Yes, the Ever-lasting contrast. Since existence has known, the 'fight' between good & evil has continued. Obviously, this fight can never end. Good things turn bad, bad things become good. My fav. contrasting symbol, because it is so true & means so much – the battle between good & bad never ends… Here we ponder on the tragedy of Dylan Klebold.
Doodles of Atari Teenage Riot’s logos from Dylan’s day planner (JC-001-026462). Trent Reznor of NIN, another of Dylan’s favorites, was a huge fan of the group.

Dylan’s day planner doodles
September 11, 1997 B-day sketch ’yey dang’ or ‘yey dawg’.
Given Dylan’s sloppy handwriting signature font, it’s completely open to interpretation.

Church explosion
I like the ironic saying up at the top. Reminds me of..
Dark. Light. God. Lucifer. Heaven. Hell. GOOD. BAD. Yes, the ever-lasting contrast. Since existence has known the ‘fight’ between good & evil has continued. Obviously, this fight can never end. Good things turn bad, bad things become good..
Similarities? Well, I’ve always thought so. Hey, they share the same taste in glasses, I mean, c’mon. 😉 Sadly, they probably would’ve liked each other too had they gotten to know one another.
Dylan was in French 4 in junior year (1997-1998), where he apparently had a difficult time getting his work done.
From his day planner for October 10, 1997, trying to encourage himself to get on with his French homework (JC-001-026445).
From Dylan’s college entrance essay to the University…
LOL. Way to go, Dylan! Personally, I think if Zach (his true best friend) had not been in this class with him, Dylan wouldn’t have given himself permission to act out and would’ve been more subdued and inhibited. However, these two boys put together was a bad brew for mischief as they kept up’ing the ante on flaunting rules and respectful behavior. Dylan was generally very shy and quiet but seemed to let loose in the company of those he felt comfortable doing so. Interesting to note that once Zach was suspended he began to curb his behavior. So, did Dylan then too? In a comparison with Eric and Dylan in class: I don’t believe Eric would ever allow himself to be openly disrespectful to the teacher – he was there to learn and keep up his GPA, therefore, Dylan was likely more docile and cooperative in class. And I guess the St. John’s Wort was not helping his ‘motivation’ in doing that annoying French Intro. damn it!
Dylan’s number was definitely 5, though I’m not sure about the “lucky” part. He references 5 a few times in his journal.
Glimpses of Wrath
Clinton Moore (right) told Chris Walker (left) that Nate Dykeman told him of a time in which Klebold was “very scary.” A fight had occurred and he described Klebold as going “crazy.”
OK, I’m going to need your help a bit on this one.
In Chapter 35, “Arrest,” Cullen states:
At some point, Eric may have started a credit card scam. In his notebook, he listed eight steps to complete the scam, though there’s no evidence that he carried…
That is Dylan’s writing and it was from the Anarchist Cookbook.
Every time I hear Nine Inch Nails – A Warm Place, I think of Dylan. Sitting alone in his room, writing in his journal and drawing the lost highway. I wonder what he was thinking and what he felt. What was going on in his head, really.
Jeff Marquardt statement: he had known Dylan since 10/12 years old and had played on a little league baseball team. They had Calculus class and Jeff bowled with Eric and Dylan. Jeff stated Eric bowled from his chest, an attemp to draw attention to himself. He stated Eric allegedly gave a Heil Hitler salute.
Dylan was a good student but had been falling asleep in the 2nd period class each day. Dylan, hyper and full of energy.
Interesting that Jeff described Chad as ‘waving’ to Dylan and not ‘flipping Dylan off in a friendly manner’ as Chad, himself, describes in his account. Censorship on Jeff’s part perhaps?
A quick Happy Fathers Day to Tom Klebold who I’m sure is spending time with Byron and Sue today. I know that in his heart he is imagining Dylan being there with his family. Spending time. I wish I could tell Tom how amazing he is, how he made and raised 2 beautiful sons that are and were meant for so much in life. I know that he too, blamed himself for the things that Dylan did, even though he outwardly said he hadn’t. Mr.Klebold, you are amazing, caring and worth more than just the bad memories you have. You are a very strong man, and I know that deep down Dylan wishes he could still be here with you on this day. It’s a day for dads and their children, and it’s just wrong that you have one that is no longer here. We love you sir, Happy Fathers Day
