Here’s a couple of little anecdotal factoids quoted from Sue’s book for you:

“For me, Dylan moving into Byron’s room marked the end of his childhood. Even though he was over six feet tall, I watched with sadness as he packed up boxes of toys from his own room and labeled them for storage. After his death, I opened boxes filled with his once-precious Lego sets. Most contained the original packaging and instructional diagrams, nearly torn along the
folds from use. I was struck by how like Dylan that was, to meticulously organize even the things he was putting away for storage.”

“When paychecks started rolling in, I helped him open checking and savings accounts at the bank, and after he died, I found neat folders containing his bank statements, payment stubs, and tax information.”

Hey! Resending my ask. :) How do you think things would have played out if Dylan had killed himself in the year or so prior to NBK? Would Eric have grieved him? Would he have called off NBK altogether, or found someone else to do it with? Would he have carried it out alone? Thank you Miss EC! ❤

Yes, I think Eric would’ve missed Dylan terribly. He would’ve felt horribly alone and miserable stuck in Littleton without a close friend. However, I don’t think Eric would’ve carried out NBK by himself. My personal feeling is that it took both boys to carry out NBK. One without the other = no NBK. It’s possible that if Dylan had left Eric in that way, by suicide, it might’ve exacerbated Eric’s own dormant suicidality. Thank you for the ask! 🙂💖

Miss EC, I was wrongly accused of having a hit list at school and I’ll be brought in for questioning on Monday? What should I do?

I’m sorry to hear that you’re being accused of something you say that you did not do. 😐 You should be honest and truthful when questioned. Answer simply, speak calmly, and don’t protest. Be honest in your convictions. The truth will set you free. Be strong; we’re with you. 💖👊🏻

However, given the influx of messages that I receive, I can only address so many questions at a time. Sometimes, it’s a case of me just not wanting to address a particular question (especially repeat questions which can be found using the E-C Search. a-hem) but more often than not, it’s simply because there are too many questions and not enough time for me to address all of them adequately.

Feel free to re-send your question that you recently sent previously.  Please limit to one question per person. If your question doesn’t get addressed in one week, you can resend and let me know you’re resending the question again.  Please keep in mind, the manner I choose to answer questions is generally random depending on what interests me at the moment to address.

Okay, wait sooooo Eric was perfectly okay with Robyn being Dylan friend and all that good stuff but when Devon started to be friends with Dylan Eric got mad why is that?

Eric, Dylan and Zack were close friends about a year and a half into high school but then Zack landed a girlfriend, Devon.  Suddenly, Zack started to spend less time with Eric and Dylan. Dylan was jealous and unhappy about it, and Eric was probably aware of that fact. Eric blamed Devon for stealing Zack away and breaking up their little dude clan.  So, this wasn’t at all about Eric being pissed at girls because Dylan was friends with them. 

With everyone being sued after columbine happened, which Sue had stated. I wondered why the Klebold’s hadn’t been broke (maybe they were) or homeless? To have been sued that much!!! Unless they had a lot of money in the bank? I’m not sure maybe I’m thinking it the wrong way but it just popped into my head.

Appearance can be deceiving with the immediate impression of their expensive looking property. There were many financial difficulties and challenges the Klebold’s went through in struggling to stay at their house some of which proceded Columbine.  You should definitely check out Sue’s book as she goes into all of this.  They were never homeless though.  After the tragedy, they used a great deal (all tbh) insurance to cover being sued and Tom also had/has a real estate property business to make ends meet. I’m sure there was other sources of financial aid too. Since the time they bought the property in 1989 and renovated it, the house has enormously increased in value. The Deer Creek neighborhood is building new mansion-like homes presently and in a desirable, rural location, the Klebold’s house is now in a million dollar property. It’s a good investment to hold on to as a legacy for their son to do with as he pleases when Tom and Sue pass on (Sue’s name is still on the property even if not financially).

Why are the basement tapes not able to be released which is videos of two boys basically venting out. But then we got out here suicide videos, beheading videos etc etc when you can just google that crap and that’s “easily accessible” online but actual evidence is not or “won’t be” released. Which is sooooo bull crap ! Btw I mean it’s bull crap how disgusting vidoes like the ones I stated can just be googled and found…. but Basement tapes won’t???? ugh

Violence and gore are not the reason why the tapes won’t be released. See here. Also, this topic has been revisited quite a lot. And actually, someone else had the same argument you had. Please use the E-C Search first before asking. Type in ‘basement tapes’ or ‘destroyed’ (yes, they were in 2011 according to Jeffco).
