You seem to blame Eric for all of his isolation but I don’t think that’s completely true. I remember reading in the 11k about a couple people who said they used to be friends with Eric, but then stopped when he started dressing different. One former friend of his (I cant remember the name) even admitted that he joined people in making fun of him. Eric could be a jerk to people yea, but Dylan has just as much asshole moments, just not with his friends as much

Ah, no.  I simply answered the specific question posed to me truthfully and in accordance to my personal opinion and sense of things.

There was no blaming of Eric.
There was no comparison of Eric made in relation to Dylan.

There was making excuses for Eric.

A specific question was asked; I answered.

People need to stop getting their knickers in a twist over a Rebby.   And, personally, I do think he’d read my answer and agree, quite frankly…

what did Dylan mean by “pacon the beach bitchez” in the message to Nate. Never heard the word pacon

Tend to think Dylan is lazily making up his own spelling of the slang packing which can be either carrying a gun but can also be used as a sexual innuendo.  Which Dyl meant would depend on whether Mr. V considered them stuck-up beach bitchez or not  lol – however, since he’s making this in reference to his good buddy, Nate, and his heading off to Florida, I tend to think he is wishin’ him a shitton of packing hot chicks on the beach. 🙂

You’ve stated certain things are “off topic” that relate to columbine so I was just wondering which columbine subjects you consider ON topic.

Sooo..essentially Dylan, Dylan and uuh, Dylan. 😉

And oh, yeah.. a dash of Rebby and questions about the boys dynamics together or in relation to the Columbine event. 🙂

Less likely to be answered but might be once-in-a-blue-moon: General Qs regarding Columbine. For example, the question about Richard Castaldo, I would normally avoid answering because it’s super unrelated to this blog. However, that particular day I was up for offering some info on it. There’s no hard and fast rule on Off Topic Qs, just know that it’s not a given I will be answering them. I also don’t want people to think it’s ok to keep asking a bunch of Off Topic Qs because my message box is already quite filled up. So keep it to a minimum or if you absolutely have to ask you can always private msg me.:)

What did all the girls considered to be the “Halcyon girl” had in common? There are a few of them and Dylan’s journal is edited, so what is the base to think of each girl as a possible crush of him? It was the hair colour, the classes they took, the way they dressed…? Did they have something in common with each other?

Well, first of all, he didn’t consider any girl to be his “Halcyon Girl” that’s a term people made up here. His words were more like “His Love” or “Soul mate”. And other than a few of them being brunette, no I don’t really see that there was any sort of commonality that stood out between them. He seemed to be seeking someone that was similar to himself in personality “quiet, pensive, not wanting what is offered here (life)” but that was only one particular girl he had been observing. I don’t believe all the girls he was attracted to, or interested in, were exactly like him. So, that is sort of a wish list for Dylan but not a commonality in the few various girls we know he took a secret liking to.

what kind of things did Dylan use the computer for? I’ve seen posts on Eric making doom maps and going on aol but not much about Dylan

Dylan tinkered around creating his own game wads. Back in early ‘97, in the first passages of his writings, he mentions that he deleted his wads because at that particular time in his life, he was attempting not to do certain things he felt was wrong to do. In his mind, creating wads was one of the things that he shouldn’t be doing.  He was trying to bargain with essentially God to make his life get better if he stopped doing certain bad habits.  I’m sure, at some point, that he gave up on the purging of “bad” stuff at some point and realized it made no difference.  So, Dylan did build wads and he also helped modify and enhance Eric’s Doom wads with sound effects and such as well as beta test for them.  A good part of his computer time was spent playing video games especially multiple playing over the internet with friends. He socialized online using IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and hung out in chat rooms and would hang out in certain forums or loiter intentionally in others and ambush them and stir up chaos and trouble with Eric. He practiced his fine HaXoRz skills around on AoL and generated various free and bogus accounts on it. He’d punt people off AoL or harass them with hacker tricks.  He got kicked off AoL via it’s ToS.  Of course, there’d be chat convos with him and Zack and Nate and definitely chats with him discussing NBK planning with Eric and people they wanted to kill or add to their Shit Lists.  He wasn’t big on email and didn’t use it a whole lot and had a reputation for not responding to emails. lol  He surfed the web – as good as you could back in those days on a 14.4 modem which was super s l o w.   He used the first peer-to-peer music and media sharing sites that took hours just to download a couple of songs or a fifteen minute video. This was back in the day before Torrents was a thing and Napster hadn’t even started yet until fall of ‘99.. He accumulated a lot of MP3 music for free this way and prided himself on being the “God of the MP3″ in his yearbook message to Nate. He also likely got some of his porn on the file sharing website – which by the way, was another considerable past time on his computer. He wrote homework assignments and stories on his computer. I also think he may have written some personal meanderings on the computer as well as dabbled in poetry. But that is just my sense of things.;)

@ the anon: rachel scotts dad compared Rachel and Erics writing. He even wrote an entire poem comparing the two. Just saying.

 Excellent point.^^   Said poem

Rachel Scott’s father does a side-by-side comparison of his own daughter’s words, the victim, with the perpetrator’s words.

The killer and victims words are joined together and immortalized in prose. Offense or not?  You decide. But keep in mind, your reaction and personal opinion is not about to censor how I choose to run my blog.

Comparing contrasts – which at times can border on the controversial-  is what I consider to be a beautiful thing because it is the resonant spirit and foundation of this blog, the Everlasting Contrast. -+-|-+-

I can’t believe you’re comparing a victim to a perpetrator. That’s extremely disrespectful. I wonder what Kelly’s parents would think of this.

Well, you can believe it because I’ve done so.  In the capacity that I’ve made a  simple comparison of the two in relation to physical features, I fail to see the disrespect that you seem to want to mono focus on.  Yes, we already know one was a victim and the other a perpetrator, though not specifically her perpetrator. In any case, we need to move past stating the obvious since it’s irrelevant to the only thing being discussed here in relation to the question posed: physical similarity.  If you personally find that “disrespectful” there’s not much I can do for you since I don’t personally..  I would suggest that you not visit here or simply block this blog. Simple as that.  Speaking of this blog: it’s already dedicated to a particular perpetrator of the Columbine massacre and I’m sure many people in general would consider that offensive in and of itself. This one post that you seem to be appalled over is hardly the time to get fussy and call a Time Out over the relative nuances of what is offensive..

In the tarot card post, the blogger stated that Eric could have been talked out of it, and that Dylan needed therapy. Do you believe that? Do you believe Eric could have simply been talked out of it, if yes how and by who? Why would it be Eric when Dylan seemed like the more logical one?

By spring of 1999, I don’t think either of the two could’ve been talked out of it. The die had been cast and both Eric and Dylan were dead set on what they were about to follow through on.. They spent far too much time planning and envisioning their ‘going out in a blaze of glory’ mission that it pretty much would’ve taken an intervention and a separation of either one or both boys to wake them up from the symbiotic, powerfully malignant brainwashing the two had done on one another over the last year.. Eric had literally made no plans for his future and the idea of sticking it out to end up settling at a community college while working a full time, dead-end job held no appeal for him. Besides of which, he had no belief that he was ever going to amount to anything worthy enough for himself or his family – particularly his father. He had no close friend that would listen to him and try to turn his negative voice around into a more positive, productive direction.  Eric burned bridges with any friends he had so no one else was as close to him as Dylan. And Dylan was simply not that friend to be a good influence because he was too mono-focused in his deep depression and pessimistic view of his own life. Dylan planned for the future he knew his parents expected of him. And I think a small part of himself was trying to talk himself into it, to see himself within that potential future reality that was already very much within his grasp. I think he mulled over the thought of seeing himself going to classes at the University of Arizona, living in that desert climate that so appealed to him as exotic and vastly different from the climate he grew up in and was sick of – but ultimately the fatalistic side of himself wanted to surrender to what seemed like an easy way out of his mind. He was simply in too much of private hell of personal pain to see any potential positives in his failed attempts of visualizing himself in his “mock” future aspirations. The two were insular and secretive and no one knew enough to put two and two together to reach out and help them. Furthermore, they didn’t want help because they didn’t believe anything or anyone could help.. The two together spelled certain doom by 1999.

Hi, this question is not about Dylan but do you know what shirt Eric is wearing in the video where he’s kidnaping the blonde girl? He appears to wear the same shirt in the senior group picture.

That would be Eric’s TIER custom made t-shirt. It’s possible even that he made that one because the letters look glossy like the sort that you amateurishly iron on the shirt. LOL    Eric rather timidly abducting a ditzy Brandi vid.

Tier is the name of a Rammstein song which translated means Beast or animal.. It is also what he entitled his last, most complex Doom wad in which I believe he referred to it as “his life’s work”. I also seem to recall that he uploaded it to the school server.. I would imagine the shirt he created was a nod to Rammstein and also a bit of marketing on his part for his own Doom game level.

Looks like the front of the shirt was the english translation “BEAST” but it’s  bit hard to make out with Brooksie being in the way. Or, this might be some other customized shirt with red lettering because the font looks quite different from the TIER lettering…
