I don’t think being picked on was a thing that happened in class at least not a regular occurrence.  It’s more like Dylan kept quiet and too himself and was not really sociable with those he didn’t know so he was one of those kids that was picked last a lot for the ‘pair up/choose partners’ thing (which I hated myself). So, not really being “picked on” per say..  Some classes had more jocks students in them than others.  There were probably some whispers that went on where they talked about him and his friends. Maybe even chucked things at him surreptitiously while snickering amongst themselves. Low key, under the teacher’s radar type stuff.  I am in speculation mode here since we do not have any particular account in the 11K, at least that I recall off hand, of Dylan being ganged up on and “picked on in class”. 

Probably so, yes. Unless he flat out left home and the state.  Frankly, would’ve been the best thing for him to do.

Other than that, I’m not sure exactly what you mean by ‘personal’.  Care to give example/s?

Who knows.  I’m sure Dylan felt a twinge for him but, honestly, dudes just don’t talk about stuff like that. Way too embarrassing to dwell on awkward physical deficit stuff.

Likely, yes, that is.. until they got to know someone. This repeat question has been addressed quite a lot already though. See here.

What makes me laugh is, you know what type of person someone is by whether they favor Eric or Dylan. And everyone does, often subconsciously.

People who favor Dylan have suffered depression or currently are, able to connect with his feelings of loneliness and despair because those were the emotions he wrote about. They probably dream of love the same he did.

The people who favor Eric have depression or used to, just the same, but probably not as badly as their counterparts. They don’t connect with Eric’s sadness, they connect with the anger, hate, the teenage angst and lust.

In the end though…everyone forgets they weren’t one dimensional characters in a movie or book. But they don’t mean too. No one does.

We forget Dylan had Wrath on his t-shirt, we forget he helped make the pipe bombs and that he killed people as brutally as Eric did. We also forget Eric’s self-harm (via autopsy reports) and his feelings of regret towards his family, especially his mother. And I we remember these things, we forget to mix them into the whole person they were.

They were boys, murderers, depressed teens, guys who spent way too much time playing video games, lonely kids, horny little fucks before pornhub, kids who never really had the chance to grow up.

That’s an interesting question :)…but also, a very tough one given that I’d only be able to ask Zack a mere three questions.  So, I wouldn’t be asking him questions that we know he’s likely not going to answer like “did Dylan ever say anything suspicious that made you think in retrospect he’d do the massacre?”   Because first off, we know Zack already stated publicly he really didn’t have a whole lot of clues and even if he was aware that Dylan was planning it, he certain isn’t going speak up now and will take any slam-dunk foreknowledge to his grave to keep himself and his family protected.  I also wouldn’t be asking him questions that was already asked of him in the 11K.  

So, here goes…

1) Can you describe what Dylan’s personality was like when he was around you as oppose to how things were after you began dating Devon as oppose to how he was hanging around Eric?  In your opinion, did Dylan like Eric? 

2) What was Dylan like at his best ?  The coolest and or the funnest moment about Dylan that is uniquely him?  What was Dylan like at his worst and what types of things did he tell you when he was mad or upset?

3) Did you and Dylan drift apart near the end?  Were you the one always calling him at night? 

And you can see I sneakily added in a couple more Qs for each..;) because it’s pretty impossible to list only three.  There are soooo many questions I’d like to ask Zack given the opportunity..so these would be open ended questions to jog his memory and get the interview started so to speak. 😉

It take a fair amount of time..or quite possibly never – depending on how their dating was going. I think a lot of that would really be contingent upon the girl and her personality.  She’d need to project her natural, genuine, warm and open self to encourage him enough to feel safe and take risks opening up more about his deepest innermost feelings. It would all be about trust and safety for Dylan and also not keeping feelings to himself and talking to himself about them in his head – but to actually share those thoughts and to let the girl he was falling for know verbally how he was feeling..whether that be the written word or coming from his lips.   I think he’d have to really like her a lot, feel comfortable in a natural sort of way and she’d have to somewhat be the lead in coaxing him to express himself more.
