That’s Nate Dykeman talking incessantly to Dylan. Dylan’s turning his head all ‘huh?’ ‘wha?’ as Nate chatters on like he’s on speed. lol  Also, we honestly don’t know why they were in King Soopers grocery store on 4/9 aka Eric’s bday. People seem to assume that they’re buying anything from cake or presents for Eric but it’s entirely possible they’re just doing the usual morning donut run before school. We simply don’t know for fact. And you’re welcome gurly 😉

I’ve seen Sue speak so many times, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen her speak live about her own struggles with suicidal thoughts after the Columbine tragedy. It was honestly one of the most emotional things I’ve ever seen. She’s so strong and so courageous.

My question on what may have changed Dylan’s mind on NBK to which you answered “psychedelic plant medicine” lol Unless you were being serious, in which case my misunderstanding ;). But i understand if you simply don’t want to answer my question since you get so many here. I do apologize though if I’m missing something obvious that could be found using the e-c search.

 Oh no, I was most definitely serious when I answered you.  Why wouldn’t I be? That was not ‘sarcasm’. Believe me, you’ll know when that happens. 😉 

 Finding a girlfriend and falling into infatuation that late/close to NBK wouldn’t have necessarily have been the quick fix needed.

I think he would’ve needed an epiphany,  something that would’ve jolted his present reality lightening quick. It would’ve had to have been something that changed his perception internally and not something externally as with meeting a girl – or not something that would’ve taken time and patience like therapy. 

I don’t know how to describe it but whenever I see quotes from Dylan’s old friend describing how sweet a boy he was before the shooting, it makes my heart heavy like damn why did you throw your life away like that?

I feel ya and I’ve been there before in deep thought and feels..as so many of us have.  But you know, he threw it all away because he didn’t see or understand the value/worth of his life.  NBK was just the exclamation point, a way to drive home how excluded and hurt he felt. 

I apologize if my question was redundant and something you’ve answered before (that’s the only reason I can fathom based on your sarcastic response). It’s a bit of a broad question though so what should I type in the e-c search to narrow it down to what I’m looking for? ‘Nbk’ and ‘suicide’ just bring up a whole bunch of different type of questions to sift through. Thank you for all your efforts that you’ve put into this blog by the way.

What is your question?  🙂  I have no problem with people that make a concerted effort to find things on there own. This blog is massive so one-word searches aren’t always going to get you to where you want to be.  And thanks for that. It’s nice you’re appreciative of the blood, sweat and tears that goes into E-C. ❤

Tbh I wish Sue Klebold was my mom. She’s so nice, sweet and caring. My own mother betrayed me, abused me, bullied me and doesn’t even care about her daughter aka me. I’m glad I don’t live or hear from her anymore. Dylan was so lucky to have a caring mom like Sue ❤️

I’m so sorry to hear that. 😕 Well, Sue can be your ultimate symbolic mom in spirit. 💖 Yes, Dylan was very lucky to have her as his momma. I feel like he’s always known that about her too – but at the time, he was too mono-focused on his mental torment and couldn’t fully appreciate much of anything let alone acknowledge a sense of feeling blessed with his gift of a mom. Thanks for sharing.❣️

Although I’ve been reading a hell of a lot about Eric and Dylan I still can’t help but thinking that Eric somehow forced Dylan into the shooting. Is it just me? Dylan had these thoughts, yes, but I still think he would’ve probably killed himself alone in the mountains or so at some point. I sort of hate Eric for that.

I think many people such as yourself tend to believe this myth, that Dylan was somehow forced or coerced into the shooting by Eric.  Hell, even Dylan’s own family and friends held on to this theory for quite some time.  But the fact of the matter is that Dylan not only showed up that day with Eric, he was also described as hurrying up Eric’s goodbye speech on the very last Basement Tape. He was snapping his fingers at Eric to get a move on because it was time. Consider too that Dylan was whooping it up and laughing hysterically during the massacre. Of the two, he was, by and large, the more jovial one whooping it up and laughing hysterically.  This is a fact because classmate stated as such in their eyewitness accounts. Dylan was leisurely walking around outside the cafeteria on the lawn tossing pipe bombs and shooting his gun/s in a very chill manner.  If he wanted to kill himself – and Eric and the massacre be damned –  than why didn’t Dylan just go up to the mountains and simply just end his life?  Dylan had purchased guns months in advance (not to mention had pipe bombs stored in his bedroom). If he wanted to only kill himself and not do NBK – well, then, why didn’t he use any of those means to end his own life?   The fact of the matter is that Dylan needed to do the massacre in order to ensure that he had to die – either by his own hand or the cops – and the only way to do that was to commit a major atrocity so that there was no way for hesitation or vascillation.  They went in to the school one last time; there was no leaving again.  It was a certainty.  He had gotten disconnected and numbed out with humanity and people in general – most especially those at his school. So, he had reached a point mentally where he was completely okay with the fact that people had to die, and that he would be going out in style – in a blaze of glory by blowing up and killing people along side Eric so that it would seal his fate and ensure that his death would be certain on that day. He would be killing and dying with a friend and so it would make things that much easier doing it both together.  Killing people and transforming himself into a full-on, bad-ass, vigilante criminal in this humanity was the exchange for his death and the reward of freedom, love and peace on the other side.  Ultimately, on 4/20, it was Dylan that was far more ready, willing, and able to plunge into NBK than Eric was (who rambled on too long saying a mix of ‘sorry everyone I love’ and goodbye for the camera).  This would be Dylan’s death day party and so what better way to die than to make a mark on the world, a lasting impression, and have the last word the symbol of “The Society” that was his oppressive school.
