Did Eric or Dylan ever get high?

Yep, occasionally. Not regular users but sometimes – say on the weekends and such, along with those somewhat disgusting experimental alcoholic beverages they’d mix. There is accounts that they did weed at the smokers pit with whoever was hanging around at the time including girls, passing a toke with the R & V.  I’d imagine Dyl would have just as much flair enhaling the joint as he did holding a cigarette between his long fingers. 😉

Towering, bouncing up and down super hard, slamming his combat boots on the floor, jerkin’ and spazzin’ around uncontrollably like a giant, long legged gumby with that infectious, bunched up large-chin grin on his face and those crinkly smiling baby blues. Falling down into a trench coat puddle at at the end of NIN’s Perfect Drug.  Approximately like that, yeah.. 😉

Outstanding post about Marla! But IMO I know juniors and freshman who can share the same class. When i was a senior in high school I had a few classes with sophomores.

Why thanks. 🙂   This is good information to keep in mind for further research.  I know that not all High Schools participate in mix grade classes.  My own High School did not have this at all.  The information that is available, seems to suggest that only PE and bowling class had mixed grade classes but this could be an assumption made on my part.  The thing is too, the practice of it could be different now from the way class structure was set-up in 1999.  It’s difficult to find this information because most of the time when you just do a basic search on Columbine High and what their educational system is like you invariably end up with data about the massacre.  The school is so strongly connected to that event it makes it hard to find current day data on the school. I do have a good source of information to ask who would know for certain whether there was mixed grade classes in ‘99 so we’ll have to see what they say. Thanks for letting me know this. 🙂 

Was Dylan a follower? Did he just get caught up with Eric’s plan like Dave Cullen said?

Short answer: Yes, Dylan could be a follower.  That is undeniable. There are plenty of friends, associates and classmate accounts that perceived him to behave as though he followed along at times.   Did he get caught up in Eric’s plan as Cullen insists?  Nope.  Dylan chose to do NBK of his own volition and also for his own reasons. Similar to Eric’s justifications and motivations but not entirely parallel to Eric’s by a long shot.  On the morning of 4/20, when the two were videoing their last basement tape 30 min prior to the shooting – which boy was snapping his fingers at the other to hurry up and finish his slightly reluctant goodbye?  That was Dylan, wanting Eric to get a move on, so he could begin the day of his end.

Im not good atindicating voices. Can you please give us 2 clear voice clips? One of Eric talking and one of Dylan. Sometimes Eric has a deep voice and i can’t recognize him :/

and watch the videos while following the lines in the transcripts.  I think the best way to get a handle on each dude’s voice is to really immerse yourself in their videos and pay close attention to their voices and demeanor.  Have fun! 🙂

Why did ChrisMorris lie in his interview in 2000? He said by senior year “the only 2 people who wore trench coats in that school were eric n dylan”. What a lying jerk off. You clearly see him wearing a trench coat at the end of hitman for hire. Chris always came off as a liar and always will

I suppose Chris could tell you that he dusted off the trench to play that scene in Hitmen for Hire and so what he’d said about not wearing his trench coat any longer on a daily basis “because it was no longer a statement of individuality” was essentially true.  But yeah, I understand what you’re getting at. Chris Morris was a smart dude and also pretty much just as angry and frustrated an individual as Eric ever could be.  He was crafty enough to articulate himself well for the authorities and media and so was able to minimize, most certainly lie where necessary – whatever it took to weasel his way out of looking like he was closely associated with Eric and Dylan and even going so far to sound as if he disapproved of the two, even.

Approximately $250 for each, the two shotguns and carbine from the Gun Show. 18 year old Robyn Anderson was there with them to make the purchases legit. The Tec-9 went for *$300 $500 sold by Mark Manes to Dylan.

I am wondering about something, when Dylan was fired, I assume his parents found out, because suddenly he was going to work anymore. But that would have meant he had to tell them why he was fired(because of something with a pipe bomb at work right?) but wouldn’t his parents have been curious/worried if they found out there son had brought a pipe bomb to work, and where he got it from? :)

Dylan wasn’t actually fired from Blackjack for bringing the pipe bomb in for show and tell, he quit that week.  He was steamed about it.  Plus, he wanted to work a computer job and probably felt he could get better pay elsewhere. 

Kristen T was not Dylan’s dream girl. His dream girl had 10 letters in her name. Marla Foust fits this perfect. M-a-r-l-a-F-o-u-s-t. She associated with many people from the TCM, and Devon was also good friends with her (probably how Dylan knows her).

Both Marla Foust and Kristen Theibault might potentially be one of several of Dylan’s dream girls. Dylan referenced different girls throughout the course of the two years he wrote his journal and appeared to be changing his mind as he went. At some point, he flat out mentions he’s not sure who She could be and eventually, he decides he will leave that up to Fate to decide for him.

Near the beginning of his journal in ‘97, Kristen Theibault seemed to potentially be a possible candidate because of the clue Dylan mentions about this particular girl in his June ‘97 entry in which he feels he’s in love for the very first time: “such a strange name, like mine” he clues us in. Basically, the last name ‘Theibault’ pronounces uncannily like ‘Klebold’. Plus, Kristen not only have friends in the TCM, she was part of the original TCM and Dylan knew and crossed paths with her friends. See my post on Kristen Theibault here.

Dylan’s ten letter Acrostic love poem was written later on in his journal at a time when his true love was now intended for a girl with ten letters in her name. The popular theory, of course, is Marla Foust. This theory seemed almost a given when dutch author, Tim Krabbe. decided to complete the acrostic poem using the letters of Marla’s full name and speculating words that would fill in the blanks to each of Dylan’s paragraphs that seemed to fit the poem in a meaningful way. The thing is, you can make pretty much take any name with ten letters and think up words to fit the poem if you work hard enough and have fun playing Dylan with it. Ultimately, just because we can make it fit, does not mean that it’s the exact name that Dylan intended nor the exact wording but simply our own speculation and conjecture. See post here

Dylan wrote the “My First Love???” journal entry in July of 1997. This would’ve been summer vacation before his Junior year.

This would place Marla right before her Freshman year at CHS. She would’ve have started at Columbine for another month yet.

The only other thing that might have linked the two of them is going to the same church recs together which he mentions only on one occasion in his journal that the ‘rec was fun’ and it looks like he mentions “Mara” in Nov ‘97. Perhaps a misspelling of her name as he didn’t know her that well yet?

Yet, when it comes to Dylan’s unsent love letter, he writes: “I was in a class with you first semester, & was blessed with being with you in a report… This semester I rarely see you.”

It would seem this couldn’t be the same girl as Marla who as a sophomore likely wouldn’t be paired up in a class with a senior. The only class that had mixed grades was P.E.

Like Kristen, Marla was also associated with the TCM and had friends as part of that connection. However, Kristen was part of the original TCM and good friends with initial members like Joe Stair, Chris Morris and Tad Boles. I do not think Marla was ‘good friends’ with Devon because in her account she mentions that “Devon Adam’s is the ex girlfriend of Dylan” – which to me, amounts to her not really knowing Devon that well at all. They were probably somewhat friends based on the the fact that both their friends mixed in connections with the TCM.

burnandraveatcloseofday did a brilliant post using logic and filtering out all CHS females from each grade that had a 10 letter name that might be potential candidates. This method of deduction had really never been attempted before so I was actually kinda thrilled to see someone tackle Dylan’s greatest enigma by using a process of elimination rather than just drawing conclusions based off witness accounts. They speculated that Dylan’s girl could’ve also been Erin Boortz, a Senior who had 10 letters in her name. This blogger played around with the acrostic love poem and easily made Erin’s name fit into the poem just as Tim Krabbe had done with Marla’s name. See post here I’m not really sure about Erin Boortz On one hand, I do not even think that she and Dylan would share the same circle of friends but on the other, oddly there is virtually no testimony in the 11k account from Erin. Which makes it a bit fishy? A plus for Erin is that she is also in her Senior year like Dylan in ‘99. She could match his unsent love letter where he felt blessed to be working on a report with her first semester.

At any rate, I do agree with you that Marla might yet be Dylan’s dream girl but I also think that within the context of Dylan’s entire two years worth of journaling that she is but one of many contenders for his Dream Girl. Keep in mind, sometimes even Dylan himself didn’t know who She was.. He was frustrated to no end in not knowing who she could be. At a certain point, he simply decided to leave it up to Fate to decide for him. If she couldn’t be revealed in life then she would be made known in his death/rebirth into the Halcyons.

We may just keep on perpetually guessing the answer to this riddle and Dylan just might like the idea that we are constantly in the state of being that ever ‘ponderer’ over the revelation of the identity of his True Love. 😏

Would Dylan or Eric date a chubby girl?

I’m not sure what degree of ‘chubby’ you mean in regards to this ask? Everyone has their own perception of what that means. Eric dated Sasha a few months and she was on the fuller figure side; after they broke up (pretty sure she broke up with him, actually), he started referring to her as ‘fat’. Dylan sorta dated her once or twice before she moved on to Eric. Dylan went out with Kristen Theibault once, very close to the shooting and a friend recalls they had ‘a good time’. I just read recently that Kristen was a bit on the heavy side or at least struggled with her weight and was sometimes given grief about it. It’d be foolish and unrealistic to think that the boys were all inclusive and unconditional regarding any girl at any weight size. Realistically, I’m going to say they had their limits. On the other hand, they were also coming up super short in the dating dept. with women, in comparison to their male peers. If a warm, sweet voluptuous girl was pursuing either dude and gave them positive attention, I really don’t think they’d resist the chance at some affection and companionship for far too long. They’d put aside their fantasy ideals that got them zero girls for the chance at connection, positive ego strokes and physical affection in a real relationship.
