Dylan probably want to kill himself just a little more than he wanted to kill others; it wasn’t exactly equal parts of homicidal to suicidal

Dylan knew where very close friends like Zach, Devon and Robyn would be on the morning of 4/20 and planned the massacre in such a way that minimized the chances of them being killed.

To a certain extent, Dylan felt intimidated and afraid of Eric, even though he gave no reaction towards Eric’s bursts of anger

*Not full-on afraid but more like he worried at times. Like walking on eggshells.
Had Eric and Dylan been arrested and prosecuted for 4/20, they would have received the death penalty.

*Even though that was not the legal norm in Colorado. There would have been a push for it in this circumstance because of the months of premeditated planning and the intent of using bombs to kill hundreds at their school.
Can you branch off about Eric knowing about Dylan being suicidal from a previous ask?
Sure – though I did comment on that ask. What I meant is that Eric would’ve had to have known to a degree that Dylan was suicidal and wanted to die because NBK was going to end in their own deaths and his friend embraced that fact without question as much as he did. Whether Dylan verbally expressed at certain various points “I can’t stand this place.. I fucking hate being here!” or “I can’t wait to die; this place is fucked up and I can’t wait to fuck it up more” or just basically planned NBK with the unspoken understanding between them that this was a suicide pact and they were going to in the building knowing they were going to end up dead somehow – by their own hand or the cops – and they were completely simpatico about it. We do know that during NBK one of the two was shouting loud and proud “today’s the day the world is coming to an end, today’s the day we die!” or “it’s a good day to die!” Let’s just say I have a hunch which one likely said these things as they were much more vocal than the other. 😉

The victims and their families are deserving of sympathy. The community as a whole is not because despite the tragedy, they insist on keeping the same social atmosphere. They sweep 4/20 under the rug and assume there will not be a repeat. When forced to face the past they blame E&D solely, rather than reflecting on issues in their society that contributed to the tragedy.
