You should write a book, and have Rainflesh illustrate it!

Aww, that’s sweet. ☺️ You know, @rainflesh 🙏🏻❤️as my talented amazing illustrator might just be the thing to convince me to do it. Haha!

Aww yisss if you ever do end up writing a book (which really really should happen and would likely 100% knock David Cullen on his stupid sweaty fictitious ass), give me a call and we’ll talk cover art, I’d be honored aha 😮

Bah! Never mind just cover art, I think we’d need to showcase your disarming illustrations throughout each of the chapter and in full color. 😉 Idk about me knocking Davey boy on his arse however I can totally see him sneaking around just to buy the book for all it’s gratuitous Dyl content. Oopsy!

You’re on, m’dear – it’s a deal !  🙂

Btw… I have a request I’d really like to veeery much see you bring to life as I just know you’d do this one perfectly.  ❤

“In the days before he died, I had hugged him and told him how much I loved
him. I held his scratchy face between my palms and told him that he was a wonderful person and that I was proud of him.
Had he felt pressured by this? Did he feel that he could not live up to my expectations?”

I finally got around to taking pictures c: I think this is about as close as it’s gonna get – much better than the last one too. Unfortunately Zazzle has strict dimensions otherwise the font front and back would be much much bigger. Their shirts are pretty decent in quality though, and they have sales literally every week which is a plus. Anyway the font used for the front is called Myraid Pro and the back is Arial Black. DJ Spooky shirt is on hold sadly because I am legitimately stumped on how to get it even remotely similar to Dyl’s lol. But whenever it’s finished I’ll put the design up for anyone interested

I think that’s pretty damn close, m’dear. The color is perf too. Nevermind the ubiquitous WRATH tees that are out there, resurrecting Dyl’s casual-wear stuff, especially his own tongue-in-cheek designs is a beautiful thang. ❤

This was posted by that wtfcolumbiners blog on one of my drawings:

some nice happy doodles of everyone’s favorite mass murderers, because killing people is just adorable

Which is hilariously inane and simple minded considering the content of the drawing itself as nothing at all to do with the Columbine Massacre, let alone the killing of people. I’m not even going to bother feeding the trolls, but I just wanted to kind of clarify one personal thing about myself and my blog, for anyone that might be following me. I’m a bit new here so I’m not sure if I’m in the minority or the majority, but I don’t agree at all with what Eric and Dylan did on April 20th, 1999. Not once have I ever been support of their actions. Not once have I drawn them acting out NBK or dressed in Wrath or Natural Selection shirts. Because I personally don’t agree with what they did. In fact I think everything they did that day, and the days leading up to it, were absolutely deplorable.

But, regardless of Columbine, I still don’t think it is fair to paint them as one-dimensional killers. These were still people’s kids, friends, family. Spitting words out like mass murderer, killer, bastard, whatever – realistically, yes, one can argue that that’s exactly what they were on April 20th, but can they be defined by those curses for the entirety of their lives? Of course not. To dehumanize them is to pretend as if the lives they had before April 20th were essentially waste. The entire situation is pretty complex, and even so I’m still a noob to this entire community, but what I’ve been able to realize is that they were two intelligent and individualistic young kids who were led astray by a number of factors. Part of the reason why I find Columbine so interesting is the question of why? Why did they do it? What brought them to do it? And generally I’ve found extremely helpful and informative analyses on various blogs on this site. In any case it’s helpful to research Eric and Dylan’s thoughts and journal entries. It’s a constant reminder of how aspects like depression, anger, insecurities, self-loathing, bullying, etc can affect a teenage mind, and how easily said teenagers seem to sweep it under the rug instead of talking about it.

Anyway, I enjoy painting scenes of Eric and Dylan’s lives pre-NBK. And if I’m going to get called out on drawing nice happy doodles of everyone’s favorite mass murderers, then so be it. These kids need to try harder *yawn*

Perfectly sound reasoning to me.^^  You graciously spent far more time than you should with the troll.  Oh well, worth a try.  Please carry on with your awesome art.. We get what you’re doing just fine. 🙂

So this is still a work in progress but I’m trying to recreate Dylan’s ridiculously elusive DJ Spooky shirt of nonexistence. Unfortunately this is taking longer than I thought since I have to start from completely scratch, but I think it’s getting there.

I’m thinking his shirt was a promotional tee for DJ Spooky the Subliminal Kid’s Object Unknown Tour (likely in 1998). They must have only sold or handed out a few, since I can’t find any information about it anywhere online. Given its obscurity, if it ever appears in the wild I’m thinking it might only be at local thriftshops or random Goodwills scattered who knows where. DJ Spooky doesn’t even use the same logo for any of his albums anymore. Then again this was years and years ago, when he first got started as an underground trip hop musician. So things have definitely changed since then.

Anyway I had to recreate the DJ Spooky font and the crazy background design from scratch so that it would be higher-res. It was a long and difficult process but only because I’m slow at vector art – I think someone with more knowledge of fonts or who uses Adobe Illustrator could probably do it quicker and better.

The font I referenced was from DJ Spooky’s Object Unknown album (bottom left) – though the quality of the Morning Ritual makes it hard for me to figure out if DJ in DJ Spooky is yellow or white. The squiggly signature design I referenced from DJ Spooky’s Synthetic Fury album (1998) below. But I’m noticing that it doesn’t quite match the design on Dyl’s shirt, so I’m still trying to figure this one out. The two look completely different to me imo. But I can’t find anything similar anywhere. So now I’m stuck :c Plus I still have no idea what the front looks like. Hmm.

Spookyilicious! Looking forward to seeing how this progresses. 🙂
The tee is definitely non existent online. Think it’s safe to say it was a limited edition. Imo, DJ looks yellow and yes, the squiggly lines are different patterns.
