No, probably not. Unless they were hanging with a group and the pack mentality would make them feel more empowered and daring enough to harass. But it should be said too that they knew and associated with blacks and hispanics girls in school and both liked the boys and consider them on friendly terms. They were nice and polite by themselves as individuals and treated POC respectfully. if they got to know you. So, there is an example of how two-faced and veiledly complex racism can be with people depending on the circumstances. And E & D used the n word quite a lot.
EC I want to let you know that Brooks story about Dylan handing him a paper of Eric’s website was make believe :) That never happened and it doesn’t add up at all
There is confusion surrounding this whole thing that is a very long and complicated story regarding the “A concerned citizen”. The gist of it is that Brooks and Aaron recognized their own handwriting of Eric’s url on the scrap of paper which was loosely stuck in a Jeffco file dated April ‘97. However, both boys denied tipping off an officer at Southwest Plaza mall as “a concerned citizen” with this scrap of paper and website printouts. Instead, Brooks claimed that Dylan gave him Eric’s website url in March ‘98 and he informed his parents.
I’ve requested that Randy Brown address and clarify this in his book since his son, Brooks, maintains that Dylan gave him the piece of paper. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for Brooks to flat out lie in a book that his family would read knowing it was inaccurate.
The question I posed was: Why would Aaron and Brooks identify their handwriting on the scrap paper yet deny that they tipped off an officer at the Southwest Plaza mall as the “a concerned citizen”. If Brooks knew about Eric’s nasty website content in April ‘97 which supposedly was written by his own hand than why would Brooks claim that Dylan tipped him off about Eric’s website one year later (March ‘98)?
Another problem is that Jeffco fucked up on their record keeping and filing for Eric’s website printouts and the “concerned citizen” information. It’s a bit of a mess. I hope that Randy can put the confusion to rest.
I spoke about this once before here.
Sorry if I sound dumb for asking this but what were the boys “Black” texts for? Was it a school project (I can imagine my psychology&philosophy teacher to make us write smth about a random word to see what we as a person are like or whatever) or part of their diversion program? I don’t quite think that it was a coincidence that both have short wannabe philosophical texts based on the word “black” so I figured I’d ask you😊
It was probably for their Creative Writing class. The teacher probably gave them a color as a writing topic for the day and asked them to write a few creative sentences as to how they interpreted it.
I’m a Latina and I agree 100% with you. I don’t find it that hard to understand haha. Too much sensitivity over something we already know.
Thanks for sharing this. 🙂
Yeah I was about to say Robyn looked high as fuck
Yeah, that’s just the impression I got. But of course, it could also be a fair amount of shock which has just numbed her out to be speaking very matter of factly without much visible emotion on her face or in her voice. It was interesting to hear Robyn’s voice though.
in anon because i dont want to get hate but also agree with what you said… I suffered bullying for being very white and ginger
Equally valid as the next persons’ discrimination. I’m sorry to hear about that. ❤ Thanks for adding your voice.
TBH they hated everyone so no one should get all upset that they hate their race specifically. They hated white people and y’all news flash THEY WERE WHITE. I would be offended if they were rude to animals tbh.
Exactly. They were misanthropic idiotic hypocrits. Stupid logic. lol
Incidentally, that description should be a KMFDM lyric for their next album (which comes out like, every 6 frickin’ months).
Reading this discussion about racism and now I respect you even more!
A reasonable person. Thank you.^^
You are definitely the 3rd shooter , you should be locked up Nigga
Careful anon, don’t let that paranoia go unchecked. lol
And hey, I bet it’s great using the interwebs and saying big, bold shit on Tumblr Anonymous, huh? But not too terribly original. Next….
White people can never experience true racism in a system that was built to benefit them and to maintain white power.
As long as we continue to think this way there will always be racism and a divide between all of Humanity. There will always be that ‘Us vs Them’ mentality if you choose to buy into this rigid construct of thinking.
Next comment should be off anon. Otherwise, I’m done.
I think your post answering the question re: whether or not they hated Latinos came across as flippant. The terms they used for white folks aren’t nearly as derogatory compared to how people of color are described, esp considering the fact they were white themselves (as well as cisgender & heterosexual men). How you suggest they were just having fun & bored diminishes this to me in a “ho hum” kind of way, which is easy for us white people to do when we have never experienced racism of any kind.
“The terms they used for white folks aren’t nearly as derogatory compared to how people of color are described, “
That is your opinion. I’m sure anyone looking at that list could take offense and claim that their race is being vilified the most compared to the rest. And that would be their opinion, from their own personal perspective and offended reaction. That’s the whole incendiary point of those types of words. To be offensive. Of course, the boys didn’t make up those derogatory words. They were merely regurgitating slur names that were already created long ago throughout history by others.
How you suggest they were just having fun & bored diminishes this to me in a “ho hum” kind of way,
Uh, because they were? They certainly weren’t drawing up that list for any sort of serious research. It was something for them to do as a joke and for fun. And when I say this I am not at all in any way whatsoever negating their racism. Because they were racist. So, don’t direct this at me. Direct it at Eric and Dylan for engaging in the kind of casual racism that angry, bored and frustrated white boys often do. I certainly was not going to sugar coat my answer and say “oh yeah, the boys were a-okay with Latin Americans!’
which is easy for us white people to do when we have never experienced racism of any kind.
That would be a false statement as I have in fact experienced racism. How self-righteous of you to believe that white people are excluded from the evils of racism? This is like quantifying bullying and saying that if the bullying isn’t equally harsh all across the board it’s invalid. It doesn’t work like that. But I’m pretty much done with this discussion because all you seem to want to do is read into things and turn this into something personal of which, it is clearly not about.
My final statement in that post, as is – no more and no less: Eric and Dylan were white people and casual racists. Engaging in racism out of ignorance, boredom, and for fun in their boring little town. Deal with it.
i’m latin american (not mexican) and i’m sad :c why does everyone think latin americans are just mexicans? uwu
I was literally asked this question about a day ago posed as ‘would they like Mexicans?’ which is why I thought someone re-asked and rephrased it. I got to say though that if you’re going to get knee-jerk sensitive about such racial technicalities than you really shouldn’t even want to to know what racists Eric and Dylan thought. Such nuances would make no difference to them.
So what was the whole deal with Brandon Larson and Dylan? I read Larson was Dan Lab’s friend, and Dan punched Eric in the face (how come there are no reports in the 11k besides what Lab said about this fight???) But why exactly did Dylan talk about Larson so much? Wasn’t Larson just a 10th grader while Dylan was a senior? You’d figured they would never cross paths. Dylan said Larson would be on his knife, or another time saying Larson wouldn’t have a jaw after 4/20.
Well, Dylan and Eric had a lot of issues with Freshman jocks so the two coming into head-butting confrontations with younger classmates was sadly a typical occurrence at CHS. It’s likely Dylan hated Brandon because Eric had issues with him and Dan Lab so Dylan was sticking up for his friend by hating on the dude too. There are no specifics as to why Dylan had it out for him personally. Please E-C Search “Brandon” for more details about Dylan’s dislike.
Hey my name is Dylan klebold and my legs are so darn long I can’t reach my Dylan kleboard. I go to school and get very Dylan klebored then see Eric and Dylan kletold him that that were godlike af. Then I realise I forgot my trench coat at home and got very Dylan klecold. I was very nervous but I decided to be very Dylan KleBOLD and asked to go home and get it.
I got home and found a dollar and Dylan klefolded it and put it in my pocket for later. I went to the store and found something that was being Dylan klesold and I bought it.
Omg, dude, this is so old, like.
What did Eric and Dylan think about latin americans? they hated them????
Eric and Dylan hated Latinos (yes, Mexicans as you’d asked previously), Blacks, Asians, Middle Easters, American Indians, Whites – particular Jocks, Preps, Snobby Rich kids, Christians, Jews, and oh yeah, can’t forget: themselves. I guess you could say they were unconditionally all inclusive with their hate.
Here’s them having fun listing derogatory names for various races.

It’s cool to hate! (when you’re bored with your sheltered, suburban white boy life)
p.s. the list on the left is their brainstorming ideas for things to throw at the bike including the sequence of events for Carwax commercial. 🙂
Did the boys like hockey?
Dylan owned and wore daily a backward Colorado Avalanche hat.
Eric created a deathmatch level for Doom II: Hell on Earth consisting of an ice hockey rink.
That’s what we know..
hey, about Eric’s quote ‘I can’t see a god damn thing so what the hell am I going to write about, how I can’t see anything? My mind is black, sight is black, hearing is black, everything, so HA’ where did you find that??
My hint is that it’s in this section of the 11K. 😉 Pages 25923-26859
did eric’s parents throw all of his stuff away the day after the shooting or anything like that ? it seems like they tried to completely erase him from their family
And how would we know this exactly? They don’t talk and never have.
Did susan dewitt ever get that fly cd eric said she could have? also i saw a letter she wrote a while back about eric i think you know which one it is was it real?
A question such as this is one of the many burning questions we’d like to know but unfortunately don’t. I would imagine that Jeffco eventually released the cd (and other personal possessions of his that didn’t pertain to the massacre) back to the parents but they probably didn’t know Eric willed it to Susan. Even if they knew he willed it to her, I doubt they’d go out of their way to fulfill his wishes after what he’d done. But I’m just speculating here. But I can tell you that her letter was real. 🙂
Can you link the survey where eric said he was a former columbine student
Nope because you can easily google it yourself. My blog is not a general Columbine blog and I’m not a Columbine search engine for every little thing under the sun.
