The Everlasting Contrast, Dylan caught between good and bad. What do you think Dylan considered to be good about himself? What do you think he liked about himself?

There wouldn’t be too much he considered good about himself. At least, he had a hard time recognizing it, anyway. Though I think he felt he took care of his friends. He was there for them and helped them in their times of need..that was how he demonstrated his love. ‘Love’ encompassed a lot for Dylan and it meant more than just only the form of romantic love. And I think he felt hurt and taken for granted when his friends didn’t do the same for him..When they didn’t reciprocate and be there for him when he felt all alone, in need of help. Even though he never let on much, if at all, that he needed it. And he tried hard to be a good, perfect son to his parents and be all things they expected him to be but he couldn’t live up to that much longer. He tried to be good, to do the right things in life and to be perfect but he knew he was slipping at it, at the façade of perfection and it was only a matter of time…
