How did Dylan loose weight? Cuz I don’t think it would’ve been an eating problem, in fact, from what he ate I would’ve thought he would’ve gained weight…

It’s a combination of things really – such as the usual teenage boy’s naturally high metabolism combined with stressors, anxiety and depression plus, imo, there’s also a likely possibility of his using over-the-counter stimulates to give him an energy boost to get himself through the day, complete homework, go to work, complete diversion, feel more upbeat, etc. – to do the impossible for someone who feels nothing seems possible

If Rachel Scott was a junior (born August 5, 1981) why is she older than Dylan (born September 11, 1981) who was a senior? Or am I missing something?

Dylan’s parents started him in school earlier. Generally, Juniors are seventeen and Seniors are eighteen by the time they graduate. Rachel would’ve turned eighteen in August ‘99 to attend her last year at school as a Senior.  Dylan would’ve graduated Spring of ‘99 at seventeen and turned eighteen by September ‘99…had he lived, of course. 😦

everlasting-contrast:

Hypnosis place – It is a sky – with one large cloud, & sort of a cloud-made chair – the sun is at the head of the chair … 10 o’clock up into the sky … Below, I sometimes see myself, & the green (forest green) earth – sorta a city, yet I hear nothing. I relax on this chair – actually like a chaise – & I am talking … to what? I don’t know – it’s just there, I have the feeling that I know him, even though I consciously don’t … & we talk like we are the same person – like he’s my soul.

a dream..

Miles & miles of never-ending grass like a wheat. A forest, sunshine, a happy feeling in the presence, _Absolutely_ nothing wrong, nothing ever is, contrary 180° to normal life. _No_ awareness, just pure bliss, unexplainable bliss, The only challenges are no challenges,
& then … BAM!!! realization sets in, the world is the greatest punishment. life.

I want to buy Dylans hat but there is no red sox hat with a B emblem when you wear it backwards :( I am getting plastic surgery done to have the same face like him, and get my hair like him

Can you let us know if and when you manage all three of those life goals? Because all of us here sure could use you for as a reeeeally authentic Dylan impersonator for the Basement Tapes recreation filming, like pronto dude.
Thanks for the laugh. 😉

Who took the footage of Dylan walking down the columbine stairs?

I’m going to say a close friend here, someone Dyl felt completely relaxed and comfortable enough to be himself in true personality enough to play-up teasingly for the camera with the tilt of his head and that laid-on-thick sunshine smile.  It seems most likely to me to be Nate because we know that the two goofed around filming the Morning Ritual and so it’s a good bet they filmed other ‘day and a life at school’ type vid shots which Nate probably hoped to send to his dad in Florida.  However, it could’ve been any close friend that got their hands on the Columbine video camera that day so we can’t exactly exclude the possibility of Zach, Devon and Robyn. Obviously, it’s someone he knew well and liked a great deal to be uninhibitedly goofy in front of. 🙂

Do you think Dylan would have had it better if he had gone to Chatfield High School (as he was supposed to before his father decided on Columbine)?

I don’t know that it would’ve been a whole lot better for him as these two schools were in direct competition with one another though I believe of the two, Columbine was more prestige with upper- to upper-middle class students and was dominated by the athletic culture, the snobby rich kids and preps.  I seem to recall that the more broad variety academics and curriculum at Columbine were more top notch than Chatfield which is why Tom Klebold preferred Dylan attend there. Sad to say, simply switching the type of daily environment from one school to another might have changed the outcome of his future. For example, Dylan’s depression may not have been exacerbated if he was exposed to a school culture that might have been less social-politically exclusive with the jocks and preps at the top and the bullying of the ‘have nots’.  Then again, maybe he would’ve still been predisposed to depression but that it might not have gotten worse.  And if Chatfield’s school culture sucked in it’s own set of differing ways from Columbine it would still have been an emotionally problematic situation for shy Dylan.  The most important factor of all in regards to an alternative timeline Dylan attending Chatfield High: Dylan would’ve been separated from Eric which would’ve been a very good thing.  Eric and Dylan met and knew one another in Jr. High School but they only drew closer in their sophomore year at Columbine.  If Dylan began Freshman year at Chatfield, they might never have forged that close bond of shared hate and homicidal/suicidal ideation together. Dylan would’ve met entirely different students to befriend at a whole other type of school.  Just for the sheer fact alone that Dylan would have been exposed to different sorts of classmates and friends and social cliques (may or may not have been a TCM alternative there) would’ve made the outcome more favorable for Dylan to still be alive today.

And I’m sure Tom Klebold must kick himself a bit in hindsight for having chose his son’s high school which had a hand in determining his own child’s fate.

A ❤ for  Robyn ?

“Here’s all the people I’ve loved, or at least liked (or thought I loved) – all the same meaning.”

The mystery name begins with an “R” and whoever they are, they’re listed third up from the bottom.
I used to consider the possibility of this being Rachel Scott but there’s two important things to note here:
the blacked-out name seems just a tad tooo long and so it might fit Robyn’s with her lengthy last name of ‘Anderson’.

Secondarily, who would have been close enough in his life to garner underscoring an “R” within it’s individual heart on his list?  Where Eric had his ‘Semper Fi’ list, this may have been Dyl’s version which contained both girls that were friends and also potential girlfriends that Dylan dreamed of as more than just friends.  He cared for his female friends as ‘a like’, and yes..to both like and care for, would also equate “love” in an all-encompassing sense of the word  – simply because in Dylan’s mind, to like and/or love is “all the same meaning”.  In theory, Devon would also have been somewhere on this list too – only she was not as close to Dylan heart to earn the significance of a letter within her designated heart.  Anyway…this popped in my head the other day after all the Robyn Asks I’d been getting (which seems to be rather cyclical ;)) ..  It seems a likely possibility that it could potentially be none other than Robyn Anderson given the factors mentioned above  – but of course, it’s also still simply speculative.

what are some songs that remind you of dylan? no, i don’t mean songs that he personally liked or anything. is there a song whose lyrics remind you personally of him?

Mm, there’s a few songs that personally remind me of Dyl.  Some are just parts of a song that bring him to mind while others are the entire song – with some, it’s more the melody and not necessarily that the lyrics click perfectly on rare occasion, as with this one, both the melody and the lyrics are achingly beautiful and fit Him perfectly. This song really feels ‘like him’ to me –  it’s like his energetic vibe – sort of slow and lethargic in tempo with an shifting internal, emotional landscape that matches the clandestine confines of his journal. There’s just this swirling sense of loneliness, melancholy and longing about this piece. It is the God of Sadness, both The Hermit and Ponderer, the solitary intelligence observing others, the world, from afar and yearning for what he feels he cannot be part of,  on his quest down the never-ending Lost Highway seeking everlasting love and a sense of completion.Dyl laments “The letters he’d written never meaning to send.” and yet, in the next breath within his journal, he declares passionately from his metaphorical mountain top in clandestine passion, ‘he loves her!!  The entire mood  (pun intended ;)) of the song is poetic and lush. I got shivers the moment I had heard it while out one day when It dawned on me that this was the embodiment of Dyl’s essence. Of course, I knew this song. It’s been around as a classic from the late sixties during the hippy heyday which couldn’t be more perfect since I tend to instinctively equate Dyl with having been born-too-late as my feeling is that the true core of his being was that of a peace, free-thinking lovelorn nineties hippy who knew his highly evolved truth but had lost his way, wandered from it, in his short struggled existence in humanity.

“Nights In White Satin" by the Moody Blues

Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I’ve written,
Never meaning to send.

Beauty I’d always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth isI
can’t say anymore.‘

Cause I love you,Yes, I love you,Oh, how, I love you.

Gazing at people,
Some hand in hand,
Just what I’m going thru
They can understand.
Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end,

And I love you,Yes, I love you,Oh, how, I love you.Oh, how, I love you.

Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I’ve written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty I’d always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can’t say anymore.

‘Cause I love you,Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.Oh, how, I love you.‘

Cause I love you,Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.Oh, how, I love you…..
