What exactly were Dylan’s kinks and/or fetishes? Also, did he mention any of it in his journals?

As referenced in Dylan’s journal:

From there we can essentially extrapolate some of his preferred kinks/fetish genre tastes. I think from ‘97 up to‘99, he began to gravitate towards these specific themes more heavily whereas earlier on it was just various and sundry porn.

Pupil: I talked to Eric once or twice. He seemed nice but tended to not talk much, when he did, he was very outspoken and full of opinions.
Dylan I talked to a lot. He was really shy and wouldn’t open his mouth. He’d take about ten minutes to actually say something. But after that, he wouldn’t stop talking.
Both of them were extremely intelligent, especially when it came to computers.

Pupil: He very much indeed was clumsy. He’d trip up and pretend that he meant to.
He’d also make lots of jokes if things got serious.
He was very caring, I was pushed by another student and he kept asking if I was okay, I was because they didn’t mean it but he was concerned.

Q: What did Eric and Dylan like? What food did they eat?

Pupil: They had a very different taste from everyone else. Dylan used to talk about Nine Inch Nails a lot, and Eric would wear a KMFDM shirt.
Food wise, Dylan would eat almost anything. One time I was eating potato chips and he kept grabbing a handful and said sorry all the time. It was pretty funny.

Pupil: I don’t think I ever saw him around the girls he did like but he did say he had a big crush on someone and he hoped they’d realise and would like him back.

Q: What did Dylan usually do on a typical day? Did he go out or stay at home a lot?

Pupil: I’m not entirely sure. He’d normally complain about work and things like that. He told me he wanted to try write some poetry, but he didn’t want to share it incase people thought he was weird.

Columbine was the result of the accidental meeting of two completely different boys who happened to form one disastrous combination: one boy who wanted to commit mass murder and was willing to die to get what he wanted; one boy who wanted to die and was willing to commit mass murder to get his wish. The arrest brought them together, their culture encouraged them, their environment did not stop them.

Do you think Eric and Dylan would have liked tumblr?

Mm, well, I don’t know if ‘like’ is really the word to use here? I think they’d be wary of most popular social media especially the mainstream variety like say Facebook *gags* or “fucking gay” Pinterest. Tumblr has more questionable tags which they might’ve gravitated towards out of fascination and might’ve reblogged some stuff for shock value. Still, I don’t think they’d really be a fan of the basic function of Tumblr: “the reblog” – aka – sheeple regurgitating other peoples visual images ad nauseum. To Eric, it would amount to becoming a copycat of everyone else’s reblog of a reblog of a reblog stuff; he’d prefer originality on his blog dominion. I could see him preferring to post a blog of something and let others do the copying. Can’t you just see him watermarking his intellectual property with his email address on it, wanting to be sure people knew he was the originator of something or to ‘give cred’? Dyl might get a kick at some morbid stuff, badass weapons and Res Dogs movie ani-gifs. In a moment of boredom, he might log on occasionally, like every couple of weeks, and reblog stuff he thought was cool and against the grain of society, but again, I don’t think he’d be spending a whole lot of time on Tumblr. Unlike, Eric, Dyl wasn’t even one to roam AOL much as he preferred the challenge of hacking the fuck out of it instead. Basically what I’m saying is, Tumblr is a lot of mindless reblogs of other people’s shit. These two might get a kick out of some of the images they came across, but I think ultimately, they would prefer originality and challenges in an environment of their own creation. I also think they’d find Vine fucking annoying (as do I) and entertainment for the mindless zombie masses. But I digress.. 😉

Do you have any idea if Dylan had contacts?

When Dylan got his drivers license October 16, 1997, the dossier mentions corrective lenses.  However, it is possible that after his first (and last) license permit was issued, he might’ve worn contact lenses.  The drivers license data often isn’t updated regularly enough to reflect such changes.  Of course, we don’t know to what extent Dylan’s vision needed correction  He may have only needed a slight bit of correction – but then again, if you look at the close-up photo of him with glasses when he’s attending Devon’s bday party, you can see that the lenses are fairly thick and they distort his eyes making them seem smaller. Usually, thick lenses automatically suggest that he needed a fair to heavy amount of optical correction. It seems a good possibility that he wore contact licenses during the day while at school and work so he wouldn’t have to deal with the ‘four eyes geek’ comments from jocks and such.  He could also switch to his signature sunglasses while wearing contacts. Who wants to go through the hassle of switching off the eyeglasses to put on sunglasses? By the end of the day when Dyl got home, he’d pull out his beater eye glasses, giving his eyes a much needed break while chilling out in the comfort of his own home. The video footage that Judy Brown filmed shows Dyl with his glasses on while working sound in theater.  I would bet this was in the evening when he was doing pre-production for plays so he just preferred to wear his glasses as it was probably more comfortable around theater peers.
