When you experience extreme pain, you stop thinking that someone can be hurt, too. On the contrary, you suddenly begins to want to have all suffered and suffered like you. You wish them evil. However, you have to understand something else: no one will ever understand and will not rise to your pain. No one ever. And from awareness of this thought becomes even more painful. You’re one on one with the infinity of suffering.
This is the ultimate point of egoism: when a soul that lost its former memory of beauty having lost its previous knowledge of the “good”, becomes cruel. Can the soul to do evil? Unfortunately, yes.  It is no coincidence that Yin in Dao philosophy, reaching the limit, turns into Yang, and vice versa. Everything that reaches the limit, becomes  opposite..

Hurt people <i>hurt </i>people.^^

Hi! im pretty sure this has been asked before, but I don’t know how to find it. Where were their friends during the massacre? Devon, Brooks, Robyn etc.

Yeah, I think so but I can’t seem to find the post!  Anyway…

Devon was leaving school when she heard a bomb go off somewhere and immediately knew it was Eric.  She’d fled with a bunch of students to Clement Park.

Brooks was taking a cigarette break after philosophy class and he left the campus upon Eric telling him to do so.

Robyn was on her way to Dairy Queen for lunch with two friends. Upon returning, they pulled into the senior parking lot right as the massacre was going down in the library. The cops would not let her leave and they sat in the car the entire time while the shooting was going on.

Zack was in the choir room when someone warned them what was going down and he fled the north entrance of the building with his class and headed to Clement Park. Devon met up with him there.

Nate left his language arts class noting that Eric and Dylan didn’t show up for that class. He left the building to go home for lunch.  Upon leaving in his truck, he saw Eric walking to the building from the unusual direction of the junior parking lot carrying a small bag.

In Dylan’s unsent letter, he asks the girl to respond in kind and to leave it in his locker. If she had reciprocated his feelings or was at least interested in getting to know him, would having that in writing be better than to hear it in person for him?

I think receiving a note back from her would have been easier for him to introvertly step back, read through backwards and forewards, and process rather than her confessing a mutual attraction to his face.  He’d have time to react in private and it would be less overwhelming though still, very nerve-racking. lol

hello! so basically i needed help in a little thing here: can you tell me all the dates of when the home made videos of Eric and Dylan were recorded? (i know Hitmen for Hire was recorded in December 2nd, 7th and 9th, 1998; Car Wax Commercial in September 15th, 1998 [i think]; and Frankenstein Roast in October 30th, 1998). i really wanted to know, thank you :D

All correct dates.

Radioactive Clothing was late March 1999.
Breakfast Run was April 19, 1999.

Do you think dylan was always trying to be there for eric like judy brown said in the zero hour episode? like maybe dylan knew eric was even more hopeless than him?

I think it was in Dylan’s nature to be there for all of his friends, not just Eric.  We need to remember that Dylan and Eric were friends since Jr. HS days but at the same time, Dylan also befriended Nate in Jr. HS too. Then Zack came along in high school and Dylan clicked and became close at a certain point until Zack paired off with a girlfriend which left Dylan still in a long-standing friendship with Eric. And I’m sure there were probably times too when Dylan thought that Eric might find someone..especially when Eric dated Sasha about 20 times over the course of a few months.  Brooks was friends with both Eric and Dylan in the first year or so at Columbine but then Eric got into a cold war with Brooks.  So Dylan was in the tough spot of middle man.  He went smoking with Brooks when Eric wasn’t around and when he and Eric were together, he would not hang with Brooks.  Of course, there was still Nate but then Nate found Kristi in early ‘99.  So, you can see this ebb and flow of friendships dissipating all around Dylan yet Dylan is right there for any of those friends if they want to make the time for him.  Eric was the only other committed guy who was just like Dylan, with no women in his life. The difference between the two is that Eric broke off with some of their mutual friends but Dylan did not.  Because Eric burned bridges, it left with Dylan as his primary, one and only friend. Eric did pretty much everything with Dylan.  Dylan spent a lot of time with Eric but also did stuff with other friends too. Only Eric and Dylan had a shared experience of humiliation with the authorities and also being picked on in school. This did cement their bond closer.  So, it’s not really so much that Dylan was making a concerted effort to be there for Eric because Eric had no one else. It’s just that Dylan just never wanted to break off a friendship or get into a fight and mess things up.  He failed and gave up at trying to break things off with Eric.  I think he felt like it could backfire on him big time if Eric knew he was intentionally trying to cut ties. And Dylan hated when he felt friends abandoned him so he would not do that to his own friends especially not to Eric.  Dylan always was there as a constant force for any of his friends.  Eric sort of dictated that it was just the two of them because of the fact that Eric eliminated some of their mutual friendships so that it was usually just them hanging out.  I don’t think really think that Dylan was so much as looking out for Eric or that he consciously considered that Eric was more hopeless than himself. I just think that Dylan felt aligned with Eric in a lot of similar ways. The lack of establishing girlfriend relationships. The bonding over being arrested together. Over time, it sort of became ‘Us versus The World’.  Eric also had a lot of time to hang with Dylan. Eric had time/made time for his best friend, Dylan.  Dylan’s needs were met when he had a friend that was loyal and there for him. An example here is the night of the January Incident on January 30th when Dylan and Zack were supposed to have a sleepover but instead, Zack and Devon got into a fight and next thing you know..no sleepover with Zack for Dylan. Guess who was there for Dylan to kill time on Friday night?  Eric.  So, ultimately, they were there for each other mutually.  Both were dealing with their own pain and loneliness.  Each took care of the other.

Is it possible that Dylan’s “gawd” response in his writing about NBK is in relation to the name itself? Maybe Eric suggested using the term and Dylan internally thought it was a stupid and was rolling his eyes, so to speak, as he wrote about it.

Eeh, it could be.. but I tend to think it is more about what the code name actually represents and not just merely a kind of disdain for the actual code name itself.  And both of them liked the movie Natural Born Killers. I don’t think the name would be stupid to Dylan especially since the two had a lot of hokey code names like Slim Jims for cigarettes and big Slim Jims for cigars.  “Going NBK” was as good of a code name as any other.
