you’re being ignorant to me too because i’ve read all about eric, his journals, etc etc. and still think he’s a psychopath, so you tell me.

you’re the ignorant one

some people are born with brain defects- eric was one of them.

Okay, I give. Since you claim to have read all his materials, please give your specific reasons as to why you’ve concluded him a psychopath?   And I don’t just mean loosely using the term for someone ‘crazy’ or ‘nuts’. mind you.  If you are labeling him a ‘psychopath’ then I’m going to assume you’re referring to the actual psych textbook definition of a psychopath

i fucking hate eric though, he is a little psychopath

Just hating and writing either or both boys off as “psycho” or “crazy” out of ignorance rather than an attempt to understand is why we continue to have school/mass shootings today.  No one ever has to really examine the real, underlying problem if Eric is just a scapegoat ‘psychopath’ in society’s eyes. It’s a reactionary, dismissive way of not wanting to truly understand why they did what they did.

I want to die and be free in the after life middle school was hell i hate my father and i hate my life

There’s no easy, free pass out of this life though. If you choose to end it early there will only be soul struggles over there in relation to opting out before your time. Yes, you hate your life right now, in this very moment, but you’re also still very young. As they say ‘this too shall pass’ and things will change and get better with time.  I would highly recommend that you chat with these folks who can help you get your negative feelings out so that you can begin to manage hard times better.  I’m sorry that things are very tough right now but you’re here for a purpose that you’ve not yet discovered.  Yes, school may suck and your parents are causing you grief. But those external things are not about what your individual purpose is but you need to live in order to realize that. 🙂  Soon you’ll be an adult and on your own. Stick it out and do things that you personally enjoy on your own free time. Take care of yourself and treat yourself like a best friend, okay? ❤

As a former high school bullying victim I just wish I could tell Dylan and Eric that high school isn’t their whole life? I mean I got pushed around and teased everyday at school but once I got to university everything changed. No one cares how you dress or look, no one cares if you were a jock or a nerd or popular. It’s a fresh start… I just wish they had someone to tell them that before they did something so fucking stupid.

The thing is, you could’ve told them that stuff but it wouldn’t have meant anything to them in the mindset they were in.  They had already decided that doing what society expects you/us to do – like going to college after graduating high school, had no personal value for them in the grand scheme of things.  That is what everyone just does without thought. It is the acceptable future life in store for the teenage “robots” and “zombies” processed through the system.  Society wants you to jump through all of these hoops and while most would just do what is expected of them, they were questioning “why?…what’s the point? “ How is falling in line and following the rules like everyone else going to make their life better or more fulfilling.  They saw everything as empty and bleak most especially their futures.

I just wish D&E’s lives hadn’t ended in such a violent way. Even though they did a horrible thing that I wouldn’t even think of condoning, they were good kids just got lost in their anger. 😞

We should not forget too that they planned to take so many more lives with them than just the 13 they managed along with themselves. Yes, I wish that they hadn’t chosen to end others lives and their own in such a horrible, destructive violent way.  They were brilliant kids. They were bored and jaded with life and were given the message that they had no meaning or purpose and so they felt others shouldn’t too. They had the potential to do good in this world but they weren’t exactly ‘good’ given the crooked potential of what they planned to do over the course of a year. Ultimately, they were victims of their own mono-focused pain and desperation and made a horribly bad, irreparable decision. The Lost Boys gave into the Dark Side of fear, hatred and wrathful anger.

I don’t know if this is a compliment, but you really have a way with words. In a reassuring and optimistic way. Even if things go horribly wrong, there’s still hope and we gotta move forward. That’s the vibe you give me at least! So thanks for that, I really need it sometimes.

Aww, It makes me happy that my ‘way with words’ gives you some semblance of comfort and hope, to want to continue on with this life existence that we’ve chosen.  Thank you for sharing this!  Hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend! ❤

Do you think the “point of no return” was after they bought their guns or were they already too far gone before that to be saved?

Yeah, I guess you could say there was a certain sort of commitment once they’d acquired their guns.  But I don’t think they were really too far gone until January ‘99 when they resigned to the inevitability of the end of the school year and NBK approaching quickly on the horizon and with nothing to stop them. Mentally and emotionally they were immersed in imminent destruction.
