“I talked to someone who had to watch the library tape for police training and he said it made HIM cry. Dylan was kneeling and saw Eric kill himself and cried hysterically and uncontrollably – his whole body was shaking, his head was back, etc….” (1/2)

2/2 “…He either slapped or shook Eric and then put his hands together like he’d pray but just covered his face, cried more and then killed himself. He died crying because his friend left him to die alone. Patrick Ireland may have heard him sobbing, not coughing.” IS THIS TRUE?!

A few things here stand out as questionable to me:

1.  “I talked to someone who…”

Who exactly did you talk to? More importantly, how did anon even reach the point in the conversation with said someone to even broach such a conversation with the supposed someone?  The problem I have with this is that anyone could make a random claim like this without giving the specific details. It’s all very vague and sensational sounding.

2. How in the world is it that after sixteen years beyond Columbine not even one employee from the police force has leaked the library tape to anyone? The Basement Tapes were sealed so tight that only a select few people got to see it and yet they would allow an allegedly existing library tape to be freely distributed for police force training across the country?   What? You gotta be kidding me, right?  And how is it over this decade and a half we haven’t heard from multiple people leaking information about what they saw on these tapes during their police training?  Wouldn’t we hear at least a few officers, not just this one finally in the year 2015, tempted to tell their story of what they saw on the tape?  Wouldn’t a few other people’s stories get out on the internet with dovetailing information by now?  I would definitely think so.  Seems fishy to me.

3. Why would Dylan be ‘slapping’ or ‘shaking’ a dead Eric with his head blown off completely unrecognizable? Does that even make some semblance of sense?   There wouldn’t be anything to slap or shake to bring him back to life. Dylan would’ve known the moment he glanced at Eric that it would’ve been exercise in futility since Eric’s head was visibly blown apart with blood seeping out onto the carpet.  Plus, Dylan was also expecting to die. Of course he’d react shaken to Eric shooting himself so suddenly and before himself but Dylan was also planning on dying too and dying was the icing on the cake to NBK for him.  This scenario reads to me like someone who had no plan in place and was completely and utterly surprised that suicide was in even in the plan at all for either Eric or himself.  Given that Eric and Dylan had just killed people,  watched a bunch of people die, I doubt Dylan would’ve been that ‘hysterical’ that stage of the game.  Dylan having experienced Eric die right beside him would’ve wanted to leave too and as quickly as possible.  He would not be trying to shake and revive his dead friend nor praying.  This is my feeling on how this thing reads compare to my own sense of things.

Lastly, we need to remember that the so-called ‘Library Tapes’ are not confirmed by authorities as evidence that even exists.  According to Jeffco, the official record is that there was nothing filmed in the library. I can’t recall off hand whether their official statement was that there was cameras in the library but they just weren’t on that day or whether they claimed their were no cameras in the library. In any case, they stated there are no such tapes in existence. Now, of course, it’s highlly possible they’re stating this for the record purely because they believe such content being made public would be very damaging to the victims’ and perpetrators families to be floating around on tv or the web, etc.  Imo, even lending copies for police training is highly risky because someone is bound to be tempted to make a copy for themselves and it would’ve surfaced somewhere on the webs by now, after all these many years.

Is this true, you ask? This story sound very melodramatic and it makes for a good rumor, one of many easily started and spread on the internet. I mean, it makes everyone picture it visually in their minds and react emotionally to Dylan praying and crying, but on the other hand, you’ve got to look at the fact that there is absolutely no source to back up this claim. It is told from an anonymous ‘source’ who claims to have talked to a ‘someone’ and this is supposed to somehow be credible enough.  Well, it’s not honestly.  So, my suggestion is to take it with a grain of salt. 🙂

Do you think Dylan would like sexual blood play?

Dyl had a kinky wild side to himself which he kept completely secret and compartmentalized, even within himself.  Based on his journal, we know that he has a ‘bondage extreme liking’ (whatever this precisely entails) as well as foot fetish liking too – so any of those sub-categories of niche preferences that fall under bondage or B/D and/or S/M play is up for anyone’s speculation. He was a cutter and mentions in his journal the marks he made “11 depressioners” on himself. There is a certain sense of release in the act of cutting. He seemed to be into his knife collection (or at least, boasting about having one).  He liked the movie Natural Born Killers and probably dug the fantasy of two fated lovers who are killers up against the world and I speculated here that he may have enjoyed entertaining a blood pact with his fated love to seal their devotion.  During NBK he was heard idly suggesting that he and Eric use their knives. Given all of that, had he actually gotten around to being comfortable enough to explore some of his taboo kinks with the right, sexually uninhibited girl friend, and that’s an if, Dylan might’ve been attracted to the idea of exploring a bit of blood letting coupled with some intense sex to heighten and enhance a whole other level of release and euphoria.

It wouldn’t have been a regular activity but a special thing done on occasion to deepen their level of trust and intimacy.

But again, this would be speculation based off of all the other factors I mentioned above..

The short answer here is a.. maybe.😉

Do you think the public purposely publicize ugly pictures of mass murderers on their magazines and such because they don’t want people to be attracted to them? I’ve seen the picture of Adam Lanza standing up smiling with his blue shirt many times, and that’s probably his least attractive picture. His bowlcut looks horrible there. But he has good pictures, and I haven’t seen those publicized as much, it’s the same with all shoots it feels like. All the ugly pictures people see, not the hot ones.

Adam Lanza took good pictures – where?  I must have missed this. 😉

No, I don’t think that the ‘public’ or media intentionally posts bad or ugly photos of mass murderers so people won’t find them appealing. What some find attractive others will see as ‘ugly’ or ‘weird’ so there’s no way to really arbitrarily control any of that for all masses that are consuming media or magazines. Case in point, a lot of women find Dylann Roof’s photos attractive but I find him a beady eyed dork with a toddler bowl cut (sorry ladies, matter of personal preference. ;)) But plenty like the photos of his being used in the media.  Eric and Dylan had fairly decent photos published of them in the media around the aftermath of Columbine and Anders Behring Breivik and Elliot Rodger are examples of conventionally attractive mass shooters with ‘model’ type features and their photos are not particularly bad ones. Some of the mass shooters have glazed over vacant stares like James Holmes yet the media has also shown photos of him where he looks decent enough before the mental illness set in.  So, no, I don’t think your theory holds up for all mass murderers.

Some of the people in the Columbine community are the reason why the tapes will never be released. The way they act. Personally I’d like to see them, or at least parts of them, but they are just further ruining it.

Mmm, at this point, it’s not really even anything as petty as that?  The fact of the matter is that the tapes were announced as “officially destroyed” by Jeffco.(doesn’t matter much if they’re mincing words and the physical tapes were destroyed yet digital copies exist) and so there is no opportunity at all for anything as insignificant as a internet protest petition (and let’s face it, those are a dime a dozen and useless af) or the behavior of Tumblr Columbiners that  will ever sway whichever authorities have those hypothetically assumed digital copies in their possession to ever release them.  The fact that Jeffco has made the official claim back in February of this year was their way of underscoring to all of those that would write, call and hound them about it, that they now consider the Columbine case to be closed and shut and those infamous tapes are no longer even in their own power to consider releasing evermore because they are destroyed and so permanently, physically redacted from the public’s eye for good.

rainflesh:

So this is still a work in progress but I’m trying to recreate Dylan’s ridiculously elusive DJ Spooky shirt of nonexistence. Unfortunately this is taking longer than I thought since I have to start from completely scratch, but I think it’s getting there.

I’m thinking his shirt was a promotional tee for DJ Spooky the Subliminal Kid’s Object Unknown Tour (likely in 1998). They must have only sold or handed out a few, since I can’t find any information about it anywhere online. Given its obscurity, if it ever appears in the wild I’m thinking it might only be at local thriftshops or random Goodwills scattered who knows where. DJ Spooky doesn’t even use the same logo for any of his albums anymore. Then again this was years and years ago, when he first got started as an underground trip hop musician. So things have definitely changed since then.

Anyway I had to recreate the DJ Spooky font and the crazy background design from scratch so that it would be higher-res. It was a long and difficult process but only because I’m slow at vector art – I think someone with more knowledge of fonts or who uses Adobe Illustrator could probably do it quicker and better.

The font I referenced was from DJ Spooky’s Object Unknown album (bottom left) – though the quality of the Morning Ritual makes it hard for me to figure out if DJ in DJ Spooky is yellow or white. The squiggly signature design I referenced from DJ Spooky’s Synthetic Fury album (1998) below. But I’m noticing that it doesn’t quite match the design on Dyl’s shirt, so I’m still trying to figure this one out. The two look completely different to me imo. But I can’t find anything similar anywhere. So now I’m stuck :c Plus I still have no idea what the front looks like. Hmm.

Spookyilicious! Looking forward to seeing how this progresses. 🙂
The tee is definitely non existent online. Think it’s safe to say it was a limited edition. Imo, DJ looks yellow and yes, the squiggly lines are different patterns.

I’m glad Eric would have at least realized that mixing blood is unsafe. Kind of ironic considering a lot of things he did were dangerous.

Yes, you’d think, huh? But Eric wasn’t reckless about some things. He had OCD tendencies and was a very controlled sort of personality. He had trouble letting himself go with drinking, even smoking correctly and probably didn’t inhale deep with weed.  When it came to the neatness of his bedroom and also his sense of hygiene, he was more mindful and fastidious.  Therefore, that is why I say that he would have much more reservations of the two about blood pacts.

Anon is wrong. dylans mustache looks extremely thick in the breakfast run vid. see it yourself. its very very thick

Yes, the day before the massacre, April 19th, Dylan had a full ‘stache going on. Somewhat ‘thick’ but light in color. If he kept it during the massacre, which according to the autopsy report, he did, it’s not at all visible in the photo of him laying dead on the library floor. I think his facial hair was light enough to blend in with his pale skin tone so that from a distance in that photo, you couldn’t really even make out his facial hair.

What is a “halcyon girl.” I keep seeing it. Is it meant to be a girl in his halcyon world or a girl that’s perfect? Sorry for my English.

Exactly that, you have it. 🙂 The Halcyon Girl is what people have taken to referring to The Girl (or one of a few potential candidates) that Dylan wrote about in his journal and love letter. THG is his perfect girl, the one he felt was fated for him either in his earth existence or to be revealed to him after he ascended to the Halcyon.

Eric and Dyl were so obsessed with Natural Born Killers, had the found their “halcyon” dream girls they would have done the hand slitting thing that Micky and Mallory did on their wedding.

Mm..of the two, I’d say Dylan would’ve been more obsessed with that sort of fantasy union from Natural Born Killers..he’d be much more likely to cut his and his Lady Love’s hand with the blade of his own special knife to mix and mingle their life force blood flow as one.   Eric would probably consider that a bit unsafe and unsanitary. lol  He might do it but it’d take convincing.

Dylan would be more naturally inclined towards such a symbolically ritualistic, romantic sort of an act which would be a sort of proof of their love for one another.  Both boys had knives but I think Dylan coveted them just a bit more.

You completely misinterpreted my message. I meant that we (including myself) think of how it would have been like to interact with them, so we imagine to make ourselves feel better. It’s silly to most, but it’s the best we got. It’s inaccurate because like Brooks said we can never truly know who they were. Unless we someone went back in time and actually got on a high enough level with them to understand.

Oh, I completely misinterpreted you,  huh.  riiight.  So, why not just say it this way^^ from the start then?

No need to answer as it’s a rhetorical question..  Besides of which I fully understood you the first time around.

Even though these scenarios are silly sometimes, inaccurate and imaginary. It’s all we have of the boys, make belief. Imagining what interacting would be like with them and such. Unless a time machine is invented in the next few years.

Even though your commenting opinion comes across silly and pointless, I won’t reflect much on it save for my immediate *laugh roll* reaction. *SIGH* C’mon now, they’ve been dead for over sixteens years, people. What else did you think would be possible besides conjecture amidst the facts?   Duh.
Stop stating the obvious all so you can insert in those catty little digs in that first sentence of yours.   No one is twisting your arm to visit this blog if you find it so ‘silly’, ‘inaccurate’ and ‘make believe’. Sheesh. Everyone’s a critic.   Now, run along and go find that time machine of yours. We’re waiting with baited breath for you to supply all of us with that dead-on accuracy that you lament for so.

When that guy dusted Dyl’s coat, was that a playful thing or kind of a passive aggressive form of bullying? I can’t tell from the GIF, and it’s hard to read Dylan’s reaction.

It was a playful thing in his mind, the duster dude, but it was also kind of a thought-less jest which in Dylan’s own sensitive reactive mind, felt like an instant mockery of his form of dress by way of his duster trench coat which was his coveted armor and uniform while at Columbine. He was used to getting flack all the time at Columbine for wearing his duster trench. It gravely offended him that someone would take a feather duster to it, and they were clearly not a friend of his just some acquaintance that was part of the stage cast and/or crew. Since this wasn’t someone Dylan knew too well, he felt as though yet another person was harassing him and touching his personal space and so he was FED up with it. And this dude was doing it while someone else was watching – so it’s like he’s feeling ganged up on but not only that, to add insult to injury, that someone watching was a girl which probably peeved and humilated him all the more. If you watch the video closely, you can see his body language is very aggressively defensive in posture. Dylan goes bounding by without a care, minding his own business, and then suddenly stops super abruptly. He pivots his boots back and focuses on the guy and that asinine feather duster flicking on his personal being. And Dylan’s gaze is rather pointed and scathing. You don’t see Dylan laughing or smiling back or talking to that dude at all. Instead, he takes his hand and flicks downward at the duster cape as if to brush off the scum that tried to poke fun of him. He then stares loooong and hard back at the dude as if to say “better not fucking do that again if I were you.” It’s so uncomfortable in those seconds of him staring at the guy, that the girl looks nervously between Dylan and the dude as if she realizes how awkward the joke ended up being because it was clearly NO joke to Dylan. Then Dylan turns and stalks off the stage all ruffled and supremely business-like. Moral to the story: What one person might consider a light hearted joke isn’t necessarily how the other party is going to receive it most especially when the two are clearly not friends.
