massacreofthechildren:

I’ve been dying to make this edit

HISSssss!

The demeanor and body language says it all. Those long drink o’ water legs and the boot pivoting is something else.  His words UNnecessary. Just a withering glare and a flick of his coat.  Like a cat’s tail twitching a fuck off’! at you.

I will forever wonder what this mysterious, greco-roman dwelling is at the very end of the Morning Ritual.  Looks like something out of a movie. Also looks like a cemetery mausoleum.  Somehow it’s familiar..but I just can’t place it.

Things that make you go hmmmm…

burnandraveatcloseofday:

“Life Is Sweet (Daft Punk Remix)” by the Chemical Brothers.  This is another song from the album Exit Planet Dust (1995), remixed by Daft Punk, and also doodled in Dylan’s planner (JC-001-026462).  This was long, long before Daft Punk became famous on their own with songs like “Get Lucky” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” (sampled on Kanye West’s “Stronger”).

Daft Punk’s ‘Da Funk’ was huge hit in ’97 and it’s when Daft Punk ended up on the music scene radar because of that one tune. It’s a great funky electro song, btw.

The stylized font that Dyl often practiced in writing in is the Chem Bros font of choice called ‘Dust Mites’ (ironically, a free download on a site that happens to be called Da Font. 😉 ) Dyl wrote his essay on Time Management for the Diversion Program completely in this font and it’s veerrry hard to read. Chosen intentionally, no doubt. His passive-aggressive way of saying ‘I don’t give a fuck, I’ll pick whatever font I like and too bad if you can’t read it. hahaha!’

VoDkA was funky, ya dig?   Think Rebby turned a blind eye to Dyl’s personal music tastes? 😉    Can you imagine Eric reading the back of his t-shirt and oh geez, that expression? lol

Chico’s Groove by the Chemical Brothers from the album Exit Planet Dust.
As r
eferenced in his journal and day planner a handful of times, Chico’s Groove has got to be one of his all time favs of the band.  I’d go so far as to say it’s Dyl’s groovy theme song – sort of that upbeat, goofy side of himself,ya dig?. “Just jammin’ to this.”  Again, it’s got the funk rhythm flavor to it.  Dylan made sure to replicate the song title in the official Chemical Brother’s logo font ‘Dust Mites”. (JC-001-026459).

Btw, I love the yearbook signature practice on his day planner with the…Laterz, Cya ‘99 <<-V–>> Dylan Klebold
In Nate Dykeman’s year book he put his sig plus what else?
CHICO’S GROOVE
–
almost like it’s a kind of “peace out, dude!”

Happy Friday, Chico’s Groove’in on into the weekend. 🙂

Cool cat Dyl jazzy whistling and snapping those lovely fingers  ..and also the mystery of who exactly said ‘ketchup & cinnaminis’ ..solved. 😉

Snippet of the Breakfast Run Video – filmed April 19, 1999 – the day before the Columbine massacre.   Dustin Gordon, driver, Dylan Klebold,  jazz whistling co-pilot and Eric Jackson, filming in the back seat,  This is for a “Looking” video production project in which Dylan planned to entitle it ‘American Dream’.  Of course, he’d never submit it seeing as he’d be dead the next day a little after noon..  Subtitles by Miss Everlasting. 🙂   p.s. Notice how soft Dyl’s voice is and he sort of slurs his words together i.e. “sal’n pepper”

Burger King customer service: Here’s your change, ketchup, salt and pepper?

Dustin Gorton: No

Dylan:  Salt and pepper?  or as Dylan slurs it “Sal’n pepper?

Dustin: Ketchup, salt and pepper – NO.

Dylan: Yeah, a little ketchup with my cinnaminis..

Dustin: haha

Eric Jackson: yummy, yummy

Dylan: …maybe some pepper

Dustin: Better hurry up. We’re making a video here, hurry! c’mon!

Dylan: *begins whistling some elevator music”

Dustin: (discusses editing of their video they’re shooting)
*mumbles something indistinguishable*
if we do it right, we can throw in some good music.

Dustin: “(approximation)….that part where my ass goes around the corner *makes tire screeching sounds*

Eric Jackson: heh

Dylan *still whistling away*

BK: there you go; you have a nice day

Dustin: thank you!

Dylan: *stops whistling*

Eric J:  do do do do do do

Dylan playing Soul Calibur with probably Zack and other friends (?) and laughing like a high octave goofball to someone going “Get the fuck out! Get the fuck out!” in Donald Duck speak.

You’ll hear Brooks’ voice, and then Dyl’s, near the end of the clip while you see the visual of Zack with his baseball cap on. That is just the audio bit from the Frankenstein Roast; the documentary over lapses the audio of the Roast over the game playing sequence. It’s slightly confusing..

The Chemical Brothers – Block Rockin’ Beats – Live at Woodstock 1999
In a nod to the original hippy Woodstock Festival of ‘69, this fest had a lot of topless chicks apparently..;)

Block Rockin’ Beats was a favorite enough for Dyl  that he selected it for the music on the “Techno” section of his website design layout (too bad he wiped his computer, I wonder if he ever finished his website?).  Notice the strong funk beat and heavy percussion rhythm to it. Very Dyl. Not surprising that he took up the drums as a kid. Dude had innate rhythm always snapping his fingers when the mood struck him.

Dylan wasn’t much into lyrics.  When it came to techno, says Devon, “LIke, the more bass he could get in that music, like subwoofers and stuff, the better.  He really liked that.  A lot of it is mostly instrumental, which he liked a lot.  He didn’t have to deal with all the lyrics and stuff.  He wanted to make up his own mind what the music was about.  He did not like to be told what to be feeling.  He was an individual.  He always strove to be an individual.  He didn’t always succeed.  You can just lose yourself in techno music.  I remember nights staying up with him and he just drifted off.  Music shuts down the outside world.”

everlasting-contrast:

Another one of his favorite bands was the Chemical Brothers.  And at one point, Dylan talked with Devon Adams about going to one of their upcoming concerts.  But Devon notes, “He obviously never ended up going to it because it came in summer of 1999.”

This would have been the concert they would’ve gone to together at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 1999.

Very Sad..

Classic Reblog..

Zack Heckler described Dylan as a “Chemical Brothers Fan”. The vibe of this music is true Dyl to the core with that kind of funky flavored, electro-techno beat.    The Chemical Brothers puts on an amazing, high-energy show with entrancing light-show visuals that pulses and breathes in time to the rhythm of the music.  You can’t just listen to their music and ‘get it’; you have to go see them live to really feel the entire experience and also what strongly appealed to Dyl. Tbh, The Chem Bros is like a key component to his individualistic tastes and personality.  If NIN spoke to his sadness and darkness, The Chemical Brothers spoke of his kinetic vibrance, smarts and jovial spirit.

15 years ago, Dustin Gorton, Dylan Klebold and Eric Jackson filmed the Breakfast Run, where they went to the former Burger King, on April 19th, 1999.

Dylan entitled this video project ‘American Dream’

Song playing in the backdrop “Americana” by the Offspring
Hmm. Ya think Dylan selected it for his last class video?

Well i’d like to tell you all about my dream, it’s a place
Where strip malls abound and diversion’s mere moments away

Where culture’s defined by the
Ones least refined
And you’ll be left behind
If you don’t fit in
It’s all distorted
In americana my way

Well my dream has come true
My vision has come true

Now give me my cable, fast food, four-by’s, tat’s right away
I want it right now cause my generation don’t like to wait

My future’s determined by
Thieves, thugs, and vermin
It’s quite an excursion
But it’s okay
Everything’s backwards
In americana my way

Well my dream has come true
My vision has come true

I’m a product
Of my environment
So don’t blame me, i just work here

My rights are denied by
Those least qualified
Trading profit for pride
But it’s okay
Everything’s backwards
In americana my way

My nightmare has come true
My nightmare has come true
Yeah, it’s all coming true

Columbine “Breakfast Run” video the day before the shootings.

4/19/99 Last breakfast run at Burger King with driver, Dustin Gorton, Dylan, his co-pilot and Eric Jackson (not Harris) in the backseat.

Dustin Gorton presently runs a “Victims of School Shooters” group on Facebook. Having done this video with Dylan just the day before, his co-pilot even, and then seeing Eric onthe day of must have been extremely devastating for him – like someone yanked the rug out from under him and he slammed his head on the floor. The ultimate feeling of betrayal.

It is so sad to know that Dylan knew he would die the next day..
