Someone claiming to be the person who wrote the letter posted it on Reddit and it was heartbreaking. It said something at the end to the effect of “I hope whoever is doing this to our school gets hung in the middle of town and no bullets have ripped your huge heart or the brain I want to know more about”. If I can find it I’ll send the link.

Sure, I’ll have a look at your link – but again, it’s ‘someone claiming to be the person who wrote the letter on Reddit’ so all we can do is take it with a grain of salt because anyone on Reddit can claim this type of thing.

Hi. In regards to your “What is Dylan’s favorite song” question, where did you get that information? I’m curious as to where you found out as Dylan Klebold will always be, just like you said in your bio, my favorite contrasting symbol :)

Dylan never stated which song was his favorite but as someone asked what I thought he would consider was his ‘favorite’, my strong sense of feeling is that he’d say that Disarm was a top favorite because it represented exactly how he saw himself in this world.  Too intelligent, too self aware and ‘old in his shoes’  as a young boy and always, always, that deep sense and fear of abandonment and separateness from others. It’s his deep feelings of sadness, silently crying out inside, yet all you see is his smile concealing all the pain.

I also get the sense that he liked the chill beat of Chico’s Groove by the Chemical Brothers which has no vocals just a few voice samples. It’s why he wrote it so many times in his day planner and also in his yearbook signature to people.  It’s embodies the spirit of Dyl when he is in a fleeting happy-go-lucky mood. In fact, there is a part of that song in the beginning that I’ve had ‘oh wow!’ synchronous recognition with another artist’s song that I’d been listening to and realized in a flash why I was so into that song on a subconscious level. It was almost as though his spiritual signature was embedded in this other song and it completely echoed Chico’s Groove in the exact rhythm. It feels like Dyl is the only way I can describe it..

And…I’m not sure about what else you were asking?   Can you rephrase it please?

Are Eric and Dylan’s diaries we have the full released diaries?

As far as I know, the claim is that their journals were released in their entirety but Jeffco doesn’t really have a good track record when it comes to honesty. I would bet there might be more bits of their journals we’ve never seen. Plus, I know there was a lot more released for Eric than Dylan. We don’t nearly have as much of his school work assignments or diversion documents such as his apology letter to the victim of the van theft.

I personally think that the whole “love letter to Dylan” is a load of balony and that Reddit message is very likely fake. From what I’ve been researching, Eric did have a few girls who liked him, so I’m wondering whether he was the one who the girl Mike Judge spoke of

That’s quite possible especially concerning Reddit posts. According to Mike Judge’s article, which boy it actually was for was not mentioned so it’s a 50/50 chance. All we can do is speculate and those that believe the Reddit poster will maintain it was Dylan.

What was written in that letter to Dylan? What were some of the things written on his cross?

The letter is private and so no one knows the specific contents of it. It is a confession letter, generally speaking, declaring she realized that she had fallen in love with Dylan.

Some of the things written in Dylan’s memorial cross:

 “How can anyone forgive you?”
“Through Jesus Christ, That’s how!”
“May God have mercy on your soul”
“Sorry we all failed you”
“Forgive but never forget!!!!”
“No one is to blame”
“Hate breeds hate”
“Flowers for your family”
“Murdering (or Evil) bastard”
“Jesus will forgive”
“Jesus loved you”
“Why?”

There was also a sign posted on the front that said,
“Father, forgive them for they know not what they do ~ Jesus”

I dont think when Eric wrote “me and Dylan” it was him putting himself first I think it was just improper grammar, which both of their journals have alot of. And also i don’t think he took him for granted, I think he knew the kind of friend he had in Dylan. If he didn’t I don’t think he would’ve been so fixated on him and their friendship. I think Dylan meant alot to him and not just because of NBK. Eric wrote that Dylan was his best friend before they started planning

I was pretty much being, at least, partially facetious about Eric starting his sentences ‘me and Dylan’ rather than ‘Dylan and I’.  Yes, the two had lazy/sloppy improper grammar in their journals but Eric was far worse of the two. Anyway…

Dylan and Eric met in Jr. High School and their bond cemented even deeper by the time they worked at Blackjack in Sophomore year of high school. So, they knew each other pretty well by that point and they recognized that both had interests in common. They’d begun to seriously plan after the van theft arrest (March ‘98) so Eric was already sure even before this point that Dylan was a true blue friend, good enough to be considered Eric’s ‘best friend’. Dylan was there for Eric. He proved himself worthy through his actions like for example, working a double shift at Blackjack so that Eric could tend to his sick dog because Dylan knew how much that dog meant to Eric not that Dylan liked working or was thrilled about earning a larger paycheck. He did it as a favor to his good friend.

Nate didn’t win over Kristi, Kristi liked Eric more than him

Nate liked Kristi, Kristi liked Eric, Eric liked Alyssa Sechler..that is, until Nate started dating Kristi, then Eric started flirting with Kristi and Nate and Eric had a falling out over it. Ultimately, Kristi and Nate attended prom together along with Dylan and Robyn. Eric didn’t attend prom because, well, he wasn’t able to find a girl to date him. So, I’d say that yes, Nate did win Kristi over.

Because Eric was very attached to Dylan, he was basically everything to him in that last year. All Eric wrote about was “me and Dylan” “me and V” like they were brothers of war. Dylan barely mentioned Eric in his writings and when he did, he wrote “gawd!” after his name. And he even planned to off himself before him and Eric’s plan which gives me the impression that he didn’t give two shits about him

I think the previous anon meant how Eric considered Dylan his best friend when Dylan only thought of Eric as a good friend. I think Eric definitely believed they were closer than Dylan thought they were but idk :T

Attachment isn’t the same thing as ‘caring’ though. And, yes, Eric was very attached, very co-dependent with Dylan. Eric basically weakened his ties with his other potential friendships until he had just that one friend who he would call his ‘best’ and only. Eric spared with Brooks and turned that friendship into a cold war between them for over a year. Eric started acting like he disliked Zack around summer of ‘98, and for no apparent reason by Zack estimation. Eric began competing with Nate for Kristi Epling’s attentions, and only went after Kristi when he knew Nate was interested in her in *that way*; he then proceeded to be mad at Nate for winning over Kristi. So, basically, that left Dylan, who was very loyal to Eric. Dylan’s *caring* towards Eric is demonstrated by his choosing to stick with him devotedly after Eric had burned his other friendship options. Dylan had a fair amount of other friends besides Eric. He could’ve broken off his friendship with Eric at any time, and yet, he chose to continue associating with him. Why would he bother if he didn’t care for Eric? Dylan also had no trouble maintaining friendships unlike Eric. But, Dylan also understood deeply what it felt like when others that he cared for chose to abandon him, to ‘destroy a love’ and he wrote about this in his journal, particularly in regards to Zack abandoning him for Devon. No, Dylan would never abandon Eric especially when the two now shared in common a rather unique and nihilistic future aspirations.

If you look back at Eric’s relationships before he moved to Littleton, he always that one ‘best friend’ above others. Dylan now became that replacement ‘ever faithful’ friend Eric so required. The kind that didn’t just play war games in the backyard like Eric used to love doing back in Michigan and New York. This was a new kind of best friend that was no longer satisfied by just playing fake war games with paintball guns or endless Doom death matches in the safety of their bedrooms, no, Dylan, like Eric, was willing to turn the fantasy of war into a reality all to realize their need for revenge. Yes, to Eric, Dylan was his ‘best friend’ and so he always referenced the both of them in tandem as if they were a unit “me and Dylan” or ‘me and V". The english is incorrect but this is Eric Harris here 😉 Rebby prefers to put himself as numero uno before Dylan as that ‘Bro in Arms’ pairing.

As for Dylan, he barely mentioned anyone in his journal other than the potential girls he was in love with and also Zack, though, he does reference Eric upon at least three occasions. This is because unlike Eric, Dylan had a handful of friends and he always considered Zack to be his ‘best friend’ that was like himself and understood him well. Eric was his ‘good friend’ which isn’t really too shabby for Eric, after all, it’s not as though he was chopped liver to Dylan. When Dylan wrote this journal entry in: “I hate this non-thinking stasis. I’m stuck in humanity. Maybe going “NBK” (gawd) with Eric is the way to break free. I hate this.” Note two things regarding the quote: ‘gawd’ is mentioned after the word ‘going NBK’ and is not placed after *Eric’s name* and also, there is no exclamation point after ‘gawd’ which makes it sound more like a sigh of resignation that this is actually going to happen and take place after all. Dylan is pondering two things as late as Jan ’99, just 3 ½ months before the massacre on April 20th and that is: 1) it’s dawning on him this late in the game that he actually IS going to be doing the NBK thing he and Eric had been plotting, and that, yes, they would be killing people and after which point, he’d finally get to commit suicide and be free rather than just skipping NBK and simply committing suicide to be free. 2) Previously, Dylan fantasied about NBK as a basic gun ‘spree’ with him and Zack -or- him and his beloved who could’ve been his Mallory Knox, however, Fate never revealed His Her to him, and so now, yes, he realized that he would be doing the NBK thing (gawd) with Eric before he would actually get to die and be free of this world. As I’ve stated in a previous post, Dylan was looking forward to dying more so than his good friend, Eric, who was more fixated on going NBK, blowing up Columbine with bombs and killing/maiming as many people as possible. Dylan was motivated mainly by wanting so badly to be free from being stuck in the humanities ‘non-thinking stasis’ on the earth, and to leave it forever. This is the reason why Dylan had considered offing himself before the NBK plan that he and Eric concocted. It had little to do with ditching his friend and more to do with the fact that Dylan was feeling so miserable and wanting a way out, any way he could conceive of it. But the fact of the matter is, Dylan didn’t off himself before Eric, he didn’t abandon his good friend. (If anything, in actuality, Eric off’d himself before Dylan actually did.) Dylan joined forces with Eric and was very committed to carrying out all that they had plotted and planned together for over eight months. He did so devotedly. Dylan didn’t abandon Eric, he, and he alone, stuck by his good friend and helped him realize ‘the two man war against everyone else’ (a.k.a the destruction of their school) until death did they part. In all of these actions, Dylan demonstrated caring and loyalty towards his good friend, Eric. He never abandoned Eric who had far fewer friends than himself, so, in a way, Dylan looked out for his good friend who was basically all alone. Dylan was a committed friend that helped Eric realize their deadly dream together and more than any other friend who would ever have been capable of. I really don’t think Eric ever fully realized or appreciated what a true friend he had in Dylan and he just took him for granted. If Dylan had gotten fed up and chosen to leave Eric, Eric would’ve been all alone and so that is impart why Eric appears so attached to Dylan. They depended on one another like each others life raft that would see them through to their inglorious end.

Do you think if Dylan had a GF and they were happy and stuff but Eric tired to meddle in and ruin it for them? Because I was reading somewhere that Eric hated that Zach was with Devon and he fancied her and was kinda mean to her? Idk if that’s true. But would love to get an answer! :) btw; I love your blog!! :)

If Dylan had finally found a girlfriend he was happy with and Eric didn’t, I’d say it’s a very good bet that Eric would be resistant to those changes, and he might try to sabotage Dylan’s relationship. History shows that Eric had burned bridges even with his own friendships which were connected to Dylan such as with Zack and Nate. Eric often referred to the both of them in his writing as “me and Dylan”. If Eric also found a girl he really liked too that would be a different story because they both would have distractions on equally footing that would’ve fulfilled them. Either way add one girl or two to the mix for each, and it would be inevitable that their relationship would’ve drastically changed.
