But he felt super comfortable and at ease around Devon I think.  Devon was that sort of down to earth, the salt of the earth (Taurus) kind of friend; easy to talk to, fun to laugh with, bohemian, chill sort of girl to be around.  He must’ve been feeling completely comfortable and secure enough with her in the moment of bonding as he’d dance with  little Dev.. So, I think that it must’ve felt natural and right for him when he lowered his head and sneakily planted that kiss on top of her hair.

Dylan held Love in high regard and so sex would’ve been the eventual next level you took things to when you were so in deep with this girl that she was literally all you could think about.  But before sex..there would be spending time together, being in one another’s company and those infinite, everlasting kissing sessions that would make sex simply the icing on the cake. 🙂

Yes, after he and Susan parted ways around 10:30, Eric cruised over to the after prom and had a great time hanging out with Dylan doing the available dude stuff like gambling at the casino tables.  The also took a couple of photos with friends there. Eric had shots snapped of him with some of his gal pals Kim Carlin, 

Alyssa Sechler, Sara Arbogast and Kristi Epling who went to prom with Nate.  Not to shabby of a time for Eric, hmm?  And NO male ego threatening stuff required on his part such as having to dance.  I do think prom would’ve been a phony bore for Rebby and he would’ve fussed and rolled eyes over a girl trying to talk him into dancing *coughs* looking like a retard *coughs* with her.

But I prefaced the “it was a good thing that Eric didn’t attend the prom” with this: ‘I think In some ways’ and dancing is certainly one of those particular ways that not having Eric around allowed Dylan not to censor himself or hold himself back on something he knew his close friend would considered foolish and stupid. 

Fact of the matter is, had Eric gone to prom (not just the After prom which is the only thing he did) , there is good bet that Dylan would’ve thought twice about Devon asking him to dance, and he would’ve opted not to dance at all but instead hang on the side lines next to Eric who would no doubt be laughing and pointing out people that looked like dancing spastic idiots.   Without Eric there, Dylan was free to cut loose and do the sublime and ridiculous stuff he never once dreamed he’d be trying in his life.  This has nothing to do with ‘blaming Eric’ as so much as calling a spade a spade.  Eric hated people dancing and Dylan was normally reticent about doing anything social like dancing.  Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the two hanging out together at prom meant that dancing would not be an activity that either would venture doing and risk looking idiotic.  Dylan would’ve felt self conscious enough but having Eric see him dance from the side lines? 10x more self conscious.  No fucking way.

They did slow dance together to “Take my breathe away” by Berlin but I’m sure he was also encouraged aka dragged on to the floor with protests by Devon and/or Robyn to dance to other more fast paced stuff. That probably amounted to anything from awkward white boy side step shuffling to spaz dancing. lol. But, hey, Dylan danced and it’s amazing that he pushed the inhibitions aside and mentally reasoned “oh, fuck it, I’m going to do a lot of shit I’ve never done in this stinkin’ life and all on one night, so, why the hell not? ” and so he did just that. He even volunteered to his mom that he danced so he was a bit pleased with himself. I think in some ways, it was a good thing that Eric didn’t attend the prom..

Well, but how do we know that he did?  The instances I gave were based off of what we do know to be fact and anything else beyond that, is speculative wishful thinking.  We know that Dylan was very shy and timid with girls in High School, so you can only imagine how a younger, more immature, more geeky and bashful Dylan was in Jr. HS as that math and video game geek.  I think it’s pretty safe to say he stuck with the company of Eric and other dude friends at that time.  In High School he was only known to have dated Sasha Jacobs once, mm..maybe twice? But she was weirded out by Dylan’s awkward vibe so she then set her sights on Eric.   The only other girl he was heard to have gone out with in the spring of ‘99  was Kristen Theibault and that was a rumor but the rumor was also that they had a good time.   The two were friends and she was part of the fantasy baseball league.  Would Dylan have risked kissing his friend on a first date?  Possibly? Then again, more likely not knowing his track record of not initiating things.  We will never know for certain whether a kiss on the lips happened.  But if so, why were there not more dates?  Sadly, I just don’t see it as having happened for the dude.

The gasoline was wafting about the house but emanating strongly from their garage. The strong gasoline odor was only present on the day of the massacre and discovered upon the Harrises arrival home.  The gasoline was an ingredient needed for assembling Molotovs and also for their crude attempts at Napalm. The gas/oil mixture was carried in Snapples bottles as evinced in Dylan’s diagram here.

Presumably the Harris family knew Eric was involved in someway hence the reason they had already contacted their lawyer, the description of "ongoing situation” would imply this interaction occurred fairly early on in the day. Likewise i can imagine the Harris family also saw all the items Eric left behind in the home and realized something was amiss. It doesn’t seem to be made clear anywhere how long they were home that morning.

There were reports of the house smelling of gasoline yes. “WHEELDON smelled a very strong odor of automobile engine gasoline throughout the HARRIS’ house. WHEELDON asked Mr. HARRIS if the odor of gas was normal and he replied "no”.“WHEELDON attempted to locate the source of the gasoline odor. WHEELDON walked through the living room and into the HARRIS’S two car garage at which time it was obvious that the gas odor was originating from within the HARRIS’S garage because of the heaviness of the odor. pg(10222) "It was decided that due to the gas vapors and the possibility of a bomb inside the house the house would be evacuated.” pg(10223)

The two boys were in the garage reportedly making a lot of noise on 4/19 and 4/20.  They were breaking glass and making schrapnel for their pipebombs. Ed Reffitt (was working on the house next to Harris’) says “at approximately 09:00 a.m. KLEBOLD drove up to HARRIS home. He stated the garage door opened while KLEBOLD was still in the car and KLEBOLD pulled the vehicle into the garage and the door closed. REFFITT stated he heard glass breaking in the garage and the car left shortly after 09:00 a.m. He stated he did not see who was in the car when it left. REFFTIT stated the vehicle he saw on April 20,1999 was an older dark grey BMW with large speakers in the back window.” pg(10237)

Sue was misinformed by an author. That wasn’t Dylan holding the camera and getting knocked about by jocks, it was Eric Veik. I spoke about this before here. I feel like Sue should be viewing these videos herself if only to take a glimpse inside her son’s life and the dynamics of his friends within it and that one of us should be walking her through each vid to get a more accurate idea of what’s occurring. 😉

Dylan’s dad was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis right about the time Dylan was starting his freshman year at Columbine.
