9/11 and Mr. 9/11/81

In light of this being the entire week,19 years ago, that Hitmen for Hire was filmed by the boys, and seeing this animated gif of a mirthful Dylan yet again, I’m reminded of this…

Every time I’ve ever watched Hitmen for Hire and the camera abruptly pans down to the CHS entranceway floor grates, I’m immediately reminded of this. The patterned lines of those grates always call to mind the architectural design of the World Trade Center and of course, 9/11 which ironically, as you know, is Dylan’s birthday.  A skosh bit of a prophetic harbinger of an event to come nearly 2 ½ years later? Or just a silly coincidence?  I’ll let you decide.  lol   At any rate, I find it rather eerie.

Did they show hitman for hire in class?

Eric Veik stated that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold asked him to film a video for them that they needed in Eric’s Government Economic class. The assignment was to create a business. Eric and Dylan came up with the idea of being hitmen. The title of the video was: “Hitmen for Hire and the original title was “Revenge for Hire”.

Eric showed the HMFH video in class and Mr. Tonelli gave him an A for it with a score of 83 out of 90.

Quentin Brown [1,324] class did not find hitman video funny; made video with “Du Hast” (song by Rammstein) in background

“…I was still as he came my way again. He stopped and gave me a look I will never forget. If I could face an emotion of god, it would have looked like the man. I not only saw in his face, but also felt emanating from him power, complacence, closure, and godliness.  The man smiled, and in that instant, through no endeavor of my own, I understood his actions.”

Dylan talking in the Hitmen For Hire video.

Guy : What Friday night?
Dylan : That fucking Mexican shit talent show at the school !
Chris Morris : And on what day do I work, so I don’t have to do it ?
Dylan : Alright, have a D, enjoy…

I wondered about this little snippet at the end of Hitmen for Hire.. whether this might be Dylan talking to Chris.

“Mexican talent shit” sounds very Dylan.. But, on the other hand, would Dylan ever nag anyone about not doing what they should to get a better grade? Also, the second part “alright, have a D, enjoy.” the accent doesn’t sound like Dylan, well, to me anyway – almost has a slight New Jersey sound to the accent. And Eric is out of the question here in terms of accent plus the voice is too deep. lol

I’ve wondered too, but listen to the video where Dylan is talking on the Phone. Same deep voice, same accent. It sounds like him and his sarcastic humour. I don’t believe he’s nagging but mainly jocking 🙂
Someone discussed on YouTube about that and wrote “plus, they’re talking about work schedules. Chris and Dylan worked together at blackjack. he’s also referencing drama class, and Dylan did drama, and did the sound for that Mexican Talent Show. if it wasn’t Dylan, i don’t see why they would include that clip as evidence in this video”. I think its another point to consider.

Agreed on all your points. Yes, Dylan worked sound on the Mexican Talent Show. I believe that Dylan even referred to someone as “Mexican Shit” on his (S)hit List. So, I could entirely see him dubbing the name of the show with expletives. lol. He referenced things plenty of times on his “to-do” action items lists in his CHS day planner i.e. “interview shit”. Idk, I’m just a bit on the fence about the sound of the voice – especially the second part of what is said to Chris. It just doesn’t quite sound like him compared to other video clips of his voice. In any case, thanks for the audio clip and translated dialog. 🙂
