I heard that Sue at one point thought Dylan could’ve been brainwashed by Eric because they found military brain washing videos in Eric’s possession, is this true?

I’ve seen that discussion floating around on Tumblr. But I feel it’s rather important to read it within the context of her story and not just by itself to fully understand her considering/clinging to such conspiracy theory type things. Perhaps I’ll post the audio of her reading it too as well because you can glean so much more by way of her voice inflection.

CHAPTER 10 The End of Denial

“Right now all I want to do is die. Tom keeps saying he wishes he had never been born. Dylan was so loved, but he didn’t feel loved. I don’t think he loved anyone or anything. How did it happen? I didn’t know the boy I saw [on those
tapes] today. My relationship with Dylan in my head and heart has changed.”—Journal entry, October 1999

“In October, six months after Columbine, the sheriff’s department agreed to share the evidence they’d collected. They invited Tom and me to come in for a presentation of the material. My reaction to this news was complicated. After months of speculation and rumor and misinformation, it was a relief to know we would finally have the truth. At the same time (and for the same reason), I was petrified. As I wrote the week before: The meeting will take more courage than I can muster. I can only have my own little construct of what really happened until

I speak with the investigators. I don’t want them to destroy the Dylan I am holding on to in my mind.

Two days before we were scheduled to go in, Gary Lozow called. The sheriff’s department had told him they would be presenting video evidence as part of their report, and wanted to warn us that seeing it might well be “more painful than April twentieth.”

Gary assumed they were referring to surveillance tape. Tom said he’d refuse to watch footage of the massacre. I couldn’t believe we were even discussing such a thing. If I had to see Dylan killing people, I’d go mad.

The night before the meeting, Tom and I compiled a list of questions. We were still convinced that Dylan had either been a reluctant participant or accidentally become entangled in something bigger than he understood at the time. We’d heard a rumor that military training materials on brainwashing techniques had been found in the Harris home, which had refueled our belief that Dylan had been another victim of the tragedy. It was plausible; Mr. Harris did have a military background. I entertained fantasies that we’d be able to hold public memorial service.

But that was only a moment. I was coming to understand how fragile a construct we had created. Denial had been a necessary—indeed, perhaps a lifesaving—defense mechanism for me. As time went on, though, it was becoming more difficult to sustain. Much of what was reported in the media was wrong, which reinforced our skepticism. But we knew that Dylan had participated in the purchase of guns, and there were many credible eyewitness reports of Dylan shooting kids, and of the hateful things he’d said. The cracks in my cobbled-together belief system were beginning to widen. As I suspected, the meeting at the sheriff’s office would blow them wide open.”

“Today is really like the end of my life as I knew it before. If I learn horrible things tomorrow that I must carry with me from now on, I will look back on today and remember it as the end of a better time. We worked on our questions tonight. Byron gave me a long hug to help me face tomorrow. I hope tomorrow does not destroy the memory of the boy I loved. I don’t know what this video is they want us to see.” —Journal entry, October 1999

– Sue Klebold “A Mother’s Reckoning”

Am I the only one upset about Robyns interview? She seems so numb, and the interviewer was so rude and trying to get her to say something bad about them

Yeah, Robyn seems kind of calmly detached like she’s going through the motions of the interview. That ‘rude interviewer’ is basically the way Diane Sawyer poses questions interrogates people.  Sue was dealt the same sort of insinuating type questions as well on 20/20 with her very first interview Feb 2016.(I always felt like Oprah would’ve done 100 times a better job of interviewing Sue for her emotional intelligence and empathic compassionate style. You can also bet we wouldn’t .known more inside scoop, personal anecdotes about Dylan with Sue had Oprah been the interviewer.)  Diane Sawyer has always been kind of a cold bitch asking pointed questions.  I spoke a bit more about my feeling on Robyn’s interview here.

You think there will ever be another friend duo mass shooting.

The duo thing is rare. Generally, pairings aren’t always on the same page nor as loyal. to a fault.  In any case, if anything comes along, it’ll never be quite the likes of these two. And I’d wager they’ll be trying to model themselves after E & D and pretentiously so.  I think Eric and Dylan are a one time deal that happened at the right-wrong certain point in history which made a well, what else can I say here? except ‘lasting impression on the world’.

Why are they dorks but still seem so cool.

I think their ordinary-ness, their dorky, flawed relatability in attempting to be individualistic yet at the same time, not pretentiously so, is what sort of makes them seem ‘cool’ – even though what they ended up doing SO not makes them cool.   If they felt like outsider geeks while alive they are eternally on the outside now.  They damned themselves from this world forever.

Asking for the second time; do you think if they hadn’t committed suicide and Eric or both got the death penalty, Dylan/his parents would have tried to clear him out by saying he was a follower? I haven’t found any posts about this when I searched for it

Much as they might’ve wanted to see it that way in the early days – that Dylan must have somehow been a coerced follower – there would simply be no way they could remain in that state of deluding themselves. The overwhelming evidence would’ve shown them over time in the trial that Dylan was an active participant in the crime, an equal partner along side Eric. Their son and Eric had spent numerous months planning for this malicious event. It was premeditated methodically and very calculatedly.   Evidence would’ve supported the fact that Dylan proactively had intent for this to happen. The boys openly wished on video spoken to a camera they desired to murder massive quantities of casualities at their school.

Dylan declared to the camera on the Basement Tapes:
We’re hoping. We’re hoping. I hope we kill 250 of you. It will be the most nerve-racking
15 minutes of my life, after the bombs are set and we’re waiting to charge through
the school. Seconds will be like hours. I can’t wait. I’ll be shaking like a leaf.”

Sure he, along with Eric, were laying it on thick and playing it up for the camera but at the end of the day,  Dylan’s actions demonstrate that he showed up that day at the school with Eric and both attempted to put their words into action.

There is no way that Sue and Tom could possibly try and justify that what their son had done could be swept under the rug and chalked up to him simply being led by his good friend. Nor do I think they would want to take the spineless way out as they are good people with integrity. As much as it would be excruciatingly painful for them to see their son get processed through the justice system, they would understand that Dylan must answer to his crime.  This wasn’t just a felony and stealing equipment from a van. This was murdering multiple people. They would have to suffer and see it all through in regards to whatever justice the law met for their boy.  I think that they would know too that the community and world would hate them even more (if that’s even fathomable) for trying to get their upper middle class, ‘spoiled’ son off the hook as simply a follower and a minor. And lastly, they would understand just how insulting to the victims and their families that would be.

You literally get so triggered when people ask you Eric info, like yeah you’re a Dylan blog we know but there’s no need to be rude. You literally paint him out to be and see him like an angel, when in reality he was no better than Eric. I seriously loved your blog but you’re becoming pathetic and petty now.

If you so ‘seriously loved my blog’ you wouldn’t be resorting to “pathetic and petty” tactics pulling out the tired old Eric vs Dylan favoritism card.  This is just like so left field (literally remotely has nothing relevant to do with what I just addressed) and such a plodding attempt at trolling me, it’s ridick.  Don’t bother again unless you’re able to buck up and come off anon.

Hey, no need to be rude. We all know you’re a Dylan blog but the anon was just correcting wrong information, chill.

Oh pssht. “wrong information” my arse.  Facts are irrelevant when it comes to facetious content.  The only thing wrong and rude here is your assumption that the anon is correcting wrong information. How is that even your place?  Do you even know which post is being discussed?  I’d bet not.  Second thought, you’re prolly one and the same anon…. lol

I wanted to ask you if you knew what kind of shoes Eric wears but I used the search option and found this has been asked before. Unfortunately the answer is incorrect. You can clearly see in CHS highway patrol and Harris in Columbine, that his shoes have laces. I can’t tell if they’re 6″ work boots or large black tennis shoes either way they are large compared to normal sneakers (see CHS highway patrol). In I’m Not Ashamed, they show Eric as wearing boots (I know it’s not real) but seemsreasonab

Uh, the answer was a joke dude. lol. And why are you bringing this to me if you are so in the know. In case you hadn’t noticed (though I’m not sure how you couldn’t), I’m not an Eric blog. I don’t go into minute details on that dude. If you have the expert insight and claim to know specifically what shoes he wears than by all means, why not expend effort on posting these details on your own blog rather than nitpick on mine? 🙄 Sheesh.

Why did dylan write “set car bomb for 11:18” if the cafe bombs were set for only a minute before that?

That was only a rough draft of their schedule but ultimately the car bombs ended up being set to go off at noon. Setting the car bombs off only one minute after the cafeteria bombs wouldn’t have killed cops and first responders as they wouldn’t have even been on the scene just yet. I’m sure they revised their plans a few times and refined them even just the night before by phone.

Given the timing of these bombs, it makes perfect sense as to why they returned to the library around noon and went to its expansive windows waiting for the show to go down with a sweet, perfect view. They were hoping that their car bombs would explode but instead? yet another massive flop and so it ended up becoming a shootout with the cops just down below. Followed by their suicide around 8 minutes after that.

Dylan Klebold’s Firearm Activity

melanch0licpumpkin:

image

dylan klebold used an intratec TEC-DC9 9-mm semi-automatic handgun and a double-barrel savage 311-D sawed-off shotgun during the columbine shooting (04/20/1999).

TEC-9 activity: 3 rounds outside of the school, 31 rounds inside the school, and 21 rounds inside the library. total: 55 discharges.

shotgun activity: 2 rounds outside of the school, 4 times inside of the school, and 6 rounds inside the library. total: 12 discharges.

the last round dylan fired was the TEC-9 to his left temple.

TOTAL SHOTS FIRED: 67

Idk why i didn’t even realise that they could clearly see to the fronk of the school across the cafeteria lol, i bet that was one of the reasons why they were relentlessly trying to shoot up the bombs in there, give a ”good show” to all the people outside!

While waiting for the show they were hoping for outside as eaches car had two 20 propane tank bombs that were also overdue to explode and take out cops and first responders. But yeah, they were also very much making a very concerted effort to get the failed bombs to blow in the cafeteria to the point of obsession for Eric most especially.

Is the rampart range video cut up because it seems edited, also where’s the Hi Point?

Yes, Eric and Dylan had been editing the full footage in video production class and boasting/showing it to others while doing it.

Anonymous said:Why didn’t eric shoot his carbine at rampart

Eric did shoot his high point 9 mm carbine at Rampart Range. He shot his carbine in a squatting position in 2:08.  This is the position he was in while exchanging fire with the CHS Security Resource Officer Neil Gardner.
