unless the girl they married didn’t want kids then they probably wouldn’t have had them. I think a dog or cat as there ‘kid’ would have done just fine lol.

Oh, I can totally see a Rebby with plenty of doggy kids in addition to his own girls. lol    And of course, a couple of kitties for Dyl and his clan.   But Idk, I tend to feel as though Eric as he grew older would smooth out into that conservative male wanting to marry and and have a family his own.  I don’t see Dylan surviving as a bachelor. He would need to be able to share his life with someone special but that does not necessarily involve having kids.

I 100% agree with that 13 Reasons Why post, although I DO think it opened up a conversation to assholes who wouldn’t have talked about it otherwise.

Well, I think there are better ways of opening up dialog about this still, largely, taboo topic of suicide in a respectful manner that has regard for it’s potential viewers that struggle with the impulse and the fact that they might possibly feel powerfully triggered.  It’s important to keep it reality based too and not make into some glamorized fueled fantasy where the suicide victim is in the driver’s seat having the last word.  I know this was a book and all and supposedly it is done better but once you translate a book into visuals you gotten tread cautiously with your potential audience.  The imagery provokes and makes the concept even more alluring.

thank you for that post on 13 reasons why. its everything I felt about that show and more I really hate how the show is so popular and praised its like everyone and there mother loves the show especially on tumblr.

You’re welcome. Even though I was getting pissed off while writing it. haha.
Honestly, people ‘love’ it because they are sheeple programmed to watch and regurgitate to others that it’s some edgy, profound piece of art – simply because everyone else told them that’s how they should feel about it too. I feel as though you should always watch something and go with your gut instinct. Plenty told me I should watch the show because they wanted to know how I felt about it but once I was 30 min in I was just going ‘what a narcissistic, contrived arrogant piece of work she is’.  Acting like some grand mastermind of her own suicide and yanking people’s chains giving them guilt trips with these stupid, gimmicky 80s audio tapes. Pretension ‘suicide aesthetic’ propaganda. Grrr.

I am so happy you answered a 13 Reasons Why question! I wanted to ask you myself but never got around to it. I especially wanted to ask about the scene you briefly touched on in your previous answer. That generic “school shooting prep-kit” scene. I can’t be the only one that saw the connections to Columbine, pipe bombs, almost (if not are) exact same weapons…I remember I was so hyped about this show and after watching it, not gonna lie I wanted to die more than I did beforehand…..(cont.)

….And the more I re-watch it, the angrier I get. Don’t even get me started on how the girl who killed herself told one of her “reasons why” to get over something she said. Show was a huge disappointment, they had a chance to send a message and they flopped so hard..

You mean you actually re-watch this piece of shit show?   Whyyy?  Are you a masochist?  lol   My advice is to stop. doing. that. It’s just triggering you. You “wanted to die more after the show.” That speaks volumes.  Can I ask you why it made you feel more this way?  I’d be curious what exactly about the show makes suicide alluring to you specifically?  They may as well had been flashing subliminal “GO JUMP OFF A CLIFF AFTER YOU MAKE TAPES!” to viewers. They definitely did have a chance to be responsible and get a positive message out there for struggling youth and failed miserably.  I hated the girl too.  The moment I met her in the first episode it was an instant dislike and lack of sympathy for her over confident, cocky character.  The actual suicide did not have to be shown in all it’s horrific glory.  The suicide could easily have been implied without showing the entire thing. What a fuck up. What sickens me most of all  is how the show has been hyped and praised and other teens now have to watch because others have told them ‘hey did you see this show..they show an entire suicide scene….’  It’s psychological sewage for your mind instead of chicken soup for your soul.

Were they coffee drinkers or energy drinkers?

*Dylan liked the smell of coffee but not the taste of it. It’s possible he did the occasional Jolt, Josta, Surge and Mountain Dew to stay awake all day at school and on into the evening for work (and then homework ugh!).  Can see him possibly liking a overly sweet chocolate laden Frappucino though.

I doubt that Eric was into coffee or energy drinks. Too picky but the dude had enough energy as it was. Think it’s safe to say he was a likely an early riser with relatively little difficulty waking up in the morning.   We know he liked to drink coke which probably had plenty caffeine for his constitution.  Also, would bet Eric probably hated Starbucks too as ‘the in place’ for peers to hang out.

have you watched 13 reasons why? and if you have what is your opinion on it?

Overly pretentious, self absorbed, edgy ‘teen drama’ that unintentionally  intentionally glamorizes suicide and makes it look attractive to those who are easily triggered sending the message that yes, they too, can plot a convoluted postmortem revenge fantasy complete with bitter selfie-style tape recordings to send to your friends and family to make the sting hurt real bad.  Girl they select to commit suicide seems super pretty and super confident and super manipulative with guys and oh so super in control of staging her suicide and manipulating people from beyond the grave.  Jeez, she sure could’ve put her confidence and skills to much better use than in something so fruitless.  “I’ll show them!”  Uh, wait, no you actually won’t because you won’t be around for any of it. smh.

That is just not how suicide is, either.  In the real world with real people.  They could at least show some respect on the subject matter with some regard, care and consideration instead of using suicide as a cool device to further their ratings boost.

Gratuitous, blatant showing of suicide scene. Why. Just whyyy.  Did they they somehow delude themselves into thinking that showing this would prevent teen suicide?  Give me a break.  They just wanted to show the whole thing to be bold and edgy cause hey, kids are all hip and down with the gore these days. People will talk and it’ll boost their ratings.  Gross.  Irresponsible af.

The worst idea for a show.  Has no redeeming value whatsoever except to make  intricate suicide planning a cool thing to do.

And don’t even get me started on the rumored Season 2 school shooter theme.

I mean, if they’re actually gonna pull that shit as tv entertainment, can we at least  have the Basement Tapes instead please?    It’s the real deal and we can actually learn from it.

Dylan would’ve been the guy who puts his friends away to spend more time with his girlfriend, if he had one.

But he also wouldn’t want to completely abandon his friends because he knew deeply how that felt with Zack and Devon.  This dude with lots of Libra in his chart would be working extra hard trying to balance his time out to keep everyone happy but of course, she would be his priority because not just to keep her happy but for his own sense of happiness. 🙂
