It’s funny that I was literally just talking about that this afternoon with @thedragonrampant lol That’s the kind of stuff that happens to me aaaalll the time with this blog. Ears are burning. 😉 I think that both would’ve enjoyed just getting in the car and going on a long, cross-country road trip adventure. I think Dylan strongly desired to get away from his hometown because he was literally sick of everything on so many levels. This is why the fantasy of leaving his hometown and going far away to college was more appealing than just pretending and telling mom and dad he was satisfied with going to a community college. Arizona may as well have been another planet when you compare its hot, dry, and perpetually sunny climate to Colorado with its potential for gloomy weather and rain as well as cold and snow and very long winters. Dylan simply just craved to ‘get away’ metaphorically. So, I think he did desire that road trip, like Eric – to be able to just get far away from home in which he could be out on the open road, driving free and easy with his jams and to be able to just stop anywhere that stoked his curiosity. He needed that sort of stimulation; sameness was just stifling. Traveling across the country, he could experience new and different surroundings and meet new people and make him feel more alive than he’d ever been in his 17 year routine in suburbia. The world is so much bigger than the small, conservative, narrow-minded community that they lived in and became cynical about and they needed to set foot outside of it and to infuse their lives with adventure and new people and places to interact with.
Were the molotovs made with hanging rags? How did they transport them during the shooting without spilling gas all over?

I tend not to think that E & D used the traditional type of molotovs with the rags sticking out of the end. It would probably be too potentially messy carrying those around in their bags or on their person and to risk leakage. It would appear that the molotovs they built out of snapple bottles (as seen here of these two “Mango Madness” lol Snapple bottles found in Dylan’s car that the bottles were heavily duct taped with a sort of firecracker-like fuse duct tape attached along the side of the bottle.
I get a feel that Dylan would’ve been more like a serial killer and Eric would’ve been a mass shooter or a mass bomber if Columbine never happened BUT they still ended up becoming killers. Do you feel the same?
Dylan a serial killer? wat. lol

I don’t feel the same at all. I do not think either would’ve become killers had they been separated from one another. Each reinforced the destructive tendencies of the other.
But I’m curious to know what makes you feel this way?

just out of curiosity, do your friends and family know about your interest in columbine/this blog? what do they think of it? hope you’re having a lovely day, miss e-c!!
Yes, this was just answered. Not sure if you’re the same anon that re-asked in another manner? Some are understanding and empathetic and some don’t exactly get where I’m coming from but hey, they love me anyway. 😉 And that’s as it should be, people that are close to you might not agree but they should be unconditional regardless. Their journey is not my own.
I don’t really have respect for families who forget all about the tragedy and ignore it as if their son never existed (like the Harris and Elliot Rodger family) I say just accept it and move on don’t pretend it never happened.
I hear you. Some just simply don’t have the emotional tools in their bag to deal with and process through it all in a healthy way. And probably a lot of that has to do with their own upbringing and the inability to reflect too deeply upon much of anything. It’s too much too bear to immerse and wallow in something so painful, to recognize and own it. To acknowledge it head-on is like pointing a giant arrow back at themselves as they are half responsible for creating a human being that would go on to decimate the lives of other human beings. Easier to move on and forget or to nod with the public concensus that the “monster” that lived under their roof which they raised was something beyond their control.
Sometimes this month, I’m taking a trip to see a relative and she wants to take me to the columbine. She’s lives in the springs, but she grew up in Littleton. I asked her why she wanted to go there and sure as shit, she was a year ahead of Dylan and Eric and wanted to see her old class photos.
It’s funny how that sort of thing happens, huh – the ol’ Seven Degrees of E & D is right around the corner when and where you least expect it. So, you’re saying she was a class ahead of them attending Columbine? If so, that would be a very fine opportunity to consider interviewing her and posting it online. 😉 The interesting thing about her being a year ahead of E & D makes for very interesting conversation as this would’ve been the heyday of the TCM ‘97-98. It would be interesting to see what stories she might reveal regarding the toxic climate in the school and the rampant favoritism and bullying that went on between the jocks and the TCM as well as other students that got picked on too.
Hey, ms Everlasting! You’re in this community for a pretty long time if i understand correctly, would you say Columbine got more “popular” in the past couple years or so?
I think the Columbiner thing has always been sort of underground, fringe popular and even in the early days right after the tragedy this undercurrent began. But perhaps in recent years as shootings have become as passé as the ice cream flavor of the week, it has become, unfortunately, more of a pop cultural thing now. I’ve seen this recent trend primarily in Russia and some latin based countries. It’s really wacko the way they’ve latched on to dressing up like E & D as if they are an iconic ComiCon-like duo. I remember that one YT video where they were filming a mock school shooting with dudes dressed up like E & D and the girls were screaming with hysterical glee as they ran and hid under desks while the two mock pointed guns at them. That’s just mindless weirdness. It’s like they’ve reinvented the two into villiainesque anime characters and are out of touch with the fact that these two committed a horrible atrocity that ruined many peoples’ lives. Perhaps we’re all just becoming disconnected with reality the more time we spend watching stuff online and making memes out of everything good and bad. Nothing has a true reality to it anymore and everything is trivialized into nothing more than jaded entertainment.
Hello miss e-c i know this is a dylan blog but i wanted your opinion on something eric related. I see people usually making fun of him because of his “natural selection” idea which is actually artificial selection. However, i get the feeling that he definitely understood that difference but still chose to call it natural because he felt that what they were doing was something fated, something that was meant to happen, like the universe brought this mission and power upon him. What do you think?
Hiya 🙂 Your theory is an interesting one but I don’t see his version of the term as having to do with fate but instead, more like Eric assuming the ‘super power’ of himself becoming ‘the natural force of nature’ itself, like a random tornado coming through and picking off the underserving human waste. Some students would come upon him and be at the unlucky wrong place at the wrong time. I spoke about this briefly before
Do you think the “kill them all” on Eric Harris’ website could be a reference to Metallica’s first album since he liked some metal?
I believe Kill ‘Em All is a Doom level in which you go completely batshit nuts.
But I’m sure Eric knew the Metallica reference too as he had been into metal before he discovered the joys of German Techno.
Did Dylan normally call Rebby Eric or Reb? Also did any other of Eric’s friends call use this nickname?
Did someone say Rebby?

Well, I only wished Dyl called him that.
But no.
Dylan called him ‘REB’ when he was in Eric’s company but referred to him as ‘Eric’ when he wasn’t. Eric tried to get other friends to call him by his nick too but I get the feeling that that practice never stuck…very well. lol Which earned him the name Rebby.
Were you the same age as E&D when Columbine happened?
Inquiring minds want to know…..
Eric is manipulating people in death as he did in life
Well, just remember, if you buy into such a statement, you’re letting him. 😉
At least I’m not the only old fart around these parts lol. Do you ever find your self missing the old logging dial tone?
Haha. Well, I don’t know about that but.. Oh yeah, nothing like the comforting Shhhhhhhhhh bing bong bing bong dial tone of a 14.4 or 56K. Good times. 😉
Hey sorry if this is too personal a question, but do you think of Dylan often when you are going about your normal, day to day activities?
I am often reminded of Dylan, yes.
I’m an INFP, though I feel inadequate given that I was never perceived as “gifted” by my teachers. Does this make me inferior? While I am somewhat gifted in regards to literature, I’m not very good at other academic subjects, and this stereotype feels disorienting. I feel so disconnected from everything and everyone.
Well, your sense of feeling inadequate, inferior, disoriented, and disconnected tends to be classic INFP characteristics. Congratulations anon! 🙂 Understand, your personal perception, or discerning high standards I should say, that you should be seen as ‘gifted’ in some way academically, in order to feel fulfilled or adequately recognized and validated as of importance is the way you tend to personally define your own self. But you see, it’s how you choose to think about it all in your head. You think about it as if not fitting in is a bad thing which then causes you to spiral and react negatively about yourself. As an INFP you should also covet the fact that because you don’t fit the criteria of what is given the stamp of approval by society (aka teachers) it makes you damn unique and your differences therefore special. An INFP is capable of owning and coveting this fact rather than throwing themselves under the bus as inferior and obsolete. 🙂 You are gifted in literature and well, that’s your thing which defines you. You’ll have other things to offer this world and did you ever stop to think that maybe it has nothing to do with you jumping through all the correct hoops academically which has everyone applauding you as superior within criteria of ‘in the box’ curriculum? Being great and perfect at all things is just plain cookie cutter. Be the best at what you’re good at and okay with the rest. Rather than following the straight and narrow path, follow the meandering one which is your personal signature as a human being on this earth. From INFP to another. ❤
How would Dylan react to a girl randomly snatching his baseball cap off his head?
His face would flush various shades of pink followed by a grin/chuckle and ’heyyy!’
hi i’m getting back into the columbine case again & i wanted to know if there’s any new information to be learnt? i kind of got bored of reading the same stuff over and over & i thought you were the most informed person to ask :)))
How long ago did you leave it? Hmm, well, the last big thing was the CVA video showing the two walking in the cafeteria to plant the propane bombs and that ‘new’ information came out the summer of 2016. This is a 19 year old case which is officially closed by Jeffco. So, pretty much everything discussed about it is just looking at what we already know from different angles. And as with the bomb planting video evidence any ‘new’ find is solely up to us as an amateur discovery.
Did Jeff Kass really follow Mr. Harris into a urinal? Omg wtf!
Into a restroom to take a pee right next to him at the urinals. Wayne was unflappable about not offering any info when asked a few questions. Rightfully so. While Kass has a great book, his tactics were too aggressive at times. The Klebolds were offended by his unethical approach. Nonetheless, he does offer much more solid, factual information than Cullen’s book.
