaks to some while Eric speaks to other and some find both equally appealing.  It is what it is.

In response to that anon about Dylan’s eye color: I think his eyes looked a little brown in videos because of the low quality of those tapes. Even Eric’s eye color wasn’t that visible in most of their homemade tape recordings. Regardless in Dylan’s senior pictures you can see his eyes as the true blue color they were.

I think that goes for all the watered down, pixelated colors in those nineties video tapes. You can hardly look at their eyes and see their true color let alone realize that in reality, Dylan’s Chemical Bros Setting Sun t-shirt is a brilliant, bright (dare I say shock?!) red whereas on the fuzzy, grainy videos, it looks a dull, muted, almost maroon red.  I couldn’t really say if Eric’s eyes looked blue, hazel or brown on those videos let alone that Dylan’s eyes looked more brown.  The vid productions are not a good measure for any true color period. 

Do you not find Eric attractive? Or hate his personality or something? I guess I’m confused as to why you dislike Eric? I mean I know everyone has their own opinions and you don’t have to explain why, but I was just wondering if there is a deeper reason as to why you dislike Eric.

No, I’m not especially attracted to his type but such things have nothing to do with the complexity of my feelings regarding Eric.  ‘Dislike’ is just too simplistic and not an apt word, either. Their are deep reasons for both boys and each in their own way.  One is a mirror, the other, my shadow. 

Why were Dylan and Eric’s mugshots from their 1998 arrest never released? You’d think they would have released those considering Jeffco loved to make the duo’s reputation seem as criminal as possible.

Yeah, I know, I”m just as WTF? frustrated and baffled about it as you are.   Seems like the mugshots would’ve been important evidence to document and release to the public and much more so than their drivers license photos.  This would be evidence that one would think that the police station would be obliged to release to include as part of a major criminal case and since those photos are mug shots of the two after committing a juvenile theft offense,  you would think that the photographic evidence would be solid to  include in their case files. There should be no reason the police would withhold such evidence.  And, I can just see them in those photos too.  Dyl staring blankly ahead with a down turned mouth as if shame be the name that says “I am a criminal now and forever…” and Rebby looking perturbed and bested with a clenched jaw and that flash caught glare.  Then they’d turn they shuffle to the side on cue in their handcuffs and get their profile snapped all the while anticipating in dread as their parents could be walking through the door of the station at any moment.  Good bad times.
