Do you know how/if I can contact Brooks Brown, or his parents, or Eric or Dylan’s parents? I don’t know if it’s right, but I wanna ask them if they know anything about the basement tapes

Consider that you wouldn’t be the first and only person with this idea of contacting them for any number of things including the Basement Tapes. Brooks Brown is completely turned off by any and all Columbine related questions that he’s had to endure for the last 16 years. He generally blocks people that go there and ask him about Dylan and Eric for the umpteenth time. His ex friends are haunting him for the rest of his life by Columbiner fangirls and boys, and he hates the perversity of it. Brooks’ parents aren’t about to divulge anything to you or anyone else because, frankly, they haven’t done so for anyone else in the last 16 years. They’re pretty weary and worn out by Columbine. Lastly, put yourself in Dylan or Eric’s parent’s shoes. If you were to contact them and bring up the Basement Tapes, the very thing that showcases their beloved sons in the most infamous, contemptuous light and also the reminder of what they’d done – would you really want to dredge all that painful stuff up and wave it in their face all because you are only thinking about the prize of gleaning information on the Basement Tapes? When you say you don’t know if it’s right to contact these people, I think that a part of you really knows that you do know it’s not right. 🙂

I’m not ignorant therefore I can recognize Dave Cullen is, but is his book “Columbine” still worth reading even if it’s to understand some of the wrong perspectives.

Sure, I’ll agree with you on that.  Any book can be worth reading to obtain perspective even if you don’t particularly agree with much of it. There were a few things in Cullen’s book I liked amongst all of it’s tripe. I mention the good, the bad and the ugly of “Columbine” here.

I read somewhere that the basement tapes have been destroyed please tell me this isn’t true! D:

Clap your hands together and recite three times: I do believe, I do believe, I do believe the Basement Tapes still exist!!”    At this point. all we have to go on is to keep calm and carry on with our faith and and hope – that Jeffco was merely being sneakily literal to stop the incessant requests – and while the actual VHS ‘tapes’ might’ve been physically destroyed, their digital copy counterparts are still in existence, under password encrypted lock and key. If by some twist of Fates chance, they’re awaiting release, someday.. somewhere.. sometime..in the not too distance future.    Anything can happen, right?  Well, maybe..

17 years ago today (Jan 30th 1998), Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold broke into a van and stole $400 worth of electronic equipment during the night. After getting caught and arrested, they both were eventually placed in the Jefferson County juvenile diversion program. Upon entering the diversion program, they filled out several pages of questionnaires and paperwork for the intake (xx). Eric wrote an apology letter to the van owner days after the incident (x) while additionally ranting about it around the same time in one of his journal entries (x).  Months later, he also wrote an essay about the van break-in for school (xx).

Dyl’s blink. ❤

Prom is coming up and I was wondering if you could find any dresses that kind of looked like the dress that Dylan’s prom date wore that is purchasable. It doesn’t have to be exact just like the same color, same top cut or something it’d cool if you could find one that was like almost a mermaid fit. Thanks!

Dylan’ophile = yes.

Occasional Rebby questions = maybe?

Columbiner prom fashion consultant = no.

p.s. I’m not even a fan of Robyn’s prom dress. So, hmm, you might want to ask someone else this Q?  🙂

Do you think if Dylan had a girlfriend, would he have been really jealous of her around other guys (i.e. jocks and stuff)

Outwardly, Dylan would not have let on that he was jealous.   She, however, would’ve noticed some signs of him being more withdrawn and sullen in her presence. He’d internalize it and would’ve automatically relegated himself as unable to compete for her affections. If he saw her associating with jocks, a mortal enemy in his eyes, Dyl would’ve stewed about it. Pissy arguments would likely have ensued if she pressed him and asked why he was being such a stick-in-the-mud. So, jealous, yes, but passive-aggressive about it. He’d be sure to let her know in an indirect way that something was wrong but would not want to be direct or openly angry because it might mean he’d risk losing her by expressing his upset – even if he felt he was losing her all the same – just because she was talking to other guys.

Dylan about his arrest (taken from Far From The Tree)

Sue: Dylan, help me understand this, how could you do something so morally wrong?
Dylan: Well, I didn’t do it to another human being; it was to a company. That’s what they have insurance for.
Sue: Dylan! You’re scaring me!
Dylan: Well, it scared me, too, because I don’t know why I did it. Just, suddenly, we’d done it.

To a company? Oooh, well, that makes it so much better, dear.. lol

What do you think Eric and Dylan would think of 9/11?

That would heavily depend on what their mindset would’ve been like had they foregone NBK and lived on to 9/11/2001? If they were still angry, frustrated, nihilistic dudes, they probably would’ve thought ‘fucking cool!..it’s a prophetic sign sent to us, the gods!” Dylan would’ve thought “Fate is determing this because it’s happened on my actual birthday..Coool!

If they matured and moved past the need to destruct by the age of twenty, they would’ve felt creeped out by the fact that they actually thought of crashing into buildings in NY three years before. Dyl would’ve had a very strange ‘off’ birthday because the focus would’ve been completely on 9/11 that day for the world. He would’ve been secretly freaked out by it knowing the ultimate fantasies he and REB kicked around doing only just a few years ago. If he had a girlfriend crying over live footage, he would’ve had his arm around her and probably would’ve felt sheepishly ashamed of what he used to dream of.

As spirits, I’d say D & E were none too surprised that they weren’t the only ones that thought of crashing planes into giant motherfucker greed-driven buildings in NYC. They understood their incarnated role that they had contracted to playout on 4/20. Fate could’ve interceded but didn’t stop them. Like Columbine, 9/11 was another globally cataclysmic act that was set to occur to wake up it’s sleeping earthly inhabitants, to create awareness and force human unity. To paraphrase Dyl: “The framework of society being destroyed..” “..Good things turn bad; bad things become good.” Spirit Dyl would’ve been worried for his mom, dad and bro feeling doubly horrible when 9/11 was televised on his birthday. 😦

I have a question and I don’t mean to be offensive whatsoever but how are you able to formulate these answers about Dylan? They are really quite detailed and I’m not meaning to discredit you at all because I think they are great, well thought out responses. Do you just form them based on research? Anyway, I love your blog and your responses. Keep it up!!

Not to worry; no offense taken. 🙂 It’s based impart off my extensive, ongoing research and the other, hm..how do I put it, sense of him? My ‘formula’ is one part stuff posted in a way that is kind of informational reporting on E-C based on solid facts and testimony given with the 11K documents and a considerable part from Dylan’s perspective by way of his journal and day planner. The rest, in between, you can consider it sort of like my intuitive conjecturing along side the facts. Often times, I’ll find a few different antecdotes in various places and will, what I call ‘muse on it’ and eventually post the amalgamation of it into a snapshot theme. I hope the bridging of these two streams of information helps to give an awareness about Dylan as first and foremost, a person, an individual, and secondarily, in relation to his devolution and culmination of actions taken at Columbine. I appreciate your wonder and the kind words. 😊

Hi, My name is Samantha, I live in London, I am 32 years old (born August 25th 1982) I avoid wearing shoes whenever possible and live in my ripped jeans. I love the rain. (Your probably wondering why I am saying any of this but I didn’t want to contact you via anon but I am utterly inept with all technology :)) I was wondering if you would be so kind as to share your understanding / opinion with regards to what the tri cross symbol meant to Dyl personally? You rock btw!!

Pt. 2: Hey, I literally just mailed you. I’m doing so again as I just scrolled through EC and found the information I was seeking hence you must have received my question already or else someone asked the same thing! I do apologise I such with this stuff and didn’t think you had received any of my latter posts. Thank you so much ♡

You know, that was quite a unique intro..can’t say I’ve experienced a bio followed by a question all in one. 😏 Glad you found the info you were looking for in the first part of your ask! and Thankss.. 😊
