Didn’t Eric say “Fine I’ll start shooting”? That’s from that 911 transcript and different people say it’s fake. Is it real or no?

Different sources say different things. Some have said Eric and some, Dylan, as in this 911 extended transcript  while other sources like this Jeffco ‘Finding of Library of Events , simply mentions  ‘a witness heard one of the gunmen say’  This seems to be because it isn’t perfectly clear as to who said what. The 911 transcripts vary too.  The one I mention above that lists Dylan as saying it doesn’t even have the first interaction they make with hiding students upon entering the library where you can clearly hear the two say on the very indistinct audio clips  Eric: “Get up!” Dylan: “Eeeeverybody get up NOW!”
Many of the students in the library didn’t really know specifically which dude said what in the library let alone when they’d first entered into the library. The 911 audio tape that’s on youtube is tbh, a really horrible quality and I wonder how much of a clearer version Jeffco actually has/had in it’s possession. I tend to think not all that better. Also, their 911 transcripts are really incomplete and sketchy.

As I said, many of the students were confused as to which gunmen said what. Only that they appeared in the doorway through a cloud of smoke – probably from Eric’s shotgun and the pipe bombs and crickets tossed just outside the library door. The fire alarm goes off soon after because of the smoke billowing in the air..

image

The reason I tend to believe that Dylan is the one who’d said it is in relation to the testimony Bree Pasquale gives in conjunction with Evan Todd who was the very first person to be shot but only injured.  Todd mentions that Eric is the first to fire into the library (from just outside the door) at Todd who is hiding behind a pillar at the front desk.  Eric doesn’t speak just notices Todd; the two make eye contact and Eric racks his round and fires two from his shotgun at Todd who ducks and the damage hits the pillar and slightly injures Todd. According to Bree, Dylan enters into the library slightly ahead of Eric and this is when both begin to yell to everyone to ‘get up now!’ at which point Dylan would then logically say in response to nobody cooperating and doing as they commanded “fine, I’ll start shooting” and would then be walking towards Kyle, who was supposedly very visible not hiding too well if at all, and aiming his shotgun at him. So , Eric shoots first and injures the first person from outside the library and Dylan shoots first within the library and kills the first library victim, Kyle Valesquez. It would make sense that Dylan said ‘fine, I’ll start shooting’ once they’d entered and no one did as they demanded and got up. Unfortunately, there is just no crystal clear way to verify and determine exactly everything each boy said in the library because the evidence released is sketchy.

I disagree. I think he killed less because he had weapons 10x worse than Eric’s, i know a lot about guns. The Tec 9 is one of the worst handguns in history. It jams repeatedly. His Stevens shotgun was even worse. 2 terrible weapons. Thats why he killed less.

While I agree with you that Dylan’s weapons of choice were a bit shitter than Eric’s (I don’t know about ‘10 x worse’ as you suggest), I don’t feel it is the only viable reason for his lagging kill count.  It seems a combination of Dylan being more interested in wrecking havoc, terrorizing and raising hell as well as him discovering rather quickly that his selected weapons didn’t perform as efficient or ‘cool’ as he had fantazied about in his head.  For example, outside, Dylan’s non factory 50 magazine for his 9 mm Tec supposedly jammed and was dropped on the grass still full of bullets but he still had other clips, two 36s and a 24. I think there was even a magazine found in his BMW that I recall. If he was eager to kill, he still had time to jump right in, reload his Tec 9 to get in some more warm-up target practice but for whatever reason, he didn’t do so. Instead, Dylan chose to mix it up by messing around with the arsenal at his disposal: he chose to wander off near the parking lot and lob pipe bombs. According to record, he tried a mere 2 rounds of his double barrel shotgun – and likely realized it was a horrible distance shot on running human targets. He spent a lot of time going up and down the stairs near the commons and was the most scene by witnesses through the windows. He was the show off presence that shot Lance in the jaw within an audience left to gasp in horror at the windows. It was reported that Dylan even walked in the commons as people were fleeing in a panic up the cafeteria staircase and yet, he refrained from shooting or throwing any of the incendiaries at his disposal.  In the hallway, he got in 31 rounds of Tec 9 mm target practice and 4 shotgun rounds but he spent a fair amount of time taking it all with the journey and not the destination: enjoying the site and sounds of destructive impact on Columbine’s interior, running down the hallway chasing screaming students and shooting at the walls and the lockers along the way. He happened to maim a couple of students including aiming, for whatever reason, super low and succeeding a blast on Stephanie Munson’s ankle. Ok, yeah, they’re moving targets and somewhat long distance but an ankle just seems silly.  And again, Dylan didn’t wander into the bathroom to hunt down the girl who ran from the payphone. Maybe he hit his limit in murdering etiquette that a gentleman hitman does not hunt down a girl in the girls restroom?  lol 😏

Inside the library there was a lot of opportunity for close range kills especially with the shotguns.  Dylan succeeded using his shot gun straight off the bat and wounded Kyle Valesquez’s head and shoulder with deadly accuracy, killing him instantly.  He started off boldly in the library, as if he were electing to set the tone there by volunteering a  “fine, I’ll start shooting!”   Thereafter, Eric spent 21 shotgun rounds and the library yet Dylan only a total of 6.  Dylan 21 9 mm rounds and Eric 13 with his carbine.  I’m not really certain if Dylan’s Tec jammed there, I don’t think so?  At any rate, at such close range, you’d think he’d have had better chance at success.  Did he perhaps spend a fair amount of time shooting glass display cases or blasting holes in computers and tv sets to supersede Eric’s 9 mm count by 8 ?   For some reason, Lauren was the only one Dylan went hog wild on drilling Tech bullets into.  Yet, all in total in the library, at close range with sitting ducks under tables or half tables, Eric manages to surpass Dylan at the kill count. Most of Dylan’s kills are in tandem with Eric on a person, even.  In the library, Dylan was said to be the more vocal one, whooping it up, hollering and having the time of his life and Eric more quiet and methodical.  He spares Valeen after taunting her. He inflicts his verbal wrath on Evan Todd, yet let’s him live and gives him to Eric even, with a ‘you can have him..if you want.’   All in all, to me, it seems that it wasn’t just that Dylan’s weapons sucked but that he was simply less motivated to murder with deadly intent and accuracy and more interested in terrorizing and enjoying the power trip.  Here’s a total shots diagram for anyone interested.

Isn’t it strange how even though Dylan would threat the kids during the shooting more, he didn’t kill as much. Whereas Eric was calmer, but killed more. It’s so strange

No, not really strange. It’s just that Dylan was more into the thrill of psychological terrorizing classmates rather than Eric who was trigger happy for the kill counts – well, that is, until he broke his nose and was less methodical about killing as many as possible. Once inside the school, Dylan got off running down the hall chasing after people,  shooting haphazardly at students and lockers and walls, yelling like it was his last, big party. At the end of the hallway, a girl was on a pay phone talking to her mom and saw Dylan approaching peripherally. She dropped the phone and ran into the girls bathroom. Did Dylan pursue her?  Nope.

Dylan liked the power trip of being threatening but not necessarily a deadly, precise threat.  In the library, he walked around insulting students  and suggesting threatening things out loud to Eric, hinting to his audience cowering under the tables that maybe they should use their knives because he always wondered what it would feel like to cut someone. It was an idle threat he suggested loudly while his boots were on either side of a girls leg sticking out from underneath a table as he reloaded his weapons above her.  Yes, of course Dylan killed too, but he enjoyed the terrorizing more and so by comparison, he killed less than Eric.

Dylan in his journal doesn’t seem to use the word “halcyon” correctly. Any idea why? Did he know it and was just doing it his way?

Dylan likely became aware of the word through any number of high school required reading (and classical) literature that reference the word  in addition to that, the word was around during the later half of the nineties since  the techno group Orbital released it’s live single ‘Halcyon, On and On’ from off their In Sides ‘97 album. It’s a given he knew what the word truly meant but he chose to put his own spin on it and use it in a context of a tranquil, blissful place of existence or a spiritually perfect state of being. The warmest seas of pure happiness. essentially, his own brand of Heaven. 🙂

I thought that was the footage Nate Dykeman sold to the tabloids of him and Dylan for 17,000. Why would Jeffco be the ones editing anything out? Or am I confusing two different things.

Correct. If you watch the documentary Columbine: Understanding Why” which is available as a dvd on Netflix (it used to be available on instant video but not at the moment and it was deleted off youtube due to A & E’s copyright infringement), they show a segment of the Morning Ritual and you can see/hear a few seconds of Nate and Dylan making idle small talk while driving towards Dylan’s assigned parking space in the senior lot. However, In the video edited for public consumption  on the internet, the Pulp Fiction soundtrack is cranked up during that segment and any dialog between Nate and Dylan is non existent.  Nate and Dylan filmed this for Nate’s dad back in Florida so he could see what it was like for them getting up and going to high school every morning.

You needn’t watch the video carefully to realize that it is hacked to pieces and spliced together sloppily. It clearly isn’t the original footage of Nate’s with all the conversations between them while doing a ‘day in a life’ driving to school.   I was going to post this segment where you can hear the two talking a wee bit in the parking lot but by that time, youtube had removed all instances of it.  I’m sure it’s probably available somewhere like a Torrent if you don’t have Netflix.

Oh sorry to ask another question but what could they have been editing out of the morning ritual video? it’s obvious they edited out parts of them speaking. what could they have possibly said jeffco didn’t want us to hear. jeffco just pisses me off

Probably just them discussing daily goings on at the school and referencing names of people – friends, teachers they like or hate and foes that irritated them. Also, I think Jeffco preferred we not be vicariously listening in on two friends talking about mundane things because it might make Dylan seem less of a monster and rather more accessible and appealing as timidly ordinary and goofy in idol conversation.  As it is, Dylan already captivates and does a number on us with his disarming close-camera eye contact and inimitable hand wave. Hearing them talk and maybe laughing at what they might be saying as two boys hanging out?  Nuh uh. Jeffco would rather bar us from eavesdropping in on their potentially relatable teenage discussions while driving to school. Killers must remain unknowable so as not to garner sympathy or understanding.

when was the morning ritual with nate filmed? please and thank you

I’m going to say anywhere between the winter months of Nov ‘98 – Jan ‘99 leaning more towards ‘98.

Two clues here are:

Nate Dykeman says “On a cool frosty morning.”  and ”We’re talking something about parole here early May.”   There is some half melted snow on the ground. I don’t know Colorado winters that well but I would bet there is a lot more snowy days in Dec-Feb months.

image

The most important thing here is that Dylan’s hair is still relatively short.

image

In the week of December 7 – 11th when Hitmen for Hire was filmed, Dylan’s hair looks just a inch/inch and a half longer than it does in the Morning Ritual video.

image

By March ‘99 in the Rampart Range footage and Radioactive Clothing, Dylan’s hair is quite long and ratty looking sticking out like clown hair under his hat.

image

Given Dylan’s short hair length and the amount of snow on Columbine High grounds, I would tend to say the Morning Ritual video was filmed middle to the end of November ‘98 but honestly could also have been into December since he hair length is pretty close. Another thing.. the leaves are pretty much off the trees so mm.. December seems even more likely!

Wait so Dylan was actually unemployed from December ’97 – December ’98, a whole year?! I had no idea. I thought he quit BJ Pizza, and came back a few months later. Where the hell was he getting his cash for bombs if he was only working maybe 3-4 months before 4/20 + only working 10-15 hours a week? That’s insane.

image

Dylan turned sixteen Sept 11, 1997, the legal working age in Colorado. Eric helps Dylan land the job at Blackjack in either Oct/Nov ‘97 which runs to about Dec ‘97/Jan ‘98-ish. This is taking into account that Dylan said his longest period at one job was three months. Dylan brings a pipe bomb into Blackjack and shows it off with instructions on how to make one. He then gets reprimanded for it.  A couple days later, Dylan quits.  The pay sucked anyway and ultimately he really wanted a more ‘dream job’ working in computers.

In between this time, he lands a short stint as a courtesy clerk at Albertsons. He quits saying ‘Didn’t want to join the union’ which is a P.C. way of saying he fucking hated doing customer service, lol – and Connie annoyed him.

See here for other jobs Dylan worked in ‘98.

In December of ‘98, Blackjack owner, Bob Kirgis, is in a jam for employees and rehires Dylan back on. This was approximately ten months after, give or take, his first employment there, his second and last time working at Blackjack pizza,  Dylan works more hours and is there from Dec ‘98 until April 16, 1999.  His wages on his last pay check are $6.50 per hour

No, Dylan wasn’t make a whole lot of money, folks. Before he was seriously saving for NBK, he was just scrapping by. Above you can see the percentages he’s devoting a measly 10-20 hour paycheck to: Gas money – $40, Insurance (he got his BMW not too long ago and puts a “?” by cost. Maybe the parents were still paying it for him at this point, so he didn’t know how much that was eventually going to cost him.)   He mentions ‘Savings” was 50% of the paycheck. Whatever was left over (not a whole hell of a lot) was likely entertainment spending money.  Rock n Bowl on the weekend or buying some cds, video games, or renting or going to the movies.   I don’t believe serious NBK expenses were set aside at this point.  The boys only got serious about NBK right about here actually, with the start of this intake file dated 3/98: after the van theft incident and during the beginning of the Diversion Program which lasted all of ‘98.

Dylan saved when and where he could for NBK which means that Eric probably pretty much contributed to most of the saving during this year. Dylan did odd jobs for his neighbor in June ‘98 and Computer Renaissance in August ‘98. He probably also got some money working the fireworks stand each summer and perhaps, a regular allowance from his parents.  By the time Dylan worked Blackjack his second and final time from Dec ‘98 – April ‘99, he really would’ve been putting in a much more concerted, serious effort to stockpile his paycheck for NBK.

It’s no wonder that Dyl moped when his pricey signature shades broke on him? Saving another wad of cash to replace the pair wasn’t in the cards of Fate any longer. Saving for a future of death was far more important than his aesthetic.

I wonder what Dylan thinks of Brooks now prolly doesn’t even think of him but the fact that Brooks uses them he prolly hates him

Nah.. I tend to think Dyl
probably feels an owness towards Brooks and all the rest of his friends that he left
behind in that irretrievable self-serving decision he’d made. He realizes all to well that he and Eric dropped a
massive crater on those he did care about and majorly fucked up their lives. At
the time, he was just too despondent to give a fuck to feel concern for anyone else other than himself. His thoughts were only on the revenge and pulling the plug in style to be free at last.  It is what it is and what’s done was
done
.  I think Dyl would only hope the
best for them, that they would manage to make it out of their private hell at
least somewhat intact, having some semblance of personal successes in their own
lives.  Unlike, Eric or even Zach, Brooks was there for Dyl throughout all
his childhood years
and for that I feel he still cares about the dude. Checks in on him, even. Brooks made it out alive but like a plane with a clipped wing; he flies kind of
wobbly and warped but has managed to stay air born and even soar in his career despite
it all. He’s picked up the pieces and survived the best, the only way he’s
known how.  Dyl probably just shakes his
head at the drama and attention Brooks is always generating for himself all on
his own.. and still to this day – even stooping so low as to use his connection
with his two ex mass murdering friends for his own personal gain. I can
just kind of see Dyl philosophically shrugging his shoulders and chuckling unfazed
‘Some things just never change.. that’s
just Brooks.’

Brooks (left) and Dyl (right) at a birthday party.

I want to know….when exactly did Dylan start wearing the famous Boston Red Sox hat consistently? We can see in a Jan 30 ’98 quick video that he has the “B” hat but idk maybe it’s just me but it looks different than he wore in Hitmen for Hire. We know he took out the “B” logo and sewed It onto new hats, so is that one of them? But when did he exactly start like wearing hats backwards ever? Do you think he ever wore his hat forward? When did he get really tall? Junior year?

We don’t really have any documentation that mentions for certain as to when Dyl began his affinity with the Boston Red Sox team and began to wear the “B” ball cap.  Dylan played Little League as a kid, and apparently played very hard and competitively to win and when his team didn’t or he had to sit out, he was crushed.  This demonstrates his extreme love and passion for the sport and being dedicated to his team winning as if the weight of it depended solely upon himself. I would imagine he would’ve begun to start collecting Baseball cards at a certain point in Elementary school and resonating with certain players while watching them on tv or going to a game with his dad.  So, I’m going to say he probably got his first official Boston Red Sox ball cap in his latter Elementary school years and wore that ‘first’ hat through middle school until it was ratty and tattered.  Rather than chuck the entire hat and get a new one, his insisted tradition and solution seemed to become him selecting a new replacement hat (with another team he liked) and having mom sew the “B” on the ‘back’ of the new hat. The “B” itself was the totem, his lucky piece, you could say?  It reminded him of personal ‘happy time’ past memories.  There is a certain sentimentality about Dylan in regards to keeping certain personally significant touchstone items with him throughout his life, on his being, that remind him of a certain something in his past.  I go into detail about this

idiosyncrasy of his “B” baseball cap here.

Dylan does wear his signature baseball cap forward in this shot which appears to be circa early middle school years – playing drums in a band with Brooks Brown.  At some point in the ‘90s, the anti-fashion became about wearing the ball caps backwards to look more against-the-grain of mainstream style.

I think he likely shot up in height quite noticeably between his Freshman to Sophomore years. My guess.

This is stupid but why did they release their journals but not basement tapes ?

Jeffco’s reasoning is that unlike Dylan and Eric’s journals, the Basement Tapes are considered an inspiring, rousing ‘Call to Arms’ to troubled youth that feel the same way as them. Dylan and Eric are recruiting them by looking directly in the camera and talking to their intended audience sort of like Uncle Sam recruiting an impassioned ‘We want YOU to join us and follow in our footsteps!’

image

image

[June 15, 2006 FBI and Jeffco Assessment of ‘The Tapes’]

Short answer is that Jeffco is, as you say, is essentially, well, stupid.  Other shooters ‘mini’ Basement Tapes have been released and even published on youtube or shown on tv. The shooter, Alvaro Castillo was fascinated by Columbine and Eric Harris and wanted (and did attempt) to follow in the boys’ footsteps regardless of the Basement Tapes being released.  Quite a few of his tapes which were broadcast in his trial were all released on youtube.  We also have bits of Cho Seung-Hui’s tapes and Elliot Rodger’s last ‘Retribution’ video.  All released, all stating their cause and could also be considered a ‘Call to Arms’ to any troubled youth surfing Youtube.   If you consider them so-called ‘copycats’ of E & D, then they were inspired and took action, again, regardless of whether Eric and Dylan’s Basement Tapes were released.  And who is to say that Elliot Rodger wasn’t inspired by Cho Seung-Hui or all the other tapes freely released before?  James Holmes barely researched Columbine and did his thing not one iota inspired by any other previous shooters. If you’re watching the trials than you know James Holmes shot up a theater for entirely his own reasons with his own motivations and agenda. The shootings continue regardless of tapes being released or not.   The root of the matter has nothing to do with any shooters Basement Tapes. (Why does Jeffco give E & D celebrity by making their BTs so deniably attractive?)  As long as source of the problem is brushed under the carpet and not addressed, the shootings will continue.

The fact that Jeffco chose not to release the Basement Tapes and denied them (supposedly permanently as of this year) from the public has shrouded them deeper in intrigue and mystery. It begs the question: what is so important that they would rather keep the public ignorantly in the dark?  They’ve acted like a parent denying it’s citizens the right to view the tapes, to evaluate and judge them for themselves. It’s censorship and it demonstrates that they ultimately do not trust the populace to handle the evidence.   Jeffco has built up a fascination about the tapes and they have become a holy grail or forbidden fruit of sorts for youth simply because it’s human nature to want what we’re told we cannot have. Jeffco has made the tapes vastly more potent and attractive than if they had just casually released the tapes along with the journals and all the other Columbine evidence. Release all and let the public decide. And yet, somehow, it’s ok for the violent ISIS terrorist acts or the Boston pressure cooker bombing footage to end up on Youtube. The shootings will continue, and have continued as evidence with Dylann Storm Roof just this past week , regardless of the Basement Tapes release.

Where is Dylan’s trenchcoat? Do his parents have it ? Sometimes I wonder what happened to his boots ? Any idea what he was wearing the day of his funeral. :( hope you answer my guestions you’re the only one I consider reliable ! Much love xo

Items # 8679 – 8696 inculde items taken from Dylan Klebolds body by the Cororner

Items returned to Mr Klebold on 2/20/03 page(11795A) – Taken from Dylan’s body

#929: Long Black Coat / Trenchcoat
#1064: Baseball Cap
#8679: Black Right Boot
#8682: Black Left Boot
#8684: Black Pants and Belt
#8686: Black Left Hand Glove
#8687: Black T Shirt
#8688: Black Suspenders

Just imagine Tom Klebold receiving the very articles of clothing his son wore on the day of the massacre..and nearly four years on. That would be a pretty heavy, emotional experience to grapple with. Can you imagine? To see and touch his trenchcoat for the first time in all those years and on some level feeling a twinge of loving familiarity about it because Dylan wore that damn thing all the time..and yet, there’s a sickening drop in the pit of their stomachs because they know what that trench coat infamously represents to the world because of the horrendous deeds their son had done in it. The same with their son’s signature “B” Boston Red Sox baseball hat, returned to them with dried brown/black blood stains covering it. That ballcap was again, an item that Sue and Tom knew as the very essence of their son’s being. His mother, in an instant, would’ve instinctively felt as if she was seeing Dylan once again because it was so closely tied to his personal being. In that moment, she would’ve touched it reverently and held it to her cheek, trying to smell his scent and sobbing uncontrollably. And, again, here was an personal item that they loved about their boy and yet, they felt ambivalent about it because these were things their son wore in the midst of killing people. And now that they had these items in their very hands.. what to do with them?

I tend to think that Sue and Tom most definitely decided to keep Dylan’s ball cap as well as his trench coat. I know his coat along with Eric’s was folded up in a display case at the one and only Columbine Exhibition in 2004 but I tend to think the Klebold’s loaned it for that and took it back to keep for good. I get the feeling that Sue would’ve carefully stored and preserved Dylan’s most important, meaningful possessions from his entire life as her beloved, lost son in a special trunk or cedar chest somewhere in their house. I tend to think they probably opted to not keep his combat boots because their meaning wasn’t especially sentimental but more of one that represented the battle their son had waged. His WRATH shirt, I’d say a big nope here. Too much of a painful all encompassing reminder in that item. I think the rest of the items they realized needed to be eradicated for their own peace of mind rather than to hold on to them in a reminder of constant anguish and so they probably burned the rest of these things, these symbols of the infamous Columbine Massacre that belonged to the darkness of their son that they never realized existed.. until it was too late. Burned, purified in flames, gone for eternity as it should be.

As for what Dylan was laid to rest in at his funeral, I’d guess something that his mom loved to see him wearing. Perhaps the cerulean blue long sleeved shirt and black pants he wore for senior photos? Something along those lines..something she loved to see him wearing that reminded her of the beautiful potential that was her son. Anyway, this is a guess on my part.

Update from Sue Klebold’s book “A Mother’s Reckoning”.  Sue never got the opportunity to choose clothing she preferred to see her son in for the funeral  The private close family and a couple of friends funeral was done so hastily that Dylan was shown in a cardboard casket dressed in a simple, makeshift “hospital gown” and then to be cremated soon after the funeral.

And thanks for the kind words. It’s gratifying that
you consider E-C ‘reliable’. 🙂

I have a feeling you asked this before but what kind of boyfriend do you think Dylan would have been?

image
image

Dylan would’ve been on cloud nine had he managed to land a girlfriend.  Once he got past those initial first few dates and the awkwardness had given way to the strong feelings finally admitted and revealed between one another, Dylan would’ve been in an absolute state of euphoria. He’d have been smiling that bunched-up, goofy smile but blushing far less out of shyness and rather more out of beaming and radiating in that heady  ‘state of love’ for ‘his girl’.  He would’ve been positively giddy, with much more energy about him, literally love drunk.  In love with love itself. All part of the Libra in Venus energy too.  The feeling of love and affection for his girl would’ve given him new found purpose..with everything.

Even in just the simplest forms of expression, everything would’ve been heightened with intensity.  Just the sensation of her wrapping her hand within his and interlocking her fingers in his own, that feeling the warmth of another girl’s fingers entwined within his own, he could’ve died and gone to heaven quite happily in just the pure intensity of such basic demonstrations of love and affection. I think Dylan as a boyfriend, slowly learning to reveal more aspects of his true self and trusting that he would not be met with rejection, would’ve allowed him to easily align with his girl.  You may as well say he’d have imprinted on her because he would’ve found himself being naturally quite devoted and loyal to her.  He’d have followed her lead at first with the initiating of their couple-ness. She would’ve met up with him in the hallway in between their classes and slid her hand within his while walking down the hallway with him, initating conversation as she looked up at him and Dylan would’ve secretly basked in those small, precious moments together. It wouldn’t be long before his hand automatically reached out and sought her own confidently as they walked from school to his car.  He’d be thinking of her in class and the next opportunity he’d have to lay eye’s on her and drink her in – lunchtime, perhaps? He’d be distracted in class reliving glimpses of moments of being in her midst but simultaneously, he would’ve somehow managed a breathe of motivation to do better in his classes because of the prize that awaited him after class. The purpose in his ‘state of love’ would mean better concerted effort in general with many things he didn’t really give a shit about before.

Dylan would’ve invited her over to help her with math homework and in helping her to do better, making her laugh in between her furrowed brow of concentration, would have given him a jolt of energy to finish that ‘fucking French essay’ plus wrap-up that last chapter of required reading with plenty of time.  Love would be the drug for Dylan, that shot in the arm and she his Muse.  Then they’d kill some time on the couch watching movies where fifteen minutes in she would’ve slid her legs over onto his lap as he drap his lanky arm about her and scoop her close within his embrace their hands interlocked and caressing. He’d share his super secret patented maneuvers with her while teaching her a game of Quake and she’d surprise him with a secret door he hadn’t yet stumble upon before which seemed to make perfect sense to her. A women’s intuition?   She’d drop over his house on the weekend while Dylan was in the midst of a death match beta test wad with Eric but it wouldn’t be too terribly long before distraction would set in with his girl planting herself on his knee and stealing kisses on his neck. Suddenly, devoting three hours worth of video games on Saturday and reaching that next level of bloody gory kills seemed not entirely as important as laying on his bed snuggling and softly kissing his girl while it rained outside. Taking a nap and then talking about the meaning of life or imitating that stuffy math teacher with the high pitched voice until they were in a fit of laughter and wrestling onto the floor.

Of course, Dylan would still hang out with Eric. I think he’d be super sensitive to make the concerted time for his best bud because he’d be able to put himself in Eric’s shoes and wouldn’t want his dude to feel abandoned and kicked to the curb. Dylan as per usual would try to be all things to all people to not let them down even now when his time was considerably vested with his girlfriend. He’d try to still make the usual time with Zach on the phone at night, keeping up with the Fantasy Baseball (and even asking his girl for her thoughts on certain plays because he’d want her input) or hanging out with Nate, Chris and all the dude friends. Rock n Bowl on the weekends would now consist of Dylan and his girl and the rest of the gang hanging out – but at the same time, he’d feel the pull of wanting to park his Beamer in a quiet corner of Clement Park and disappearing with his girl during lunchtime on a Friday afternoon.  He’d like the idea of it just being the two of them alone together, an island on to themselves, especially the more relaxed and genuine he could feel in her company where they could just ‘be’ to feel free to talk about anything, to clown around and to physically be close. I think that cuddling would be a crucial expression of affection for Dylan because it allow for that sense of grounding safeness, a sort of touchstone that would allow permission to explore further on a more deeper intimate level of expression.

When the two would fight, it would be hard for Dylan to articulate because he wouldn’t want to cause her upset or allow her to see that ‘negative’ side of himself. It would amount to him fearing rejection.  He would get moody and sullen and maybe even act like nothing was wrong but she could tell there was. When she tried to engage him in an argument, he’d clam up until he’d reach the point where he’d have spurts of angry words in return with her. As a boyfriend it would be a challenge to get him to express his negative feelings and upsets, to help him identify and put voice to what he was actually feeling and without withholding or suppressing. In the midst of a making up, Dylan would probably knee-jerk apologize profusely. He wouldn’t quite be comfortable or smooth with the romancing stuff like remembering to open the car door for her on a date or giving her flowers, something that is probably more Eric’s concerted style of wooing.  Dylan would be a diamond in the rough with traditional ‘romance’ wooing though when he got that it would please her, he’d learn how to court his girl given time, experience and feeling more self confident in himself.  But he would surely write her secret love notes, serious to silly poems and slip them in her locker or share a bag of his favorite cookies only with her. He’d be respectful of his girl and would treat her well.  Dylan did not like the idea of guys treating their chicks poorly and he mentioned this a couple of times in his writings.  He’d be protective of her too but direct confrontation would be the last resort in her defense as mentioned previously here.

If Eric and Dylan were teenagers in this century, what music and bands do you think they would like?

In this century?  Idk, techno is a bit convoluted in this decade. But maybe Dyl might’ve liked some of the overly polished dub that’s big (as Orbital was big in it’s heyday) like deadmau5 or skrillex.

  “I…want to kill…every..body.. in the world…”

Tho’, still think he’d be a Chem Bros fan and into the copious psych goa trance shit where no lyrics are actually required. 😉

I can most definitely see Dylan and Eric lovin’ Combichrist as their a potential anthematic fuck you! band for this era:

I’m in the Pit..just like you!

sometimes I wonder if minutes before the shooting started the boys actually thought to themselves if they should go thru with it ? yeah they got up early and did their final preparations but I wonder if they kinda talked about going thru with it and just said fuck it ! It’s judgement day

Nah. The boys were incredibly vested and committed, that this was the day. It was ‘now or never’ and they’d waited, planned and prepared for far too long. The two were at the point where even though the bombs did not go off, they felt it was impossible to cease and desist.

Too much was at stake. Stopping and retreating would be cowardly; they swore openly within the school that they were going to be the ones to not just talk shit about destroying their school but actually make good on their words and do it.  Plus, each had personal desires at stake though both wanted..knew.. it to be their last day on earth. Standing there seconds before by the Southwest entrance was like the two being up at the very top of the roller coaster, just teetering on the edge. There was nowhere to go but down, to see it through to it’s end, whatever fate decided.

How do you think it would’ve affected dylan if one of his close family members- father, mother, brother- died?

Honestly, at that time, Dylan was pretty numbed out.  If any of his family members died in ‘99,  it would’ve been, of course, shocking to a degree, but I think he would’ve mostly numbed himself out even more than he already was. It was his coping mechanism for all the infinite pain he already felt. The grief would’ve expressed elsewhere in addition to everything else he was suppressing, in daily doings and distractions, in drinking a whole lot more.
I tend to think if Byron had died, Dylan would’ve been sort of shoulder- shrugging aloof about his death.  He was anger with his brother and pretended not to care.  His posturing was to be disinterested and indifferent in his older brother’s passing since he felt Bryon had no interest in him and had abandoned him quite a while ago. It was kind of like Bryon already died in his mind, you see?  Dylan shouldered everything alone and and prided himself on his self reliance as a coping mechanism to interrupt his vulnerability and sensitivity which was the source of his pain.  ‘The beauty of being numb’ he once said in his journal. If any of his family members suddenly died, he’d decide it was just another shitty thing about existing in humanity and try to act as though it was just one more thing that no longer mattered on top of all the rest. Their deaths would’ve represented all the good and painful times within his family, and within all his hidden grief, would’ve given Dylan more reason, in a long list of others, to go NBK and take his own life.

What do you think the relationship would be like if Dylan dated a girl with a Leo sun, Taurus moon and is libra rising?

Overall the combination of your planets would prove challenging as there’d likely be differences of opinion. It would take effort on both parties to make this relationship work. A benefit though is sharing common ground with the same rising sign of Libra. 🙂

Virgo/Earth (Dylan) and Leo/Fire

Highly unlikely as a romantic couple, the Leo and Virgo temperaments are just too radically different to last as lovers. Leo loves lavish parties, expensive clothing and dramatic moments; Virgo likes shopping for bargains, wearing last year’s business suit and peaceful meditation. Leo loves to bring attention to him or herself, requiring praise on a daily basis. Virgo hopes to avoid the limelight so it can get the work done without attention. In the long run, resentment and annoyance will replace any original attraction between these two. Save the heartburn and avoid this relationship entirely.

Aquarius Moon/Air (Dylan) and Taurus Moon/Earth will have a hard road ahead of them. While they do have some compatibility, one will need to make compromises to overcome the irritation they feel with each other. It is a rare thing for this pairing to work.

Taurus Moon loves their security, material comforts, routines and tranquility. Aquarius Moon wants excitement, freedom, mental stimulation and social interaction. Taurus prefers to use time-honored methods that produce predictable results. Aquarius wants to try the latest gadgets, new ideas and innovate even better ways to do things. Taurus lives in the present while Aquarius lives for the future. This is a classic case of tradition versus change. Both partners are very opinionated, which is one of the few traits they share.

Aquarius Moon and Taurus Moon may have a very strong attraction to one another, but it may be more than they can both endure to make it last any longer than it has to. They may end up with an on again, off again relationship. If they can open up to each other and share, they may both learn a lot that will enrich each of their lives a great deal.

Shared Libra Rising/Air

Two of the same ascendant sign, in this case, a shared Libra Rising, might make you feel like you sense a lot of common ground and “possibility" between you two.

Rising sign plays a huge role in initial attraction and that first spark of chemistry. Sometimes its not very telling at all about the future of the relationship of either true personality, but I think its the first connection for many people. When you first meet someone before you get to know them, you are largely seeing that ascendant more than you will at most other times.
