Your theory on the numbers is so clever! Love the way you think

*bows* aw, gee, thankss. 🙂  It just seemed to me that the pattern of numbers in a sort of ‘score grid’ seemed the most probable.  Unlike, Dylan’s nebulous affinity for the Number 5, these just to appear to be repetitive sequences of practical calculations in a grid-like tally format.   So, it probably amounted to something like Dylan being bored in class and one minute, either doodling in his day planner, and the next, flipping forward to that particular planner page to figure the latest Fantasy Baseball team scores for each day while half listening to the teacher drone on. And he probably met with his ‘Border Hopper’ team mates in between class and consulted with them over his draft predictions.  According to those friends, Dylan appeared to have a naturally intuitive ability with his predictions and making the right plays so that his team was in the lead.  I don’t think calling him a ‘genius’ at managing a virtual baseball team is a stretch. 😉  Dylan’s dad said Dylan had quite a (words to the effect) well managed, organized Fantasy Baseball website. I would so loved to have seen that!   It’s definitely a skill set or talent that he had which he could’ve utilized as an adult. Such a waste of a brilliant mind with such great potential. :-/  See posts here and  here .

“Dylan played Fantasy Baseball on a regular basis; other players said they heard him discussing the plays that would be happening in the week of 4-20, giving them no indication that he didn’t plan to be around after that Tuesday.”

“He was awesome,” classmate Chris Hooker told USA Today. “He was so awesome we thought he ought to manage a team in real life.”

In Dylan’s 1998 planner he wrote a series of seemingly random numbers that spanned for days in April. Do you have any idea what it means? Is it code?

I’m going to be perfectly honest anon, I have no idea. I’m about to head off camping for a couple of days and didn’t want to leave you languishing in my inbox, so I’m answering rather quickly. This is a mystery to me, but maybe someone who sees this will have a better idea? Otherwise I can look into it more in a few days.

Scribblings for a math class? Code? Interesting there are arrows directing to other days and crosses on others. That first sequence repeats over and over: 1 5 2 6 3. Then the second line repeats a lot as well. The final two rows of each collection seem to be where there’s more diversity. There’s nothing from the 17th on, and that date marks the end of the six weeks grading period.

I was literally asked this same question and it’s been sitting in my inbox. lol.  So, I’m just gonna chime in here with my .02 cents 😉 that these number sequences are likely Dylan’s Fantasy Baseballs scoring system in which he is tracking each team members’ play stats.

9/11 and Mr. 9/11/81

In light of this being the entire week,19 years ago, that Hitmen for Hire was filmed by the boys, and seeing this animated gif of a mirthful Dylan yet again, I’m reminded of this…

Every time I’ve ever watched Hitmen for Hire and the camera abruptly pans down to the CHS entranceway floor grates, I’m immediately reminded of this. The patterned lines of those grates always call to mind the architectural design of the World Trade Center and of course, 9/11 which ironically, as you know, is Dylan’s birthday.  A skosh bit of a prophetic harbinger of an event to come nearly 2 ½ years later? Or just a silly coincidence?  I’ll let you decide.  lol   At any rate, I find it rather eerie.

I first got into Columbine watching zero hour and while I still think it’s probably the best recreation of it but I always thought it did glamorize a bit. I think it cemented the whole anti hero image But I think they learned their lesson because they don’t really make things like that anymore about shooters

I know for some here, watching Zero Hour is like recreation rather than a re-creation. 😉

But ‘Zero Hour’ is an entire series where the docu-drama intimately tell the story of the crime from the killers’ perspective leading up to the crime.  For example, the actor Ben Johnson, who played Eric, played Timothy McVeigh in the Zero Hour: One of America’s Own.  I’m not sure if it’s so much that tptb learned their lesson as to how that show was angled but more like it’s just something that’s already been done.  I don’t even know if the media is even all that cautious about how their docs or stories are told because look at 13 Reasons Why and how glamorizing it makes revenge-suicide out to be.  And the rumor is that they plan for Season 2 to be about School Shooters. Ugh..  If that truly is the case, I don’t think any lessons have been learned at all, tbh.

Imagine yourself terrified and helpless under a table while two guys kill children for no apparent reason. How would you have reacted? I was friends with one of the victims, you are idiots

*imagines*  alrighty then and your point is?

Listen, if you’re implying that I don’t understand or have sympathy for how the victims suffered in abject terror purely because I run a blog that explores the life (and motivations) of one of the shooters of this tragedy, that’s pretty asinine logic, you know that?  That right there is idiotic.

And…

do you realize how many anonymous peeps on Tumblr claim they were friends with someone associated with Columbine?  I mean, come. the. fuck. on.  Where is the credibility in your vague claims? Do not bother coming back here in retort unless you can supply specific proof for such veiled claims.

I have no time for wannabe trolls. Now, be gone.

Do Dylan’s friends, such as Nate, still speak highly of him or are they more like Chris who does not want to be associated with them

I wouldn’t say that Nate speaks ‘highly’ of Dylan. I suppose you could say that Nate and Dylan had a friendship sort of like brothers. Nate had a lot of issues at home with his mom and stepdad so he spent a lot of time over the Klebolds.  Probably of all of Dylan’s close circle of friends, Nate spent the most time over Dylan’s house.  Nate’s experience with Dylan was that he was nice, gentle dude. They did a lot of fun and humorous things together. It’s kind of odd when the friend that you sort of think of like a surrogate brother goes off one day and becomes a mass murderer and kills himself.  You can imagine that it must of shocked and hurt Nate deeply and he’ll never understand why his bro did that. So, Nate remembers all of the fond times with Dylan and spending time at his house sleeping over.  It’s probably hard for him to reconcile the ‘two Dylan’s’ the one he knew and loved like a bro and friend ..and that other secretly deeply sad guy who was also angry and vengeful in a deadly serious way.  Nate still keeps in touch with Sue and he even helped her with parts of her book. The few times he’s in town (in Littleton), he makes a point of checking in with the Klebolds.  Sue has said that Nate has kept the good memories alive about Dylan. 🙂

As for Chris Morris,he was never that close to Dylan. Over the many months after he had acquired a girlfriend to keep him company, Chris had begun to distance himself from the destructive package deal that ‘Eric and Dylan’ were becoming.  After Columbine, and getting arrested and questioned by the authorities, Chris was hell bent on disassociating himself from his former friendship with Eric and Dylan.  The two had ruined his life also because his mom (who was a cop) kicked him out of the house and he got fired from his job..and he almost went to prison just by mere association.  It would seem that in his opinion, his life had became a living hell for associating with those two.

What would be Eric’s ideal girlfriend? Love your blog btw! Your writing is INCREDIBLE!!! I wanna see how you would describe Eric’s gf!!!!! Xxxxxx

I’ve kind of addressed these types of questions already particularly in regards to Dylan not so much Eric. I don’t typically go into that sort of lavish detail on Eric since this isn’t an Eric blog. 🙂 I would advise using the E-C Search and using keywords like ‘ideal girlfriend’ or ‘girlfriend’ or any combo that might pull up something close to your ask.  Tbh, I don’t plan on answering these types of questions anymore.  Why? Because they’ve already been explored and answered. There isn’t much more to be said as it’s only my personal speculation and not founded in facts.  Glad you enjoy my writing though – thanks. 🙂 xxx
