Okay so eric wanted to fuck someone real hard, dylan didn’t write anything like that, but did he still want sex?

Dylan first and foremost wanted love, not sex.  Yes, he had normal sexual desires like every boy his age, and he had strong reactions to porn but getting off sexually while watching a bunch strangers wasn’t what he was looking for. That was emptiness. This is why he tried to abstain from masturbation and porn.  He was seeking a connection with a girl and wanted ‘true love’.

I thought he grew out his hair to look like the main character from Natural Born Killers?

People assume that. I’m sure there was some emulation on his part because he did like that movie but it’s not a known official reason for why he decided to sport long hair or anything.  I think there were many reasons for his decision to grow his hair long and that was just one of ‘em.   Another is that I don’t think he liked his hair short because then it’d tend to be super curly. Longer hair weighed down all the curls so it looked straighter and hid his ears which were on the large side.  He also probably wanted to disassociate himself with the conservative prep types at school and sporting longer hair was a way to make himself stand out from the normies he had begun to dislike.  But of course, none of these are factual reasons either but what I’m basically saying is that there were various reasons for why he likely felt that longer hair suited him better besides just imitating Mickey Knox. 🙂 

Was Dylan’s decision to grow his hair out a reaction to his van theft arrest?

Maybe indirectly but not consciously. Dylan was just at the perfect age where he wanted to define his own personal aesthetic preferences and not just go along with his parents insisting that he get his hair conservatively cut short and neat and him just following along being that obedient kid. I think he preferred his hair longer and he felt more like a man that needed to define himself so he was rebelling in small ways but that is within the normal range for a 16-17-year-old.  

“Dylan can yell real good”. Man he had a scary voice when mad. You hear him a lot in the library call compared to Eric. Eric’s voice is too high. Dylan’s Deep and explosive. I’d be scared if I saw a 6’4 guy with a baseball hat and long hair and a trench coat screaming than some Manlet acting tough.

Well, I don’t know, I think the two were both scary in each their own way. Dylan was over-the-top and melodramatically intimidating and while Eric may not have had a booming voice even while yelling, his quiet deadly accuracy more than made up for him not sounding as threatening. Dylan had amazing vocal projection and he knew that fact; Eric had boasted about it for him plenty times. You could tell that Dylan relished belting nasty lines (like something you’d hear from out of a movie “Evvvveeerrybody get up NOW! you’re all mine!”) at the top of his lungs. I think the takeaway is that Dylan was posturing more than Eric was attempting. Dylan was also letting loose and having his last party, now becoming the antithesis of how quiet, caution and timidly he lived his entire life.

As depicted in Zero Hour and in some of Dylan’s drawings, was the silencer ever used for the Tec-9? Thanks!

I believe that Dylan had the silencer and they were messing around with it at Rampart Range. However, that said, Dylan didn’t use the silencer during the massacre. I’m sure they wanted the sounds of their guns to be heard threateningly loud and clear and especially the ‘pop-POP-pop-POP! sound of Dylan’s semi-automatic handgun. At Rampart Range, the gang jokingly referred to it in the video as a “#1 convenience store robbing ‘ghetto gun’.”  A silent gun would be no fun for them on the day. At the end of the day, Zero Hour just isn’t super accurate.

Was Chris Morris closer to Dylan or Eric? Why do you think so? Thank you so much for all the work that goes into this whole blog!

Closer to Eric without a doubt. Chris and Eric had similar hot head personalities. Both were bossy, easily annoyed and quick-tempered. They liked passing the time chit-chatting at work and such about the various ways to make explosives from the various infamous internet manuals or discussed the different types of weaponry they’d like to acquire. I’d say that Eric modeled Chris’s militant-style aesthetic or was at least inspired by the look he sported (beret, trench and combat boots) and so Eric himself began to dabble in the TCM all-black look by junior year.  Unlike Eric, Chris was much more confident about holding his own in confrontations with the jocks after picking a fight with them, and he’d been known to have occasionally pulled and waved a knife threateningly.  Eventually, Chris got a serious girlfriend and mellowed out a whole lot and moved away from the bad ass attitude and reputation in school. He also began to hang out less and less with Eric and Dylan as well.  Thank you!

Just wanted to thank you..Dylans story is fascinating, in some twisted way, i can not look away, it’s touching. And your work here is great, you are helping to understand, that some things are not easy explained…

I love your last sentence. 🙂 That is basically what I’ve always strived for in a nutshell when I’d first started this blog with this long-ass journey of exploring and examining one of the two Columbine shooters more close-up.   Treading in the murky, twilight ‘gray’ area is of course, going to cause all kinds of hiccups of cognitive dissonance for people passing through here with those in between moments of that which is darkly twisted yet touching and wistful. The tragedy of this whole thing is complicated and complex as is life in general.  There is so much good and hopeful in an individual person’s choices as there is the capacity for bad. If it makes you stop and think and pause to reconsider dismissing Dylan, and Eric, as just simply ‘crazy’ or ‘psycho’ and calling it a day, as the mainstream masses tend to do, then I’ve done my job.  Thanks for sharing this. ❤

Do you think we’ll see or know anything about the Klebolds and the Harrises in the next march of 4/20/18? Do they support the Gun Control?

No. And why would we? Sue is the only one out of either families to go public and her way of tackling issues is through mental health awareness not gun control marches, legislation, etc.  She promised to leave Byron and Tom out of it, upon their request, when she decided to go public with her book.  The Harrises will open up publicly only when pigs fly and hell freezes over.   The Klebolds would be in favor of tighter gun laws and the Harrises, most probably not (yes, even after what their son did with guns).
