do you really think Dylan asked that Marla girl to prom? because I feel like he would of written about it in his journal? And he & his parents said he didn’t want to go to prom & his parents payed him like $100 to go with Robyn Anderson.

This is an interesting ask and I’ve thought about this myself on occasion – so thanks for it. 🙂 

Marla Foust states this in the 11k: 
“Did know Dylan. He asked her to this year’s prom, but she already had a date. Would not have went if she already had a date.”

Robyn Anderson states this in the 11k:
“Robyn stated the only thing that Dylan might have said to her regarding the Columbine High School shooting massacre was that when she asked him to go to prom with her he wanted to know what date she was referring to or what weekend the prom was going to be held.  When she told him it was the weekend of the 17th, she could only think that he was thinking of when this tragic event was going to take place. “Robyn stated that he was reluctant to go to the prom but that he did so as a favor to her.” ..and in this interview: [source] “The only thing that I can ever think — I mean, just randomly, when he asked me what day prom was. And I told him, you know, it was, you know, a weekend — you know, two weekends away, and he asked me what day, and I told him the 17th. And it seemed like he had something else, you know, going on after that. That’s the only thing I can think of that really kind of says, you know, that he had other plans, you know, that…

Robyn states that she asked Dylan to the prom and he “wanted to know what date” the prom was.   So, based on this, we know that Dylan would likely not have asked Marla to the prom before Robyn asked him because he wouldn’t have known when the prom was and it’s proximity to NBK.  Most especially, I do not think Dylan would accept going to the prom ‘as a favor’ to his close friend Robyn and then underhandedly ask Marla after his commitment to Robyn.  Dylan was especially loyal to his friends; it’s why he managed to maintain his friendships.  Loyalties aside, Dylan was also timid with girls. He had never been to dances and claimed to dislike them.   His awkwardness would not have allowed him the nerve to ask another girl out, even one that he reeeeally liked, after his female friend had just spared him the embarrassment by asking him out first.   Firstly, for Dylan, it would have been majorly embarrassing to ask any girl out to prom, let alone, a hypothetical Dream Girl from his journal (if it’s even Marla ), and secondly, even if he did do so, Dylan would then have to manage damage control by telling Robyn that he wanted to go to the prom with another girl, who accepted his ask, and there is just no way in hell that Dylan what have the balls to pull that off. That would be a mess that would cause him great anxiety.  Dylan would feel pretty sheepish about himself for breaking his commitment to Robyn and acting like a royal douche bag player. I think he valued his friendship with Robyn, he did her a favor and agreed to her ask and his character is such that he would not be sneaky in asking another girl behind Robyn’s back.   

I know that Marla says that Dylan asked her out in her statement but I question the validity of that simply based on the fact that Dylan didn’t even know when prom was.  The only thing on his mind was when NBK would occur (basically what amounted to his grandiose suicide mission) and thinking of the reward that awaited him: the happiness in the Halcyons, with the ideal Muse of his dreams.  For him to make the actual effort to ask a girl he liked to prom would’ve taken too much effort – it was a ‘human thing to do’ and he was already checked out of that sort of superficial minutia. If Dylan hypothetically asked Marla out and she refused, you can bet he would’ve omitted that from ‘the reality’ of his journal.  Conversely, he didn’t write about going to prom with Robyn and a bunch of friends either.  Dylan rarely, if ever, wrote about specific happenings in his life.  Less than one percent of his journal is superfluous tidbits like ‘the church rec thing was fun’. He tended to write figuratively about his concepts and feelings and not about actual events that he was a part of in life.. likely because he didn’t feel much a part of them. 

Also, to be fair, Dylan’s parents gave Dylan money so that he could properly enjoy the prom with Robyn. The expenses likely took care of the dinner out, his tuxedo, Robyn’s corsage, split limo costs, money for the gambling table After Prom. So, I don’t think it’s fair assessment to assume that Dylan’s parents bribed him to go.  It was an encouragement gift – sort of a “we, your parents, support you in having a very fun time at your senior prom” type thing. And they knew Dylan required that little extra incentive nudge because of his social reticence. 

Thank you very much, now I understand (unfortunately, I’ve never played Doom).

Yeah, Doom is a really big part of Columbine.  Not in the way it was usually taken, that “Doom made them do it!” but as a huge influence on their lives and thoughts.  Even knowing a little bit about the game and its storyline can be a big help in understanding Eric and Dylan’s references in their journals and things like that.  You don’t have to become a fanatic to get the references, you just need to know a little about the game.  (There was actually both Doom and Doom II: Hell on Earth that were released before 1999, but the games are very similar.)  

Then there’s the Doom series of novels, which heavily influenced Eric and Dylan (Eric named his shotgun after Arlene Sanders, one of the man characters in the series).  In order, there’s Doom: Knee Deep in the Dead, Doom: Hell on Earth, Doom: Infernal Sky, and Doom: Endgame.  You may note that those just happen to correspond to the section headers Dylan left in Eric’s 1998 yearbook!

Byron Klebold, brother of Dylan Klebold, was born. Byron was 21 at the time of the shootings.

Hmm..interesting how the original date of my surgery was 9/11 and based on this post today, it just dawned on me that 10/23 was the rescheduled, finalized date last year, on this very day and I was dead to this world on anesthesia for 10 hours.. Niice… 😉 The one year anniversary already beyond the year of chaos.. /personal

In lieu of his actual palms, I’ll read his hand size/shape given what I generally (can not help but notice) about his hands. 😉 Again, this would be my personal interpretation so, of course, other people’s pov may vary.

Air hands (hey, it fits the abundance of air energy in his natal chart..) feature square or rectangular palms with long fingers. They often have protruding knuckles, low thumbs, or dry skin. The length of the palm is usually equal to the length of the fingers. Air types are very intellectual, always curious and full of ideas. They practically hum with nervous energy, and can be prone to worry and stress. People with Air hands are great communicators, but they can internalise their feelings too much. This can lead to difficulties within their close relationships.

Long fingers show someone who is anxious, delicate, good-looking and well-mannered. Long Thumb – Such persons are self-willed, self -dependent and control others. In their lives intelligence has more importance and they are called intellectuals. Based on Dyl’s drivers license, he has very long, spaced-out, flowing groove lines on his thumb print. The pattern he has is the most common variety called a Loop (governed by water). The loop glyph flows in and out of the same side of the fingertip. One triradius supports the loop. Loops look like a droplet of water. Water is sensitive, fluid and cohesive. If you have many loops you are adaptable, emotional, imaginative and responsive. You need to belong and to merge with a group. Loops are the most common glyph. 

. That would be my take..er, not that I’ve noticed or anything. 😉 

i find his nails and nailbeds really unique. i don’t know why but i notice details like that. i think you can read a lot about a person from their hands. you can tell a person’s age, weight, how well they take care of themselves, their health, and even bitten down nails for example can indicate a nervous personality. and of course gestures and body language. upward facing palms can invoke trust while speaking, hands in pockets or hidden subconsciously suggest feelings of shyness or distrust. i notice Dylan tends to use gestures while speaking a lot which some body language experts claim indicates intelligence. he has very large, flat, squarish nailbeds, almost no curve at all. they therefore add a very masculine yet strangely graceful look to his hands. i only knew one other guy with hands exactly like his…funnily enough he was 6’4, skinny and a Virgo too…born on 9/11. how weird.

Hmm…what is about towering virgoan men born on 9/11 and their unique hands? That is a little uncanny! I was debating on the figure tip shapes given and didn’t quite think the ‘square’ or ‘rectangle’ variety fit him exactly. The overall shape of his hand is long, and tapered looking from a distance, so conical fits. Up close, as in the bit where he’s opening his locker or in the ‘Morning Ritual’ clip, his nail tips finish off squared – but not overly so – the nails look very clean and perfect He has sort of a unique blend of masculine/feminine characteristics about his hands. They’re smooth and he has a fine bit of light blonde hair visible only in the sun. I would agree that I’ve not seen anything quite like that and so it’s..fascinating! And, yes, very express with his hands while talking in social situations likely as a way to compensate with the timidity. I think overall, he has a really good sense of body language when he’s embodying a character as in all the video production clips. He really gets into it. As they say, often actors are shy. But that’s off topic. 🙂

great observations! you describe them a lot better than i did lol. and yes, it is definitely a very odd coincidence. sigh. i don’t know what it is exactly, perhaps being a fellow earth sign makes me biased, but i definitely have a soft spot for Virgoans. Dylan definitely had that Mercurial (Virgo Sun) yet Venusian (Libra Ascendant) air about him…’Venus as a boy’ comes to mind…often his body language is quite painstaking and measured, as though he hasn’t quite mastered how to control those long limbs yet :’) perhaps that venus-ascendanct conjunction in the lovely sign of Libra explains that shy, gentle charm he has about him…he is blissfully unaware of it which makes it all the more endearing. gentle is a word that came up a lot when friends and family were asked to describe Dylan, and i can definitely see why. but back to the hands: particularly in the ‘frankenstein roast’ video with brooks, his hand gestures are especially exaggerated. like you said, it seems like he might have had to learn this way of getting his point across 🙂 and in the radioactive clothing video as he reaches into the trunk, you can see the same little blond hairs on his arm and knuckles shining faintly in the sunlight. the locker is a favorite of mine also. and his prom pictures show just how long, graceful and tapered his fingers are in their full glory. when i first saw them i thought they looked quite remarkable. hahaha. my favorite image of those hands might be the rampart range clip where you can see his skin turn the most delicate shade of snowy pink from the cold…every tendon visible with even the slightest movement…it also makes me a little sad. i must say i agree with you that his nails always looked completely immaculate 🙂 i’m sure you have noticed all these things already…it’s good to know that other people appreciate the beauty of those gorgeous hands 🙂
