Yes, the Ever-lasting contrast. Since existence has known, the 'fight' between good & evil has continued. Obviously, this fight can never end. Good things turn bad, bad things become good. My fav. contrasting symbol, because it is so true & means so much – the battle between good & bad never ends… Here we ponder on the tragedy of Dylan Klebold.
Of course? Same frequency as any other
hormonally frustrated teenage boy. But, I mean, the far more interesting question about Dylan is why he consciously chose to stop indulging in it..
Maybe his life would’ve turned out fine but maybe not. It’s difficult to say. We just don’t know that ‘Timeline B’ for certain. One thing is for certain though, the sort of chronic depression Dylan experienced needed to be addressed long-term or else it would’ve kept manifesting itself in whatever life challenge that confronted him. For example, if Dylan had made it through HS and on to college, there would’ve been a continual new set of problems cropping up for him to deal with. He could’ve easily, at any point in the future, come to the same conclusion that his life was still not worth living. Good and bad things would happen, as with anyone’s life, that would’ve put his resiliency to the test. Things like failed relationships – perhaps a couple of dates with a girl that he really liked but she broke it off or worse yet, decided to friend-zone him when he had just fallen head-over-heels (and the sex was amazing, well, for him). Maybe he had issues making friends in college or his first software job was less than satisfactory or he couldn’t get along with a co-worker or boss or maybe layoffs occurred or –whatever external problem presented itself that he found himself struggling with – could have triggered his low sense of self worth, sending him into a deep funk. There too, I tend to think Dylan was genetically prone towards the depression – but with the right therapist and long-term treatment and also the support of friends, he could’ve pulled through. Dylan simply needed someone close, friend, family or girlfriend, to help him open up and to realize and acknowledge he had a problem so he could begin to deal with it by leaning on their support (which would’ve been hard for him in itself). It’s not something he could’ve just barely managed to continue squeaking by on his own as he had barely scraped by in high school and look how that ended up in ‘Timeline A’?

Devon dated Zach Heckler, Dylan’s best friend. Not sure where you’re getting the name Chris from? Devon considered Dylan her ‘best friend’ as she had known Dylan longer than Zach. She posted on Facebook this past 4/20 that she regretted never telling her best friend, Dylan, how much he meant to her, how much she loved him as her best friend and ‘confidant’ on Prom night, April 17th. Just two and a half days later he went on to commit the massacre with Eric. Devon can not help but think and regret that such a seemingly small act of kindness such as expressing her love and caring for her friend, might have made all the difference in the world in regards to his choice.
Nah. The boys were incredibly vested and committed, that this was the day. It was ‘now or never’ and they’d waited, planned and prepared for far too long. The two were at the point where even though the bombs did not go off, they felt it was impossible to cease and desist.
Too much was at stake. Stopping and retreating would be cowardly; they swore openly within the school that they were going to be the ones to not just talk shit about destroying their school but actually make good on their words and do it. Plus, each had personal desires at stake though both wanted..knew.. it to be their last day on earth. Standing there seconds before by the Southwest entrance was like the two being up at the very top of the roller coaster, just teetering on the edge. There was nowhere to go but down, to see it through to it’s end, whatever fate decided.
Honestly, at that time, Dylan was pretty numbed out. If any of his family members died in ‘99, it would’ve been, of course, shocking to a degree, but I think he would’ve mostly numbed himself out even more than he already was. It was his coping mechanism for all the infinite pain he already felt. The grief would’ve expressed elsewhere in addition to everything else he was suppressing, in daily doings and distractions, in drinking a whole lot more. I tend to think if Byron had died, Dylan would’ve been sort of shoulder- shrugging aloof about his death. He was anger with his brother and pretended not to care. His posturing was to be disinterested and indifferent in his older brother’s passing since he felt Bryon had no interest in him and had abandoned him quite a while ago. It was kind of like Bryon already died in his mind, you see? Dylan shouldered everything alone and and prided himself on his self reliance as a coping mechanism to interrupt his vulnerability and sensitivity which was the source of his pain. ‘The beauty of being numb’ he once said in his journal. If any of his family members suddenly died, he’d decide it was just another shitty thing about existing in humanity and try to act as though it was just one more thing that no longer mattered on top of all the rest. Their deaths would’ve represented all the good and painful times within his family, and within all his hidden grief, would’ve given Dylan more reason, in a long list of others, to go NBK and take his own life.
Only five? That’s really hard especially where Dyl is concerned.

There is no mention as to what platform or software Dylan used to set-up his website. Back in the day, sites were often manually written or coded in html with a wysiwyg html editor. Some were lucky to afford a more intuitive shell-based wysiwyg software program like Dreamweaver where the coding was done back-end. I’d say Dylan’s website/s would’ve been manually coded given that he was a computer geek and was probably very clean at the coding. It would’ve been very bare bones, maybe had frames (which would’ve been ‘cool’ back then. lol ) and probably heavy text based with images and basic animated gifs inserted occasionally. I’m sure his Fantasy Baseball website was very wordy, informational driven with maybe a back-end database interface to it for updated plays. He did use the OS platform of Windows PC and Linux (running on his Apple).

The significance of Dylan’s version of the triple-barred cross was not the same as the traditional Salem Cross symbolic meaning – if that’s what your asking.
Yes, I know of at least one person on the tag that got the everlasting-contrast triple barred cross in tattoo form. I can’t recall their name though… Dylan’s concept was originally derived from the Cross of Lorraine but he then added the longer slash bar across the middle while in the midst of cutting, The longer slash represented himself between the polarity of light and dark. The three bar cross is also known as the Salem’s Cross but not to him personally, for Dylan it became known as theEverlasting Contrast symbol.
I think he’d likely feel badly that you’d add your life to the many lives he’d already had a hand in destroying. His responsibility is already heavy let alone adding more deaths in his name, you know? You’d honor Dylan best by finding your source of strength from him, in memory of his struggle, to continue to live out the rest of this particular existence in honor of surviving what he couldn’t. Then when you leave ‘here’, when it’s truly your time, he can pay you a well earned visit. 🙂
Nope. No joke; you heard right. And should it really be a joke anyway, I might add? After all, this is a fairly large fantasy genre for some guys and yet it has an uncomfortable taboo about it for some reason.

The famous vampire goddess foot worship scene between Salma Hayek and Quentin Tarantino in From Dusk ‘Till Dawn. The movie was released in January ‘96 so there’s a possibility that Dylan might have seen it at the theater at the tender age of 14. o.O Though, he might’ve seen it on video at 15 or 16. In any case, I’m sure he had quite a stirring of feelings, simultaneously turned on but also mixed with confusion over such a blatantly erotic sequence of feet play. I think this scene made an impression on Dylan and contributed to forming his appreciated tastes which were clearly not exclusively dominant fantasies.
