Yes, the Ever-lasting contrast. Since existence has known, the 'fight' between good & evil has continued. Obviously, this fight can never end. Good things turn bad, bad things become good. My fav. contrasting symbol, because it is so true & means so much – the battle between good & bad never ends… Here we ponder on the tragedy of Dylan Klebold.
In January 1998 came a public sign that something was amiss with Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Eric and Dylan for breaking into a van out in Deer Creek Canyon and stealing $400 worth of…
A little background on The Rising Sign or Ascendant: It is ‘the mask’ of the persona, and the first impression we make on those we meet. It could be said that the qualities of the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon imprints on the outer self as we emerge into the world. After that, each time we encounter a new situation or person, this is the “face” we reveal. If you’ve ever been puzzled by how others describe you, it could be that they’ve encountered your Rising sign qualities. It’s the image facing outward, and might not be how you see yourself at all. It is the front door of the self, but as much a part of the personality as the Sun sign.
By comparison, your Sun Sign describes your basic nature and the core personality traits that remain constant through the ups and downs of life. It is the image you shine out to the world, but it comes from that truest, innermost part of you. The Sun Sign describes your unique personal center.
However, even though Dylan’s Sun Sign is Virgo, he presents more like a Libra in vibe. Why? This is because in addition to his Libra Ascendant, he also has five other planets in Libra as well. (This will be in another post I’m working on.) Heavily influenced by Libra as well as his moon (emotions/feelings) in Aquarius. One could say his astrological natal chart is dominated by Air. It’s no wonder he could not turn off the mental energy and was often thinking a ‘shit loads of El Thoughtz’ 24/7.
If you read the description below, you’ll see how much Dylan’s Libra Rising corroborates Sue Klebold’s own descriptions of her son Pt 1_Pt 2_ Pt 3_Pt 4 as being a good listener and also being flexible, easily persuaded to change his mind to another person’s point of view. Acceptance and approval met everything to Dylan; loyalty to friends meant he came across as essentially easy-going or ‘chill’, soft spoken, respectful, not the sort to make waves, or burn bridges with established friendships. At one point, he was in the midst of a moral dilemma concerned the safety of his childhood friend, Brooks Brown, concerning the death threats on Eric’s website. He made the risky decision to secretly tip off Brooks with the website link on a piece of paper and specified that Brooks should not divulge where he got the information. As the Libran ‘middle man’ caught between the feud of his two good friends, Dylan was able to circumvent potential disharmony with Eric yet also warn Brooks to keep him safe. Brooks also mentioned in ‘No Easy Answers’ that Dylan seemed relieved when Brooks and Eric finally made up and there was peace again between them.
Libra Ascendant/Rising Sign Traits:
“You are a natural diplomat, reasonable, tolerant, fair, always willing to listen to varying viewpoints, and ready to see the other side of an issue. Even if you strongly disagree with someone, you will try to find points of similarity and agreement rather than emphasizing the differences. You often avoid taking an extreme or one-sided stance on anything. You have a strong desire for harmonious and pleasant relationships, and express a spirit of cooperation, compromise, friendship, and fairness. You very much want to be liked and because of your need for approval and acceptance, you are easily influenced by others’ opinions, especially when young. You so much want to please that often you will suppress your own intense or unpleasant feelings in order not to offend others. Sometimes your politeness is interpreted as phoniness or wishy-washiness.
Your need to create harmony extends to your physical environment and personal appearance as well. You appreciate beauty and have a natural sense of balance, symmetry, and proportion. You do everything in good taste, with a sense of style and art. From your home furnishings to your choice of clothing, everything must be aesthetically appealing, not simply functional or utilitarian.
You also feel that relationships are an art, one that especially interests you and one that you are usually quite skilled at, for you possess tact and acute awareness of other people. Marriage is very significant to you and finding the right person to share your life with is extremely important. Being part of a close couple seems natural to you – you are not an independent loner. Having a partner increases your self-confidence. You do have a tendency, however, to become overly dependent on your partner and perhaps not to develop a clearly defined identity outside of the relationship. Finding the balance between being yourself and blending and uniting with another is a challenge for you.
Others see you as an agreeable, smooth, harmonious, and "nice” person. Though there may be much more to you, this is the sort of face you show to the world. You possess personal charm and an understated, noncombative manner. Your motto could be “you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar” for you usually take a friendly, cooperative approach rather than a strong, forceful, I’m-going-to-conquer-the-world attitude.“
Free pass or not, Dylan and Eric hit Rock ‘n Bowl regularly. Management cranks the music, and the DJ plays requests. If you are under twenty-one, the fun stops there: Bartenders card everyone, and a sheriff’s deputy wanders the premises, eagerly ticketing underage smokers. Teenagers in Littleton,…
Beanie Babies was a big thing in the nineties. Dylan may have mentioned to Devon that he hated Beanie Babies but since he knew she liked them, he bestowed one on her as his last birthday gift to her. His parents, however, may not have even known that Dylan hated Beanie Babies. I can see there being that typical sort of disconnect of parents not knowing a plethora of mundane likes/dislikes of their own teenage son. They simply decided upon something child-like comforting to surround the bullet hole on their son’s head for the funeral. We also don’t know how many of his stuffed animals they kept from when he was a child so maybe it was a mix of Beanie Babies and his own stuffed animals? But you can just picture Dylan’s *eye roll* as his spirit looked down on his engulfed Beanie Babies head at the funeral, can’t you? Yep. an infinince of damnation even after death. That sounds like a one-shot fic right there. heh.
Dylan and Eric would talk about how much they despised athletes – the way they carried themselves, their attitude of entitlement. The way they got all the hottest girls. How about that enormous wrestler, six feet four inches of subtlety, who drove a fucking Humvee to school! Who switched to a Viper coupe when he got tired of the Humvee! “Dylan would say, ‘I hate jocks,’ ” says Sarah Slater. ” ‘They’re fucking ignorant,’ ”
Last year at Columbine was a bad year for clique strife. The main problem was a few football players – “steroid poster boys,” one student called them – who embarked on a mission to make life miserable for outcasts, especially the stoners. They were always shoving the potheads against the lockers….
Dylan with the Boston Red Sox hat he would be wearing when he died, and which was found next to his body.
It’s too bad that Dylan didn’t stick around to see his beloved Boston Red Sox finally win the World Series in 2004, after 86 years of disappointment, but the asshole had to go and off…
The Trident is associated with Poseidon, the god of the sea in Greek mythology, the Roman god Neptune, and Shiva, a Hindu God who holds a trident in his hand. In Hindu legends and stories, Shiva uses this sacred weapon to fight off negativity in the form of evil villains. The trident represents the deity in his three aspects of creator, preserver and destroyer.
In Greek myth, Poseidon used his trident to create water sources in Greece and the horse. Poseidon, as well as being god of the sea, was also known as the “Earth Shaker” because when he struck the earth in anger he caused mighty earthquakes and he used his trident to stir up tidal waves, tsunamis and sea storms.
In Roman myth, Neptune also used a trident to create new bodies of water and cause earthquakes.
In the popular role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons, the trident is available as a weapon.
You could call Dylan a thespian. Beginning with a production of Bye Bye Birdie his freshman year, Dylan ran sound on a number of school shows, including Oklahoma! and Frankenstein this year. Sometimes he worked alongside one of his close friends. “Dylan and [the friend (likely Zach Heckler)] would drink during plays,” says Sarah Slater “They would bring in Aftershock [a potent cinnamon-flavored spirit] while Dylan did sound. They wouldn’t do it every time, and they wouldn’t get drunk. They would go somewhere else and get drunk.”
Cliques at Columbine High coexist about as well as cliques do in any American high school: icily. Circulating around the noisy jock center are the preps in their Abercrombie & Finch, cheerleaders giggling near the water fountains, computer geeks, skaters, thespians and debate-teamers. Gangsta…
During his years at Columbine, though, Eric spent the majority of his time with a tall, gawky kid with a big beak and a Jay Leno chin named Dylan Klebold. Dylan often seemed sad, at least around people he didn’t know well. He didn’t talk much. On those rare occasions when he did, he addressed the floor. “He had a lot of pain – he told me that,” says his friend Sarah Slater, 16. “I think that’s part of the reason he snapped, or followed somebody like Eric. Knowing Dylan, I don’t think he would ever do something like that without the influence of a kid like Eric. I’ve heard crazy stories about this Eric Harris kid: ‘Stay away from him. He’s no good.’
Dylan tended to get weepy when he drank – at house parties or parties up in Deer Creek Canyon, in the foothills of the Rockies, which preside over Littleton, and upper-middle-class suburb south of Denver, a burb where no development is finished until the word KNOLLS or MEADOWS is written on a sign out front. The tears were about girls. Dylan wanted a girlfriend but didn’t date much. His escort to the senior prom, Robyn Anderson, was a platonic friend. Uma Thurman was Dylan’s dream girl. Dylan was VoDkA, after his cocktail of choice.
(In the actual article they write VoDkA but since I’m re-writing all of this, might as well do it right. lol) by Peter Wilkinson with Matt Hendrickson, June 10th, 1999.
Before he threw pipe bombs at them Eric Harris threw McDonald’s french fries at girls, during lunch hour in the parking lot at…
Dylan had a difficult time communicating with them, but he is getting better. Dylan said he got a long with his parents “better than most kids.” Dylan was comfortable bringing friends over to his house. When he had problems, which generally meant his grades, he turned to his parents. Dylan felt Tom and Sue were loving, dependable, and trustworthy. Both were equally supportive because they “encourage me to suceed.”
Andrea Sanchez (diversion counselor) about Dylan and his relationship to his parents
Dylan hated Beanie Babies but for Christmas 1998, four months before Columbine, he bought [Devon Adams] one that was gray, white, and black. “Needless to say, I’ve collected anteaters ever since,” she says. After Columbine, she toted the Beanie Baby across the country when she spoke on gun control alongside Tom Mauser, whose son Daniel was killed at Columbine.
As he preached, Marxhausen could see Dylan, laid out before him in an open coffin. A small mountain of beanie babies was piled around the boy’s head, covering the self-administered wound that killed him. It was Saturday, four days after the shootings.
Maybe if Dylan saw these he would have rethought a couple things lol
“from her good body to almost perfect face”
I don’t think Dylan would like this…that definitive isn’t anymore the shy, innocent and pure girl he once admired.
Eric would have liked her, she is sexy;))
Dylan would have jerked off to her pics but he wouldn’t have fallen for her looking like this.
Love the convos. 😉 If Dylan had gone to college for a few years and met her during her modeling years (these pics are mid 2000s) in their twenties and she was still friendly to him, yeah I think he wouldn’t at all be turning her down. 😉 Marla isn’t posing cheesecake bikini on a daily basis. She is a very sporty, active girl that does hiking and skiing, down-to- earth in jeans and whatnot. She isn’t a perfect barbie type either and her face is ‘not quite perfect’ just as he puts it. She has distinct facial features that makes it easy to identify her even now in comparison to her pure, plain school photo. She probably would have been a good opposite of himself to bring him out of his shell.
When Susan Klebold read Dylan’s journal she found out how depressed, lonely and suicidal he was. She never knew the battle that was going on in his mind. She wasn’t aware of his depression and mental illness.
“He had a lot of pain – he told me that", says his friend Sarah Slater, 16.
Religion and poetry in motion = Dylan Klebold’s Hands
His spindly, dexterous fingers remind me of Egyptian Armana period hand art.
“You cannot judge a sinner by the sin they committed, because if you do define them by just that you will never know the person behind it and the reason they did it.”
