How do you think Dylan lost all that weight towards the end of his life? I heard he lost like close to 40 pounds. Do you think it was just lack of eating/caring to eat or was there something else in play?

Depression + anxiety (about life in general and approaching NBK) + a fast teenage metabolism. I also speculated that he may have used stimulants to keep him going throughout the day at school (and work evening after) while running on empty with not enough sleep.  Speculations on his large appetite combined with rapid weight loss were entertained here and here. You can start here with the two significant posts I did concerning his 37 lb weight loss.  You can also E-C Search ‘eating disorder’ ‘weight loss’, etc. to find more posts on the subject.

Why didn’t brooks go to Dylan’s funeral?

Jeffco was breathing down his neck trying to falsely finger him as complicit to the attack. CHS students – even the school itself – ostracized him and a few of their other friends. The school told quite a few of them they were not welcome back at the school.  So, it would not only not look good for him to risk going to Dylan’s funeral but it might endanger his own life. Seriously. E & D’s closest friends got death threats.  Brooks chose Rachel’s funeral to attend but not just because he had to. He genuinely liked her plus the mutual friend he went happened to be her ex bf (who nearly collapsed as they walked past her casket.) . Too risky personally to attend a killer friends funeral.

Hey – sorry to ask but where do you get all your informations from? That’s so incredible😍😊 thank you for that!

Simple research?  Various media sources, news and online articles, interviews and last but not least, the 11K.  Additionally, I also provide my speculations and intuitive leanings to help fill in the blanks in relation to the concrete info we don’t have (just yet. haha).   Your amazed reaction is appreciated – thank you! 🙂 ❤

I get sympathizing with the killers and showing empathy..just plain out treating them, which they were, a person. BUUUUUT, celebrating the birthday of them? idek man, that seems a bit much

I agree in that celebration seems far too jubilant.  However, I have nothing against acknowledging and recognizing their birthdays. After all, they were human beings just like everyone else. They were two young desperate and foolish boys that made an Irreversible mistake in the last hour of their lives. Their birthday is a sad event, an annual echo that marks yet another year they would’ve/could’ve been here with their wives, kids, friends and family.  In observing their birthday, it is more for us the living to reflect and ponder, than it is meant for them.

It’s hard to really believe that Columbine happened just because of bullying. Almost all Eric and Dylan friends were bullied and they didn’t commit this horrible act.

Well, that’s not really true. I don’t think it’s an accurate statement to say “Almost all of Eric and Dylan’s friends were bullied”.  Some of their friends were but certainly not all.  And secondly, it is impossible to compare the resiliency factor of bully victims as equal across the board.  Individuals reactions will vary based on personality, self esteem and other circumstances. Some internalize the pain and struggle through (or end it) while others, externalize it and become bullies themselves – and a tiny percentage, like E & D, decide to get even in an attempt to take their power back.

is there any evidence that Dylan and Eric listened to any other KMFDM albums other than XTORT and Symbols? i find most of their KMFDM mentions + lyrics come from both those albums only?

Oh no definitely more than just those two albums.  After all, they were fans – well, particularly Eric.

They also most definitely would’ve listened to Naïve (’90) which contained two versions of Godlike. They made a few references to the song including on the Basement Tapes.

Dylan sketched BRUTE in his day planner, which is a song off Nihil (’95).

We have a scan of the receipt from Angelo’s record store in which Eric purchased Agogo (’98).

We don’t have any specific evidence here but I wouldn’t put it past them to own KMFDM’s ‘Best of’ compilation from ‘98 entitled Retro (’98).

And in all probability they likely knew the song SUCKS as it’s a classic KMFDM parody anthem which is off of Angst (’93) and eveeerrrybody that’s into this band knows the lyrics ‘Kill Mother-Fucking Depeche Mode!“
